[Q] Is it possible to flash mods without using a custom recovery? - AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note II

Is it possible to flash MODs (Just mods, not roms) without using a custom recovery? I am on a stock rooted ROM and I don't want to flash a custom recovery. Is there an application that will let you flash MODs?

Why not install recovery install mods then install stock recovery.

You can install the mods manually. Unzip the files place them in the right directories and reboot. But a custom recovery you can back up you rom incase something doesnt work.

Custom themes

If i flash a custom theme and I dont like it. How do I go about removing it?

if over a custom rom. just reinstall the rom.
if over stock reinstall the stock rom
some themeres also include an undo file to remove them.
also you could create a backup in cwm before flashing. that way you can go back.
or look at what files the theme modifies and back those up first with a file manager.
A nandroid is better ...back up using cwm then flash theme if you don't like the theme wipe everything like installing a Rom and restore backup

[Q] Gio AllReset (Nuke?)

Hi! I have a question. Is it possible to make some kind of super reset to Galaxy Gio so it will look like out of the box if i need to take it back to the shop? I hope some one can answer my question.
W/ best,
Jyrx.
Factory reset - resets all to default.
Clear cache, dalvik etc, then flash a stock rom if you have flashd roms before, delete superuser.apk if you had root acces ... Stock rom flash required if you used clockworkmod recovery and custom roms or boot.img..

Yes , if you flash a stock rom via odin, you can see ut also writes recovery.rfs or something like that.

Flash an official firmware by ODIN and your phone will be like first time - Stock Recovery, no root, etc.

What Rom did you try to flash and what kind of phone do you have? (Gsm or cdma)

The same happened to me when I tried to install a rom through rom manager, you are just going to have to install a backup or a different rom you did not download from the rom manager.

Just download Rom on computer and put in SD card then flash

I found it. I had to restore and wipe all data via recovery not reboot into an old backup. But I can't seem to find ANY roms that will work on my phone ? Can someone point me in the right direction to one that will work?
For cdma roms, look in Android development forum, there is a new Rom by simonsimon34, team blueridge

(Q) How do I use twrp to get new ota

I download the new OTA on my rooted Note 2 but now I'm like what should I do.. 1. Should I unzip the file first with androzip than move it over to my SD card or just go Str8 through Twrp? Please help out if you can.. Thanks

Unless they've figured out a way recently, you can't install the actual OTA with a custom recovery, only stock recovery. You just need to find a copy of the stock ROM in one of the forums on here and download / install through TWRP if you want to stay stock, but rooted.
The stock OTA SHOULD NOT be applied using TWRP. Use the stock recovery only or you will get an error. You need to be on Stock, stock, stock MC2 unrooted in order to apply the update.zip.
It doesn't matter where you put it or what you name it. If you can point to it in Stock recovery, it will install it.

install a custom rom via sideload?

Ok so I was crazy enough to try the recent update on my rooted G Pro. It got stuck in recovery loop of course. Is there a ay to load a custom rom with out having to have a CWM recovery?
Hopefully I didn't confuse anybody.
Thanks in advance.
No you need to have cwm, twrp or phills cwm to flash custom roms. Adb sideload is available through these recoveries.
