I've been looking on website for the past days trying to find a ZenFone 2 (ZE551ML) when I look at the specifications it says it has a Intel Atom Quad Core Z3560 (1.8 GHz) processor not been able to find the (2.3 GHz) processor anywhere is this a mistake the websites have made?
Does anyone know where to purchase the (2.3 GHz) variant in the UK or dealers who ship to the UK? Also is the 32G device sold with 2.3Ghz
If so is there a real difference between the 2.3Ghz and the 1.8Ghz ??
try darty.com i can see they sell in france, not sure if they are shipping to uk, or do they have stores in UK.
The 2.3 is only in the 64GB version.

Ah I see then I'm guessing most people got them missed up, I was watching many reviews and they said 32GB with the 2.3Ghz, Couple Amazon reviews said they got 32GB with 2.3Ghz

That depends on where it is from. For example, there are both 64 and 32 GB versions with the 2.3 GHz cpu here in Japan.
As for the OP's question regarding whether there is a real difference, I believe the gpu, cpu architecture and base clock of the 3560 and 3580 are identical. The difference is just in the Max boost frequency under load. I doubt there is much notable difference in everyday use - a bit faster for heavy tasks, at the expense of a bit heavier battery drain?

My phone is from ASUS.fr and is 32gb , 4gb ram and 2.3ghz and WW of course.
I am posting this in hopes that it will help others to pick the right model for them. If any of the info is incorrect, let me know. I put this together based on my extensive research prior to purchasing the version I have. Asus really screwed up on this phone with the various confusing versions and even the name of the phone being Zenphone 2.
For example, I have the TW based version and its 2.3ghz with 4 gigs of ram and 32 gig storage.
(ZE551ML) 2.3 ghz with either 32gig or 64 gig and 4 gb of Ram (Intel® Atom™ Quad Core Z3580, PowerVR G6430) - with a 1080 HD IPS Display (403ppi)
(ZE551ML) 1.8 ghz with 32gig and 2 or 4 gb ram (Intel® Atom™ Quad Core Z3560, PowerVR G6430) - 1080 HD IPS Display (403ppi)
(ZE550ML) 1.8 ghz with 16gig and 2 gb ram (Intel® Atom™ Quad Core Z3560, PowerVR G6430) - 1080 HD IPS Display (267ppi)
NOTE that the 2.3 ghz version is the only one compatible with Quick Charge capabilities. The 18W BoostMaster adapter is included with 2.3GHz/4GB ZenFone 2 model only.. Asus states that the phone will quick charge to 60% in no more than 39 minutes.
Here are the different versions available on the market (that I know of)
TW = Taiwan
WW = World Wide
CN/IN = China and India
US = USA
JP = I have not been able to find much info on this as the JP (Japan) version is just starting to show up
These are the LTE Bands from the ASUS website to help make sure you get the correct one for your area/carrier:
4G :
FDD-LTE: (TW)
2100MHz(1)/1900MHz(2)/1800MHz(3)/1700MHz AWS(4)/850MHz(5)/900MHz(8)/700MHz(28)
FDD-LTE: (WW)
2100MHz(1)/1900MHz(2)/1800MHz(3)/1700MHz AWS(4)/850MHz(5)/2600MHz(7)/900MHz(8)/800MHz(20)
FDD-LTE: (US)
2100MHz(1)/1900MHz(2)/1800MHz(3)/1700MHz AWS(4)/850MHz(5)/2600MHz(7)/900MHz(8)/700MHz(17)/800MHz(20)
FDD-LTE: (CN/IN)
2100MHz(1)/1800MHz(3)
TDD-LTE: (CN/IN)
2600MHz(38)/1900MHz(39)/1900MHz(40)/1900MHz(41)
Also I have confirmed that the phone can take a 128gb micro SD card even though it says 64gig MicroSD on the Asus web site. I took the 128gig MicroSD card out of my Note 4 and tried it in the Zenphone 2 and it worked perfect!

Don't think that's right, as according to the spec sheet on the Asus site even the ZE550ML (720p with 1.8 GHz processor) supports fast charging with boost master adapter (not included)

I know for a fact that the 1.8 ghz 4 gb of ram ZE551ML version does not support fast charging as I had that unit and had to sell it because of that reason alone. I am not sure about the ZE550ML, can someone that has that unit confirm so I can update my post?
Thanks
If you are in the UK, then you can purchase from the European Amazon sites.
Italian amazon appears to be the cheapest, they have the 32gb 2.3ghz 4gb ram version for EUR345, which comes out under £250 with shipping.
Also, this is sold directly by amazon, so if you have issues you are covered by amazon returns policy.
I bought the phone from there, and it turned up the next day.
Unfortunately it had a fault (see my thread for details) so had to get a replacement. But that was simple enough with the aid of google translate.
If i had imported from China i would not have been happy!
Hopefully my fault was a one off, and the replacement will be a good as i would expect from the specs.
I got mine from eBay but got the 1.8 4Gb ram 32gb version ordered mine on Tuesday 12th may and came 2day

Hi,
I see we can get the ZE551ML with two Intel variants : Z3560 1.8GHz and Z3580 2.3GHz. I think the cheapest version would have plenty of power for my usage (no games or very simple ones like 2048 ...), I merely like to browse the web when I'm outside (other than use the phone to phone !).
But the ZD551KL gets a Qualcom S615 with 8 cores and slower speed. Does anyone know how it compares to the former?
And about SIM cards, do both of these phones allow to "listen" for incoming calls on both SIMs at the same time? My goal would be to put personal and professionnal phone lines, and I just NEED to get incoming calls from both lines, not enable one at a time ... (don't understand the principle of standby dual sim)
Thanks

If you intend to use both sims, do not get the ZE551ML, Asus used subpar hardware on sim2 and is only capable of 2G with data blocked. 2G is being phased out and is already being shut down. In about a years time you will be left with a single sim phone. It's not only about speed but what hardware they are using. You can have the best processor in the world however if it is connected to subpar and outdated hardware it means nothing.
Also Asus never updated their OS at all, just their firmware. Which is nice they push out updates, but I'm finding their constant updates are to fix the problems they created with the last update.
Find another phone, there are plenty of companies out there offering dual sim with up to date hardware in the same price range.
Hi, thanks for your answer, could you point me some samples ? I did a lot of research but couldn't find anything else featuring a Full HD 5,5" screen with 4Gb of RAM with a decent camera and dual sim for EUR 249 ...
Help, Root Zenfone Selfie ZD551KL???
I don't think it's the right place to ask this ...
Just do searches and go through everything. Amazon, Aliexpress. Being in France you're open to a wide range of phones because of your bands over the United States. If you just search Dual Sim 4G LTE 64gb or even 32GB you will see tons come up. You don't really need 64GB as long as you can put a data card in the phone, a 32GB will work just fine as I move apps over to the card to free up space anyway. The Allview X2 looks great, I wish it had our US bands on it.
The allview X2 soul has no NFC, no LTE, only 2Gb RAM, only 5" display, only one SIM, so definitely not suitable. The X2 xtreme is bigger with its 6" display and has plenty of options, but prices almost twice the cost of the ZE551ML I can find locally ...

That is the wrong model. Allview has different models and the one I'm talking about is the X2 Xtreme which does have LTE,NFC and has a 6inch display. Here the price is about same as the zenphone. Since we are in different areas, our prices are going to be different. You need to do a search and you'll find the different models out there.
First of all, to make it clear, the phone you are looking for has to have two modems (this is what makes phone "dual sim active" or "dual sim full active" one), and unfortunatelly Zenfone Selfie doesn't meet that requirement.
On the other hand, it's a fact that ZE551ML does not support data transfer on second SIM slot (which is a bit awkward since Intel XMM 2230 - the second modem, does support EDGE).
In fact there are very little number of models with DSFA and 4G on both SIMs. For now I can think of Lenovo Vibe X2-CU as the affordable one, and maybe Huawei Mate 7 and P8 (but, with those you have to chose whether to use second SIM or SD card).
So the HTC 10 does have a listing on amazon that comes with a US warranty and is listed as in stock. One of the sellers is NGP store USA. It says get it by May 2-5 with expedited shipping.
On their site they are selling the 10, the GSM bands and everything matches up with HTC.com, but they do offer gold with a white face as one of the color options which isn't an option on HTC site. I tried calling them today but I got a recording saying it was after business hours (even though they're in Seattle and it's 3:30 there). I'm going to ask if it comes with a US warranty and of course if they'll price match HTC.com
Anyway has anybody ordered a HTC 10 from them? Or purchased a past device from them?
For anyone interested,

I don't know anything about them but you do lose the $100 discount so the price is higher despite the other color options.

This is what I am seeing under the HTC 10:
CPU Chipset: Snapdragon 820
Storage: 32GB, Micro SD slot
RAM: 4GB
Network Band:
2G/2.5G – GSM/GPRS/EDGE, 850/900/1800/1900 MHz,
3G UMTS, 850/AWS/900/1900/2100 MHz
4G LTE Bands 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7, 12, 13, 17, 20, 28, 29, 30
Those are the same LTE bands the HTC 10 has on HTC.com
Either way I wouldn't order before I call and confirm it works with at&t.

I was looking at the information regarding the gold/white version:
http://www.amazon.com/HTC-5-2-Inch-Unlocked-International-Warranty/dp/B01EADQ6DC/ref=sr_1_15?ie=UTF8&qid=1461887566&sr=8-15&keywords=htc+10+phone+unlocked
they are selling for $685, why would anyone buy from them?
Just got an email back from them, it's an Asian model. They assured me it does work with at&t though. It doesn't come with a US warranty and they won't price match HTC with the 100 off discount because they are very aware of the backorder situation HTC is dealing with. They do have it in stock and ships from US though.
I'm passing on it purely because of the warranty situation. For the last year I've owned a phone off warranty that now has hardware failure so I won't be making that mistake again.
I don't trust NGPstoreusa

Just received mine today, I was worried about Samsung having limited its performance to be on par with the Snapdragon variant in US.
In Geekbench 4 I get 3620 single core and 8691 multi core.

How about yours?
locked bootloader vs unlocked bootloader !!
I got 3729 single, and 8699 multi-core score. Pretty similar.
243.028 here
Edit: closed background apps, did a new test. 247.918 now

I am actually annoyed with Samsung policy in Europe. The exynos processor is very bad in graphic performance vs the snapdragon 845 version.

yes of course I have.... wait two years until the exynos versions could be faster than the sd845!

Qualcomm has a lock on CDMA modem patents, which is to say that Samsung can't build a working CDMA modem into the Exynos AP. To make the Exynos variant CDMA compatible, they would have to use a separate Qualcomm-licensed modem, which would both increase the cost and space needed inside the phone. They did this for the Galaxy S6 because they accurately judged the SD810 was a flaming piece of garbage, but for any other year, when the Snapdragon performance is basically equal to the Exynos in daily use (yes, even when the E8890 S7s left the S820-powered versions in the dust), they aren't willing to pay more and engineer extra space in the phones for it.

I always thought it sucked that AT&T/TMo customers were stuck with the same SD version as Verizon and Sprint simply because of the CDMA patents. I don't see why AT&T and T-Mobile couldn't just get an Exynos version for the rest of the world, and have a separate version for Sprint/Verizon and and other countries that use CDMA (albeit there aren't that many ...).
Granted, I don't know the numbers or patent laws involved, but one would think at least the the straight GSM version would benefit from greater economies of scale. Then for CDMA, it could use either an SD processor or a Qualcomm modem. I mean, is it really that much cheaper to pay for a CDMA license in EVERY SD version sold in the US and Canada, regardless of the network it ends up on, vs keeping the CDMA version as a niche product for the carriers/countries that need it? Or does Qualcomm have a few WCDMA/LTE patents in the US and Canada that forces Samsung to use SDs?
It reminds me of paying the "Microsoft tax" for a new PC when you want to run Linux and never Windows.

can anyone confirm if both version got fm radio or not, because on s8 snapdragon fm radio can be enabled, but none for s8 exynos

I don't think the CDMA argument is valid for Canada even, as up until the S7, they used the Exynos variant. I imagine that Samsung Canada was pressured by the American arm to switch to Snapdragon as a show of conformity, and that Canadians simply got the short end of the stick (well not this year, since the E9810 is quickly turning out to appear much worse in efficiency than the SD variant according to PA and AnandTech) as they get the snapdragon variant simply because they're next to the US.
No call recording on Exynos version sounds like so SD for me
Anandtech review is up. Some big issues on exynos.

I live in the US but I just purchased the Exynos version because i saw reviews online showing the battery life was better than the SD845 version. WTH! I was going to take my SD version back because I cant get through a full workday on this phone without charging. Im a pretty heavy user but I could get a full day with my google pixel 2. I even saw reviews putting the S9 ahead of the pixel 2 and almost as close as the pixel 2 XL. This S9 is amazing in every way except the battery.

It's a S9 non Plus Exynos vs S9 Plus Snapdragon.
I have finally ordered Dual Sim Z2 Play from Amazon and i have received it today. I opened the Sim Tray, and i am bit confused as it seem it's not the dual version. Can you please check the following pictures? If an owner of the dual sim z2 play can see this thread and verify me about this. How to host the 2 sim cards? As i see a plastic black and then the area for one sim card. Amazon replied me that i have bought a dual sim phone, but till now seems not.
Thank you in advance for any assistance you can provide!
You bought the mono sim version. The dual sim in the sim side have two slot.
For example:
I tried to move a bit the plastic that exist on the sim 2 slot, and it removed, so now the tray is the same as the picture u posted. Though when i put the tray back, only one is recognized. I emailed again Amazon and their response is:
"
This is Prince from Amazon.it Customer Service, and It's a pleasure to assist you again.
Upon your request, I've double checked the "Motorola Moto Z2 Play Smartphone da 5,5 pollici FHD AMOLED, 4GB RAM, 64 GB ROM, Snapdragon 626 Octa-core 2,2 GHz, 12 MP Camera, 4G LTE, Android 7.1.1, Grigio Lunare" purchased in your order 408-4458000-8550715.
I found in the description that The phone is dual SIM with the ability to add the microSD (SIM1 + SIM2 + microSD at the same time).
So if you want to know more of the installing SIM cards way, Kindly follow the instructions of the manual book attached with the phone."
I bit confused of what is the problem
Are you italian? I'm also. Are you sure that you have bought the reteu and not the Tim version, that is branded and mono sim? The two version are both avaible in Amazon It, the Tim version with a lower price.
Send a screenshot of system info, to check in is reteu or a branded version. Above mine, where you can read "reteu".
However the sim tray in the two version is the same, with a cup to cover the second sim slot in mono sim, like yours. Obviously in the mono sim the second doesn't work even if you use the dual sim tray or, as you do, remove the cup.

Nope, just found the deal on amazon it wharehouse deals. I suspect its the tim version, as when i am trying to boot it, i see the TIM logo. I am just shocked a bit, that Amazon itself doesnt know what phone they sell
I will return the phone back then, its sure i can't enable it without going to other measures, like root, unlock the bootloader, etc right?

In the calale software, it says timit
In the moto z play i read in the past that is possible enable dual sim in mono version. On the z2 i suppose also but i don't know how. In any case the branded version have also other problem, expecially with Tim that is famous for their weird support of updates in their branded phones.
I suggest to you to return the phone and buy the right version.
If sw Channel is timit is the Tim Italy version

Return the device and if possible get some other device in this range. This phone is expensive with mediocre hardware.

For me this is perfect phone, amoled screen, 2sims + SD at the same time and most important - 3.5 jack! and I bought Moto turbo power first day, so 6500 mAh battery.
Point me to some other device that has it all with better CPU and stock android. Good luck

These were the same points i thought, but i could live without a memory card, so i would have gone for Oneplus 5 that time. It was not much difference moneywise but sepcs wise its better.

I was thinking about OnePlus as well. But the CPU in z2 play is not bad at all, handles all tasks smooth and it is not power hungry. Never had any unwanted reboot nor lags.
Anyway, I had some good phones lately because of my work, iPhone 7, X, android 6p, 5x, pixel xl. This is clear winner for me among them, may not be top CPU performer, nor the nicest (X was very impressive with its screen, but gestures and no fingerprint sensor ruined it for me), but build quality is comparable, and battery life with turbo mod is outstanding, bulky a bit but I favour it over thinnes of the other devices and no headphone jack, no sd slot, no dual sim.
