Notes
This is a "multi ROM". It will automatically detect your phone model and install the appropriate files.
Supported models:
* i_atnt (P930, NitroHD)
* i_vzw (VS920, Spectrum)
Phone model is detected using the SoC build id. If the install fails, send me the contents of your /sys/devices/system/soc/soc0/build_id and I'll add support.
i_skt and i_lgu support is in progress.
Install instructions
* Install the latest recovery. As of this writing, it is CWMT 6.0.1.1. See other threads in this section for how to obtain and install it.
* Download the ROM, verify the md5sum, and put it on the root of your sdcard.
* Download JB 4.1 (not 4.2) gapps from goo.im, verify the md5sum, and put it on the root of your sdcard.
* Power off your phone.
* Hold volume-down and power until you see the scary warning screen.
* Confirm by tapping the power button twice.
* Make a backup of your current system (use the tar method!)
* Do a full wipe / factory reset.
* Install the ROM.
* Install gapps.
* Reboot.
When and why do I need to do a full wipe?
Always do a full wipe when coming from a stock ROM or a ROM based on stock.
A full wipe is not necessary when coming from any version of CM, AOKP, or any other non-stock ROM.
Failure to wipe may cause system apps to misbehave (FC). The usual candidates for misbehaving include the clock, the launcher, and contacts storage. It will not damage or corrupt your phone.
This ROM contains a script that will automatically wipe data for system apps when upgrading to a different vendor (CM or AOKP) or a different Android base version (4.1, 4.2). So, for example:
* When upgrading from CM10 RC5 to CM10 1.0, no data will be wiped because the vendor (CM) and version (4.1) match.
* When upgrading from CM10 1.0 to AOKP41 1.0, system data will be wiped because the vendor does not match.
The script will never touch data for user installed apps.
Donations
I don't accept donations. Please donate to the EFF or one of the hosting providers.

I'll be trying to fix some of the bugs in the p930 kernel over the next couple of weeks. There are at least three:
* BSOD (black screen of death).
* Reboot when power button pressed in camera app.
* Reboot when scanning initiated for wifi direct.
Please post any other major issues that deserve attention.

In follow up to the posts I made here and here regarding the P93x build_id, I've got some new information. I've flashed several different KDZs over the past couple hours and this is what I've learned:
After flashing the AT&T P930 V20c update, the build_id was 8660-AAABQNBYA-34701050.
After flashing the P936 V10c update, the build_id was also 8660-AAABQNBYA-34701050 (same as above).
After flashing the Korean SU640 V10f update, the build_id was 8660-AAABQNBYA-30552040.
Therefore, it would appear that the reports that other people gave for the build_id were misleading. Since they've used the unbricking guide (which installs a SU640 KDZ), their devices actually have the SU640 build_id. I'm guessing all of the P93x devices share the same build_id but would need more testing to verify that fully.
By the way, there's an alternative method that can be used to unbrick which uses a P936 KDZ instead which has been briefly described here. This is the method I personally use. I have some suspicions that at least SOME of the problems that are frequently reported for CM10 (reboots and Camera power button issues for example) might actually be caused by having flashed a SU640 KDZ. However, I will say that I have experienced random reboots on my phone as well even though I had unbricked using a P936 KDZ, so it's clearly not the cause of every problem. But I've never had the Camera power button issue.

been running aokp41 for about 8hrs. first impressions are very smooth. everything seems to work so far. didnt have the dreaded BSOD when i woke up this morning. i will give a couple days before judging battery life.
btw i have seen many posts on how to calibrate the battery. does anyone highly recommend a specific way to do this? or will any of them do?
so far nice work
thank you for your contributions

Don't calibrate your battery. It honestly does more harm than good.

a new ROM, I'm excited!

If you manage to fix the bsod and random reboots, you will be my hero, since I'll be able to keep my p930 for longer and save moneys!!!!!!!

Great work, keep it up! Been waiting around for an updated AOKP ROM. Does this have the Power Button Torch feature?

No it doesnt seem to but I can look into that. The torch button can be put into a toggle though, just like CM10.

That would be excellent! Holding the power button with the screen off to turn on Torch essentially turns our phones into a convenient flashlight.

My guess is, KDZ contains bootloader, and after unbricking, all future firmwares are installed by dd/cwm and bootloader remains untouched. So many unbricked P930 are running on SU640's bootloader, which can be a problem.

The wife laughed at the boot ani then followed that laughter w/ "how cute". I disabled it. Thanks for your work!

Makes sense but my wife's GS2 Skyrocket with cm10 has the same reboot problems. I believe it's a global issue and not just our fudged way of rooting... Sorry to clutter thread, OP.

That would probably explain why the phone runs MUCH better by going v18f-root-V20c than the unbrick method. I will have to give this a shot.

That is almost surely a kernel issue or possibly bad hardware. And I'm using the cm10 kernel (the binary, didn't even recompile).
Does this happen on the official cm10 build?

Interesting...any idea what in the kdz is flashing different things between P930AT&T and Korean SU640? Is it the bootloader like mentioned above? What would be my easiest option for moving back to the right bootloader?

I see the same bug. But I just enable and disable debug mode and it works.
Also can't get the video camera to work.
Which worked for me on cm10.
Other than that this ROM is real slick.

Introducing SlimBean for the P93x and SU640. This is Android version 4.2.2. This build is unofficial, and as such, is not supported by the Slimroms dev team.
About ROM
1. To read more about SlimBean, check out their website: www.slimroms.net
2. Built from SlimBean source using the CM device tree.
3. Stock CM kernel on build 8+
4. For a full list of features, see here.
5. SlimBean changelog can be found here
6. This ROM requires a modified DPI play store. Please read the instructions below.
Installation Instructions
1. Place ROM on SD card.
2. Boot to recovery
3. If coming from other ROMs or from SlimBean v3.x, wipe data, cache, dalvik, and system before flashing. If upgrading from a previous version of SlimBean 4.2+, simply wipe cache and dalvik before flashing the zip.
4. Flash ROM
5. Flash gapps
**Important note: Gapps are not included with this ROM. Although there is a slim-gapps and other extras listed on the Slimroms website, I have had no luck getting them to function correctly. It wouldn't hurt to try them; the worst thing that could happen is you would have to re-flash the ROM. If it works for you, let me know. Otherwise, to get around this, I flash the standard gapps package first, then the modded multi-DPI play store found in I hope it really goes without saying, but be sure you are using the correct version of gapps and the multi-DPI play store; which is 4.2+.
Credits
Thanks to the SlimRoms team for the permission to use their source and release to the community; HO!NO! for allowing me to use his kernel source for v3.1.0 and 3.1.2; thomas.raines and Team FahQ for the use of the LZ kernel; tdmcode for offering his knowledge and expertise; and x0dus for helping me get it ready-enough for initial release. If I have left anyone out, it's most certainly not intentional; just let me know and I'll add you to the list!

Re: [ROM] [P93x] [Unofficial] SlimBean
Running since yesterday. So far, real good. Knock on wood. No bsod, no random reboots, bluetooth, wifi, network all work fine, no glitches so far. Started with a clean install. Gets a slight bit warmer than Ho!No!'s FT9, but nothing crazy. Battery is not throwing any red flags with crazy drainage yet.

There will be some BSOD's and random reboots. I woke up this morning to a dead battery, even though it was on charge all night; it had BSOD'd while I was asleep and drained completely. I am working to resolve them, but no real ETA.

My apologies. It is nothing on your end. It is with the patcher provided by pdroid / openpdroid. I just don't use a ROM until I can get it working. I love denying permissions with it.
Weird, it reported GMail as not compatible with this rom..

What gapps did you use? I haven't had any luck using slim-gapps. I'm personally using 20121011 gapps with the modded DPI play store that I linked to in the OP. Again, I've had no luck using the modded play store that slim provides. No specific reason I'm using that particular version of gapps, just that I haven't downloaded a newer version since it came out. Flash gapps, then the modded play store and everything should work as it's supposed to.
I know the problem is with the LCD density that is set in build.prop; the Nitro's original density is 320, but build.prop sets it to 241. The original play store doesn't like that; hence the reason a modded DPI store is required. You can change it and there wont' be a need to use a modded play store. I mean it doesn't have any adverse effects to set it back, but the ROM will look completely different.
Got another BSOD last night while sleeping. Got a last_kmsg, now to learn how to read and understand what they tell me.
Downloading, will try it out later today, i ll report later, should be awesome, love HO!NO!'s Hyper Sonic Kernel
Love the rom, but big problem for me is that, most of my apps arent compatible with this rom ... cant load them from play store ... any idea ?
Android Keyboard is broken on my phone. I've tried Fixing Permissions and that didn't seem to help any, I'm going to do some research on this and see if it isn't something I can fix myself but if anyone has an idea on how to fix this I'd love to hear them.
edit- After installing Hackers Keyboard, I was able to bypass the message completely. If anyone else has this issue they can download the keyboard here.

I don't recall having any problems with the aosp keyboard, but I also flashed my TiBu update.zip after the initial boot as well; which included my previously set-up SwiftKey Flow. But i will try it on a clean flash to try and reproduce the problem.
EDIT: I tried reproducing the problem with the Android Keyboard and I didn't have any problems. I'm not saying you didn't, I was just unable to recreate the problem. What was the message it was giving you?

No biggie. I understand it's a little different than other ROMs in that sense. I should probably make that section a little more visible; I actually fought with that same exact problem for about 3 days before I realized why Gmail and various other apps were saying I had an incompatible device.
Also, if anyone can point me where to get the correct vendor proprietary files for the su640 - if they're different from the p930 files that is - I will try to get a build posted later tonight.

[ROM]Optimus Z based on Stock Jelly Bean {Rooted+Debloat+Extras}[FLASHABLE]

Hey All,
Houstonn and I have been working on a stock release of JB that can be flashed through CWM or TWRP but we decided to throw a taste of the Sony Xperia Z into it. The ROM runs fast, smooth and looks fantastic. This build supports the Canadian variations of the Optimus G and the AT&T variation for the US with external SD support. As the title states, this ROM is clean of most carrier and OEM specific applications, however; there will be a few more to come out in subsequent updates! Re: [ROM]StockJB with a taste of Xperia Z {Rooted+Debloat+Extras}[FLASHABLE]
I have been running custom Roms from day one. I decided to installed the official jb update to see how it felt. I then decided I wanted to go back to a custom Rom. I kdzed to stock ics rooted and freegeed. Everytime I ran feegee then rebooted the LG logo would flash on the display and the phone would freeze. With having installed the official jb update do you think it may have modified some firmware that would affect freegee. I did notice something unusual. When the phone reboots after running freegee it starts to boot then quickly shuts of and starts again. This is the first time I have seen this glitch.

I would suggest you see Shelnutt2 on irc he will help you with that.. you might need a new clean misc partition.. and he has that. I've provided him with an E973 misc and he has made sure it's been cleaned up so that you shouldn't have those problems.. it's either that or you might need his other freegee unlock for special phones.. I would contact him as he would have all the info you would need.
Great idea for a rom.
And with houstonn being invloved, it's got to be great!!

You can try to PM him but quickest would be IRC - http://webchat.freenode.net/ the channel is #lg-optimus-g
Shorelinedroid is working on aroma script where you'll have the options to choose what you would prefer to install as well as kernel so that E975 should have working camera..
Until that is done.. I'll make a flashable zip for att users to flash for their apn and their build.prop and fastdormancy has already been applied into the rom for the att settings. i'll add whatever extra if I can think of.
Looks like a nice rom. Will give it a try. Great to see more roms for this great phone. Thanks ShorelineDroid and houstonn
I have ICS, using houstons debloated ICS rom, freegeed and unlocked. Installing this rom overtop now.
I have stuck with ICS because all of the JB ports have had a network routing bug which prevented me from creating a hotspot. There was an obscure bug that affected the routing for rare customers like me that do not have a regular data plan, only UMB (web browsing only).
Will I need to flash the JB modem firmware after?

You can definitely flash the updated JB modem specific to your carrier after flashing this ROM. Take a look to the second post on this thread for a link to stock JB modem's from Houstonn

I've installed it. Man that xperia launcher is fast. I didn't seem to have stock wallpapers though. Gps, lte etc worked great on my e970.

hey gunnyman.. you'll have to use the proper apn-conf file I sent to shorelinedroid. it flashes the proper build.prop plus proper apn for att users. I've also compiled a new stock jb kernel and sent to him.. but for now.. here's the zip.. it'll flash all 3 kernel + apn + build.prop

I'll have wallpapers coming in the first update - both LG and Xperia!!
I flashed the rom successfully on my E971 Rogers. Worked great out of the box except I had to add my APN, speakout.
I am able to tether to my speakout UMB data
I did not flash the modem, would there be any benefit for doing that or is it something I will need to do manually in the future anyways?
One very cool thing happened after I flashed the rom, I was able to get data from somewhere new, I think it was from Rogers. Odd, because I do not have a Rogers sim, I use speakout which piggybacks on the Rogers network. I went up from 5mbs on speakout to 10mbs on Rogers! However, I was not able to tether so the Rogers data wasnt useful for me.
After flashing this rom over ICS stock, I cannot get into recovery mode anymore. Just fastboot.
UPDATE: You can get into fastboot by installing the free version on Rom Manager, it has an option for booting to recovery
Just flashed it. Is it just me, or did anyone else see a battery life improvement over the Korean Leak?
Question: I see in the screenshots that you have the Sony messaging app. The ROM doesn't have the stock LG or Sony Messaging when I installed it, do you plan on integrating any other messaging app than the stock messaging? The one that the ROM comes with doesn't have any popup notification, so I was hoping you would put another one in.

I think that is the icon pack, not the sony messaging app. That being sad you can install the CM10 one probably.

Why are you on 4.04? Check out my sig for the process to get this rom working, staring with a kdz up to a base rom of 4.1.2.
Just wanted to say thanks for this rom, seems stable so far and finally my battery lasts more than 4 hrs max. In over one hour I am still at 98%
houstonns roms of the lgog have been the best that I have tried.
Anyone else get a crash when you try to use the voice keyboard?
Anyone found a way to turn off pie controls??
2nd the question about pie controls. I'd prefer to turn it off.
Also, anyone know why CM10/10.1 themes don't seem to effect the signal icon in the status bar? The Wifi icon changes but for the all the themes I've tried the signal icon seems to stay as a default JB one.

Bluetooth audio
Just wondering if anybody else is having issues with streaming audio over Bluetooth. I can pair fine and play music over Bluetooth but it makes a constant clicking/popping sound. It's like that for all the rom's rb, cm, carbon. I don't think it's the receiver either as it works for all my other devices.
sixaxis controller not working
Anyone had any luck using a sixaxis controller with this rom? I notice in the sixaxis controller app (by dancingpixel) that the bluetooth MAC is different than with my stock rom... so after setting the new BT MAC address on my controller (using their provided sixpair tool) it never connects... reverted to stock and I get my regular BT MAC back and the controller/application connect and work fine.
I adore this ROM and this is the only deal breaker for me... any insights would be greatly appreciated!!
This is with a Rogers E971 btw...

device does not show in my computer
HI Guys,
I just flashed Vanilla Rootbox and it rocks. But i have a noob question, the device does not show when i plug into my computer. I do have the LG drivers installed (only way i can root and i used it to copy over the roms and flashed using KDZ, etc).
However i do not see USB options in settings menu. Am i missing something? With other roms like Optimus Z or just the stock Optimus G unbloated, it just shows up but not for this rom. I haven't tried other AKOP roms yet.
I have tried multiple known good cables and different usb ports but nothing shows, although it does charge the phone. I'm sure its something simple but for the life of me i cannot figure out i did wrong/differently
i'm using a Rogers Optimus G E971
Thanks in advanced.
EDIT - Nevermind. After reading through 20 pages in the Rootbox thread, i found the answer. Turn off USB Debugging for others that are in the same situation.
This is probably not ROM related, but I've searched and messed around for 2 hours and cannot find a solution.
I came from stock 4.1.2 E973 Bell, it was rooted, and now unlocked, and running this latest ROM and Gapps. I followed all guides, it installed fine, everything runs fine...
Except my files are not visible by the ROM, my music is gone, pictures gone, flashable ROM files gone, etc.
But really, they are not gone as I can boot into recovery and all my files are there, ROMs, music, everything. They show up under default "/sdcard" if I were to pretend to flash a file. So it's like the ROM is just not seeing the folder structure. No matter how I search, or use ES file explorer or whatever, it will not find any of the files in question.
If I connect to my PC, I also cannot browse to the files, yet they are still there in recovery.
Thanks!

I had that same problem and all I was left with was a backup file I couldnt open. I walked away from it all, and in the end I did the kdz to jellybean and followed the recommended install for this rom. The problem was caused but the old version of recovery that was installed by FreeGee. Once you update everything, you will be fine but save anything you want to keep to your PC. Your software is way out of date, do the kdz and get a fresh start.
---------- Post added at 01:37 PM ---------- Previous post was at 01:32 PM ----------
I am using swype and I have a touchscreen bug that is driving me crazy. I rarely use my phone, so the hardware is in mint shape. The problem is when I type (swyping) the phone freezes for a micro second and it causes my line to break. So instead of the word
"developer"
what gets inputted is something like
"D. Envelope person" instead of "developer"
It gets to be a chore editing these blips which happen once in every 2-3 text messages.
I know there are so many options in the rom, any one of them could be causing the freeze pause, but does anyone have idea what could be an obvious cause?

A bit confused, as the last time I tried a ROM and had trouble with it I ended up just using the LG tool and reverting to original ICS, then upgrading to Jellybean, isnt that the same as a KDZ to Jellybean, I mean its the same ROM. And also, I upgraded my FreeGee before I used it so wouldnt that install the latest (or at least somewhat updated) CWM? Your comment of "your software is way out of date" bothers me when I take care to be up to date if I can
Thanks for any clarification and help.
Just to point out though, I had backed up before using this ROM, so it was a backup of stock Jellybean. My files were not retrievable with this ROM, but when I reverted back, they were there, when I again reverted to this ROm, files gone, I have since gone back yet again just to backup my files and try again. But now it's long weekend and beer time lol

I had the same problem. I'm on a bell e973. The only rom that won't do that for me is aokp. I have no clue why. The dev (chadouming) was stating that it works well for him. I wonder if it's device specific... I believe he's on Telus. B

Install question.
Hello, I'd like to know if I absolutely must kdz before flashing? Seems this phone does not like to be flashed...
Thanks.
orellius- I thought you were on ICS, I havent had that problem since ICS. However, since I lost all my backups and any phone specific info as a result, I dont care anymore. No backups for me, recovery mode is all I need
mathsz- you shouldnt have any trouble doing the kdz once you have been thru it once. It is only necessary when you are upgrading from ICS to Jellybean, and if you do not do it you will run into trouble eventually if not immediately.

So I installed the jailbreak a few months back and have been waiting eagerly for a ROM and searching around... but from what I have read, the sch-i925 version note 10.1 doesn't have the same partitions as other 10.1's, so I haven't found a ROM for it.
What confuses me is that people seem to be returning back to stock... and in the first line of the instructions of this ROM I find:

So... what other ROM?? How did I miss that?
I'm super happy that I finally find a ROM for this tablet, but why now a few day's after the first post of this great news... why I'm the first posting here?? Nobody else jumping out of their seats in joy??
Also, I'm curious... does the CM include phone capabilities? I'm in Iceland and the Icelandic version of this tablet is basically just a very large phone, I'm hoping this ROM will get me there since now I cant even use the mobile networks at all because I have no Verizon SIM and even if I did - it would be ridiculously expensive
I'm looking forward to testing this out, will post my results

Do you mean it includes the phone app, but somehow is still limited to Verizon?? If its a new ROM, why is it still locked to a certain carrier??
So I was about to install CWM when I got into trouble connecting detecting the tablet with both heimdall and odin. Adb detects the device... perhaps a driver issue because of ADB... perhaps it doesnt matter
I booted into recovery only to find the TWRP that I haven't used yet, it came when I installed adams jailbreak. Im not familiar with TWRP but it looks pretty good. Do I need to install CWM or is TWRP good enough??

I also believe that this rom is specifically for the verizon version of the n8020 (the sch-i925). I have the Verizon SCH-i925 Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 which is a LTE version. So this rom should fit pretty well I dont believe I can use the n8020 ROM's because of some different partitions from what I have read.
Can I install this rom with TWRP recovery or is CWM a prerequisite?
I didn't quite understand your reply, even if the Rom is designed specifically for this tablet, that does not mean it is still locked to the network provider. Is it still locked?
Thanks again, cant wait to try it

cwm is just recommended for official cm builds but twrp should work. and no its not locked onto verizon it is just designed for it. moving it to another carrier would require slight modification

So the install went great - No problems with TWRP, ROM or Gapps... smooth sailing!
The only changes to the tablet prior to this install was following Adams guide on how to unlock the bootloader. I also had not installed any updates from Verizon.
The ROM I installed was the cm-10.2-20130904-NIGHTLY-i925.
I also didn't install CWM, the TWRP that i got from unlocking the bootloader worked just fine.
Here is the bug list:
The Bug List:
1. GPS is working just fine.
2. I haven't tried the BT voice search.
3. 5ghz WIFI not working - I also needed to reboot to get 2.4ghz working again
4. No graphical issues yet, I test played raging thunder racing game and no problems there at least.
Other Bugs:
Camera:
No camera app found. I installed Nexus camera from market but it gave an error: "Can't connect to the camera". Also, my flashlight app can not use the camera flash.
I noticed that in folder /root/sys/class/camera/ there is only two documents "front" and "rear" which are both empty 0.00B files. Was looking for the cause, perhaps this helps?
Mobile network *Edit: Not a problem anymore:
In order to search for networks, the APN needs to be configured first! I am using my normal phone Icelandic SIM now and can use 3G in here in Iceland, send texts and after downloading a dialer I can now make phone calls also
Besides that, the OS is working great... 4.3 is pretty cool Its a real bust that the camera isn't working, I hope that gets fixed since its the only downside of this upgrade.
I'll keep a watch on this forum, so let me know if I can send you any info about my install. I'll also keep an eye on the upgrades and report if my problems get solved
Thanks for this ROM

Other Bugs:
Thanks for this ROM

camera had worked up until a few days ago an opensource camera hal replaced the camera wrapper. I haven't made the change to build the oss camera yet as only the front cam works with it. I'm working on getting them both functional.

Great, cant wait to see whats to come!
Would I then perhaps be better set with a camera by taking an older rom, 1st of September for example?

Good question, I'm glad I downloaded all of them, I suspected they might only have space for 5 there! Just wait a second, I'll google this for you.
Sorry for the wait, it was only a minute though... but I found this for you:
http://goo.im/devs/cm/i925/nightly
I guess I didn't need to download all of them after all. By the way, September 2 worked better than September 1 so Im using that now.
Im going to check the 8th of sept ROM tonight... perhaps its all fixed there, will report
I've got the latest 9/9 nightly flashed on my i925 and don't see an option to add APN's nor make calls.
Can I just download any Dialer from the market and calling will work?
My intention is to test it with the AT&T $35 month prepaid plan, but I hear already that supposedly Medianet Internet doesn't work.
If that doesn't pan out, I'm going to be trying a Staight Talk AT&T sim.
*EDIT* I downloaded Dialer One and that seems to work
@Snarlster, how did you edit the APN for data?
TBH I think so far the features of stock are more rich

It should be found in Settings--> More--> Mobile networks--> Access Point Names

You need to create an APN in "Access Point Names". (press + sign at top right)
You should only needed to set the Name (You create name) + APN (supplied by provider), here in Iceland they provide this information on their webpage.. can be fine to add more settings but this is the minimum (at least here).
*remember to save, I missed it at least the first time but you got to press the 3 dots in top right and press save.
After that, search for networks, if error then restart and search for networks again.

Good luck with that, I just threw my work phone's SIM card in the tablet, dont use the phone that much so it was perfect, now I have a work tablet instead of a work phone... but I can receive and make phonecalls and texts, I'll just have to find that blootooth earpiece I have somewhere and that should be perfect

can we go from the experimental to this one or should we start from scratch?
i get the bootloop too? could it be from using the apps package from the experimental build?

When this happened to me it was because I didn't know to downgrade the radio to ZV8. Once I did that the ROM booted OK.
CAUTION backup your modem and EFS before you downgrade so you can restore them if you want to go back to a newer stock ROM- EFS might not change but modem for sure. I spent a whole day with "no service" trying to get back to ZVE which has been all round best for me.
Ok after some extensive research I finally got it working with the latest nightly jan 20th. I wiped everything except internal.. Flashed the cm12 then zv8 radio.. Wiped cache and dalvic and it booted fine.. I then proceeded to install the appropriate gapps..

Sooo- I'm no developer but I can tell you what worked for me. We're starting from different working roms and, except maybe for the recovery, can't imagine this matters. I am on stock ZVE, Dorimanx bumped kernel V9.55KK and bumped TWRP 2.8.3.1
1. nandroid backup and modem backup
2. wipe standard wipe and system
3. flash ZV8 radio from here- http://downloads.codefi.re/autoprime/LG/LG_G2/G2_modems
4. wipe dalvik
5. flash CM nightly (works with 20150120 didn't try older ones)
6. wipe dalvik and reboot
Probably a couple of extra wipes in there but can't hurt. Hope this works for you.
I expect good things from this rom- Shelnutt2 always did a nice things for the Optimus G my last phone.
Thank you
Just wanted to start of saying thanks to @Shelnutt2 for posting up the thread. I'm not sure if you are just going keep the thread up as a place for discussion around the official build for our device OR the CM maintainer that pulled the lucky LS980 number, but either way, thanks!
I came from the December 26th dated alpha build that @Rashed97 did for all the G2 variants and it ran good, few things here and there, but it had been my daily driver since Dec 28th and I've been happy since then. Was apprehensive about flashing the nightly builds because it's usually a regression at first BUT I have to say, so far, so good. My good friend and teammate @thoughtlesskyle and his themes pushed me over the edge, I just had to get the Theme Engine so I could try them on my own device so here I am, on CM12 Official nightly 20150128 and love using the THEMES! :good::good:
All, CM's built in SU control doesn't play nice with Titanium Backup AT ALL (ie, your apps will not restore) so you'll need to either just install SuperSU from the Play Store and update binaries as OR flash it when you flash rom.
Things that did not work in the Unofficial CM12 build that I noticed myself were:
1. No SIM Card warning on lock screen
2. CM Messenger app *send button did not work so app was useless
2a. MMS were not able to be received (not even through Google Messenger app)
3. GPS (well, not like that really worked on stock anyway.....
4. Sometimes system volume would just go to zero requiring reboot to restore
5. VERY hard to get the device to connect to Spark B41 networks (but had SOLID B25/B26 performance)
5a. Mobile networks setting would change on it's on
6. Theme Engine missing
7. Speaker phone didn't work, would turn sound from caller/video chat into very garbled unrecognizable output
8. NFC was SOOOO broken that it required manually deleting the NFC folder from system to keep from 100% wakelock
9. I'm sure other odds and ends but all in all, no show stoppers and I've been quite impressed with the CM12 start for our device
Now, I'm about 1hr fresh on the official build and can confirm that of my list 9 items from unofficial, 2a and 6 are fixed. I'll update as I spend more time with the rom but I'm looking forward to more good things here.
Finding Lollipop for my phone thoroughly made my day. Truly. Thousands of thanks to shel and whomever else got this here.
Flashed 1/28 clean with ZV8 radios via TWRP 2.7.0.0. Way quicker and better-looking and -feeling than stock.
GPS , MMS (with Google Messenger) and speaker work for me.
I've had no trouble with the built-in SU (I dig it), but I restore with ROM Toolbox Pro, not Titanium.
Send button on stock Messaging doesn't work for me either.
It does read "No SIM card - Sprint" on lock screen (as well as during the CM setup process).
Bluetooth works, but texts cannot be read by my car (as they could with stock and most, if not all ROMS on my N5).
Haven't touched NFC. Cheers and thanks again.
If you want the remote from lg, here is the thread for the remote to work on AOSP.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2929146
I've been using it in resurrection ROM for a while now. Since it is from the g3, it has a newer look.
I may come back to cm12, but haven't taken the dive yet.
May wait to see what else Mr Rogers finds. I know cm messenger has been unable to send since the beginning of alphas. Would think they could get that fixed. Also, for a limited data guy, not being able to shut off sprint data has been a issue for me.
Especially since I've heard d802, can shut their off with the toggle.
Looks like using any system profile mutes notifications. Can't get 'em to come back without a reboot.
I'm on the 26th version and just about everything seems to work fine. Sending messages works, sim shows up fine (using consumer cellular [att]), etc. Only thing that I'm curious about is UMS (usb mass storage). My car will not read an mtp device but did read usb mass storage when I was using my motorola atrix (using its internal sdcard, no external card required). Anybody know how to make it work in this rom or should I give that tmobile kk rom a shot (not sure how well it'd work on att)?

Scratch that. GPS isn't working. It can locate me when I'm connected to Wi-Fi, but not otherwise.
Screen is stuck in portrait orientation.
I can't get back to my stock backup. Same thing happened on my LG Optimus G: can't get back to AOSP without a total format.
i apologize for posting here, but i came across this thread looking for cyanogenmod 12 for d803. I saw on github you are a contributor. So, i was wondering that if it was even remotely possible for you to build d803? i know it could be a hassle for you thank you for your hard work in building for the beloved g2.

Got it. Had to clean-flash 2/1 to get screen rotation working, though.
Tried wiping caches and flashing 1/28, then wiping caches and system. Neither worked.
Still, I'm the happiest camper I've been since I've had the G2.
