[Q] cm 10 - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy Note II

Is it possable to flash the n7100 [n7105] version of cm10?
Perhaps a modem flash on top of that before boot?
Is a kernel needed too?
Im on straight talk if that matters. Tmobile note ii ofcourse.

we need a kernel at very least before it'll work fully. you can flash it, but won't have any phone/data etc. and it can also cause you to lose your imei etc.
So for now we wait until more work is done to get us a working CM10/AOSP port.

Ok , since all the roms now are touchwiz . Do you think well lose Spen Sbeam multi windows < even though we dont have it yet. > maybe hdmi out functionality when we get a aosp rom ?

at first there will be lots of the touchwiz/samsung features that would not work on an AOSP rom, just simply because they are proprietary to Samsung. S-pen is known to work on some AOSP roms, but apps like s-note etc more than likely would not work. Any one who uses the S-pen, probably isn't going to want an AOSP rom.

Good to know. Thanks

[Q] ROM Compatibility

Maybe a newb question but if all the Galaxy Note 2 devices are the same (hardware wise), can we just take a N7100 or sprint or att rom, unzip it, and remove the radio.img and kernel.img and flash over our cleanly wiped stock ROM? I'm just curious what it'll take to get some of the better N7100 ROM's going on our device.

Basically,
N7105, AT&T, T-Mobile Note 2's are compatible with one another.
The N7100 ROMs will nuke other Note 2's because of difference is hardware. DO NOT install. In it's current form, it will nuke your IME and you will not be able to get any service (I learned the hard way).
Once the N7105 gets AOSP, the other should quickly follow suit due the congruent hardware platform.
so i can go to the att section of xda adn download whatever roms there and install on my tmo version without any hassle or modification?
Pretty much yes. You'll have to install a T889 kernel and Modem after you flash it. Unfortunately, the AT&T ROMS don't really have that much more offer us.
Sent from my SGH-T889 using xda app-developers app
So we have 3 versions?
1: N7100
2: N7105/Tmo/ATT
3: VZW/SPR
And the differences would be in kernels and radio's, but ROM's should cross?

Yes bur ROMs are not compatible across devices in different numbers (from your list)
I am going to start trying to build AOSP for the TMOBILE version. Hopefully something comes out of that. I'll need an AOSP kernel first.

Correct, they would need ported from 1 to 2, 2 to 3, etc... Whereas if they're in the same "family" all the differences lie in the kernel and radio. That stuff can be pulled out, reflashed on top, etc. Easy day

[IDEA] Port international firmware/ROM's to T-Mobile Note 2?

Considering the similarities between the domestic variants of the Note 2 and their international counterparts, would anyone be willing to test some of the success that the folks over in the AT&T forum have had with porting the international N7100/N7105 firmware/ROM's over to the T-Mobile Note 2
Check out these two threads over in the AT&T forum and see what you all think:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2016575
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2018411
The basic gist of the procedure is to use a custom recovery like CWM or TWRP to flash a stock N7100/N7105 firmware, and then flash your carrier specific modem/kernel.
Why would anyone want to do this? Well, for starters, you would benefit from built-in stock-supported tethering, and a few other features that carriers disable (YMMV). But mainly this means that the domestic versions of the Note 2 can benefit from the development of the international versions! So, when the latest version of Android comes out for the rest of the world, we aren't stuck here waiting for our carrier to catch up to everyone else...
So what do you all think? Anyone willing to try?
I have see this post on att

Actually, there is a port of cm10 for the ATT Note 2 device, it was ported from the official cm10 for the N7100 device by madmack. I'm running it on the T-Mobile Note 2 and to tell you the truth, it is very stable so far even if it's coming from a nightly build. Check out this link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2024495.
Once you go to that link, go to page 24 or 25 because you need to download 3 zip files in order for the rom to function correctly, also make sure to download the modem or radio because you need to flash that as well. Before you flash anything make sure to go to the OP for that rom and follow instructions thoroughly. If you're concerned for the S Pen functionality, don't worry, it works, I just had to download an app from the play store called Memo (which doest the same stuff as S Note.
Well if you wanna try, I don't have the time but .....
Here is some stuff to help you..
Do a Nandroid backup. or Titanium backup.
Do a full wipe,
Flash the rom you want, if given the option don't flash the modem
then flash Jedi-X Kitchen http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2106549
Then if you had to flash another Modem for that Rom then flash http://downloadandroidrom.com/file/GalaxyNote2/tmoroms/JediX/T889V_Modem.zip if that fist your PHONE (tmO)
I may do a video on it in Youtube if i get time but the omega rom was just taking too long to download so i am not trying it tonight.
I am going to flash Jedi X
Nite...
See you on yTube. http://bit.ly/YT-DL-SG

I just tried this, and while the Omega ROM flashed just fine, I had no radio signal, no data, no calls, and the phone would not recognize my SIM Card. That is after flashing the Jedi Kitchen and the radio provided in the link.
The Omega ROM looks pretty awesome, it would be nice to have it working on TMO Note II's.
Disclaimer:
I have to admit, I've flashed 4 different ROM's so far, and only two of them have completed the install. The rest have failed during the update, or caused a boot cycle. This includes the Jedi Master ROM. So it's entirely possible I'm doing something wrong.

ROOT BOX is an ATT ROM that works well
CARBON NIGHTLY | KROZ HUE THEME | CRACK FLASHER
It is actually posted in the n7100 that all roms need to be ported to us carriers and gives procedures on how to do so
Not saying the guys in the posts before mine are wrong but need to be careful when flashing n7100 roms without porting them the proper way

Hey did you ever try a complete wipe using TWRP as your recovery factory wiping then system wiping as well, I Also found depending on your SD card if you can back up your Sd cards Sometimes it is helpful to start with just the files you need to flash on the sd. Make sure that you only flash the correct radio. For me that was the latest radio I think its the second down in the list for the jedi kitchen part.
Feel free to contact me but I am very busy so I apologize ahead of time for being slow.
Can anyone answer if 4G and LTE is still working or is it 3G only? Are you able to still roam the same?

Is anyone working on a port from the tmo s4 to the tmo s3?? It is 4.2 TW isnt it?? Would love to see it..

I believe the international s3 is different from our phone. Theres's already custom roms for d2tmo for the s4 so i would say it would be easier to port from d2tmo S4 then it would be from the international s4

I know it's a different model, but wouldn't it be easier porting a ROM from a different S3, which would be more similar to our phone, than a completely new S4? I'm sincerely asking because I don't know much about porting and all.

Touch Wiz is Touch Wiz.. Tmobile is Tmobile. A Tmobile rom would be much easier to port then an international s3
the i9300 and t999 are to different due to the cpu . if you can trick the i9300 rom to think the t999 is the i9300 than maybe its pssible

Has Anyone Successfully flashed N9005 Firmware on Tmo Note3?

Wondering if anyone was daring enough to try flashing the International N9005 firmware on the Tmo Note3?
Looking at buying a Tmo Note 3 soon to run on ATT and would love to have it run the International N9005 Firmware (no carrier bloat)
If you have can you provide the details info? also will you get the updates like a normal N9005? any chance of an update containing a radio update that will brick the phone?
excuse the noobness of the questions, I don't normally tinker with good working phones. (currently running a genuine S4 google play edition) looking at a note 3 now....

SM-N9005 ROM on SM-N900T

I have a Tmobile Note 3 SM-N900T and I would like to know if I can flash note 3 international SM-N9005 Stock rom on my device.
Will this brick my device?
I believe it depends on the rom. Some devs list the models it can work with. Also only the devil of rom knows what tinkering they have done. You will loose Wi-Fi calling

Thanks for the reply! I am aware that both phones have the same hardware. So can I just flash the LTE international note 3 stock rom firmware on to my tmobile version? I don't want custom roms, so I was wondering if flashing stock rom would work.

Thought so, hey man since you flashed almost all international roms the ones that don't have aroma or manually install the international kernel, my question is even tho it flashes an international kernel while the rom installs it won't brick my note unless I boot up? After flashing rom right away uncheck reboot at the end of aroma(if any) then flash kernel/wifi>gps>bluetooth fix? All should be gravy?
