There are always going to be some forums that will have exceptions that we will still oversee like having international variants or a CDMA sub forum.

Sorry, missed this somehow. Normal rules apply, you need permission of the dev with the original ROM, credits given, no adfl y links to the ROM.
Thank you,

So I've done the whole search thing, and XDA now offers a cool display of related threads when I start a new one...but I haven't found something related to Cyanogen Mod 7.1 for our variant of the GSII.
I hesitate to flash cyanogen because 1. it's not stable anymore (according to their forums), and 2. our model of the GSII is arguably not like any of the other GSII's because we have a different chipset.
Had anyone tried to flash cyanogen mod onto this phone or does someone know that it works?
Thanks in advanced!
10-22-2011 EDIT: So people don't need to sort through the clutter, the answer is no there isn't CM7.1 for the T-Mobile variant of the GSII and no one should attempt to flash the one from cyanogenmod's website for the GSII.
Thanks for answering my questions!
Cyanogen mod roms are built specifically for each device. Don't ever try to flash a build from another device. Even the ATT and International galaxy s2 have differently builds even though they're pretty much the same phone

I believe CM isn't even available for our phone yet. Only for the other SGS2 models.
Sent from my SGH-T989 using Tapatalk
DO NOT attempt to flash roms that were not specifically made for our devices! The ONLY roms that are safe for the TMO GS2 can be found here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=1332
Thanks for the information. I thought that would be the case.

Yeah I am a smart guy, thanks. I helped out the OP by telling him that CM isn't available yet. What did you do? Oh well, thanks for trying to contribute though.

None of the unlock solutions from the market work on our devices. If you are a T-Mobile customer, you can call in and request the unlock code, otherwise you can get it by faxing in your sales receipt. There is a good discussion of the topic here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=18643213

My statement was in reference to the GSII only. Users reported too many bugs...but again that's not for our GSII.
If you check their forum there is no more "stable mod" link to 7.1 for the GSII.
The mytouch4g should be fine.

I apologize to you if my question was naive. At least I didn't go posting in the developer forums.
The development seemed active enough for this device that I was considering there was a chance of availability. I'm also not rushing or demanding anything from the developers/developer community. I also give thanks and donate to them.
Other's have graciously answered my question, and to them I say THANKS.
so I'm about to order the SPH-L710 and see this

Why punish us Sprint folks even more? We're already dealing with Network Vision issues all over the place, and now everytime I open up General, I have to stare at the word 'biznatch'.
Why would you do such a thing, why??!!

Since most carriers use sim's for their LTE....how does this work on these phones since ours dont have "removable sims" Just curious.
If I were you, I'd buy the world version and go to StraightTalk/others for $35 a month.
You'd be saving a bunch in the long run. In 24 months, you will have saved $800.

Development is for Development as in a rom you made or ported not for questions. If you took a moment to read the rules you would know this and I wouldn't have had to post a comment at all.

Ok, I know you're not going to like this, so please stay calm... In the "Features" section of the post (which you so emphatically told the OP to read), it says that in Aroma you can choose the carrier:
Aroma Feature's:
-Carrier Selection (Vzw, Att, Tmo, Spr)
...
-Carrier Specific App Selection
-Carrier Specific Kernel Selection

I have no idea if the d2spr version works, but please do a bit more research before berating people who are asking questions. At least he asked before flashing, instead of an "oops, I bricked my phone, how can I fix it for free" post.
To the OP, I was actually looking into installing this a day or two ago, just haven't had the chance to yet. I'll let you know if I decide to.

Just to add on to what he said, even know a lot of things would not work, seeing as it is a Verizon s3, it would not brick his phone. It would boot but data and other things wouldn't work. I'm not saying to go flash other carrier ROMs, but I'm saying it wouldn't "brick" (hard brick) like flashing an international ROM as you claimed.
Also *you're.

I really want to try the flashable Photosphere camera listed on the Rom. As far as I'm aware, it won't mess anything up, so I'll try it out and see what happens (of course, I have a nandroid from this morning just itching to be restored). We'll see if it works better than the one I tried installing before (very limited settings).
The dev replied over on that thread:
sprint is still a little buggs give it til next build and i should have everything fixed

For the most part, Joe0113 is a pretty chill dude. A lot of us (myself included) are just frustrated with the amount of bricks we've seen lately. Whenever someone asks about a rom from outside of Sprint Galaxy S3 forums, it's easy to assume they haven't read very well.
I have seen a lot stronger vitriol on here recently, but I tend to think it's due to frustration, not character flaw or general jerk-itude. (except for that Topherk... man, what a jerk!)

Google is your friend here. Remember as in all CDMA ROMs there are carrier specific files in there that need to be replaced or modified to work properly on another carrier. Also best to post these questions in it's own thread in Q&A and not in this thread.
Thanks
