[Q] Phantom touches since Jellybean - HTC One X

I recently (yesterday) updated my one X to jellybean (official OTA ROM update) and since then it's suffering from phantom touches.
I tried everything I could think off, even a hard reset (btw, that also deletes your storage data, very nice to discover this afterwards) but even that didn't help.
It doesn't happen all the time but when it does it's seriously annoying.. it start apps, calls people, just anything that's on the touched place.
I turned on the development option for visual touch feedback and it actually shows the phantom touches.
I've been googling for similar cases but nothing useful except some broken digitizers.
If it were the digitizer it would have happened before the upgrade too, right? but it didn't, it started right after I upgraded.
It's not an app, I booted my phone in safe mode and it happened, it even happened during the first boot setup.
Any suggestions? Is there anything else to clear that's not cleared after a hard reset?

[Q] Input problems

Hey all, today I just started having a problem with my touch input. Sometimes, it won't register my touches at all, including the hardware capacitive buttons at the bottom. Sometimes, turning the screen off and on will fix it, sometimes it won't.
Other times, I'll get what people call "ghost touches"; the screen is reacting as if I was touching it in certain spots when I'm not. Honestly, I can sit back and watch as my phone uses itself (it's really creepy actually).
The weird thing is that this just happened out of the blue. This morning my phone worked perfectly fine; I had never seen this issue before. Then all of a sudden this started happening. I am using CM6 nightlies and I have tried everything. I wiped everything, flashed the new nightly, flashed a stock 2.2 ROM (with Sense), changed the NovaFreq values, tried a kernel without the FPS unlock, and the problem persists.
Does anyone know how to fix this issue? If it has been over 30 days since I bought the phone, will Sprint still replace it?

hardware problem?

hi, had my desire z about a year now, since ive had it, quite rarely ive had a problem of it seeming to have a mind of its own, for example, icons may be selected, or the home screen will slide accross by itself etc. ive always put this down to a trackpad problem.
the other day (after having a miui rom installed for about 2-3 weeks, which was fine untill now), it started acting up strangely, the above problem started happening, but more severe, also the touch screen and softkey buttons would stop working for periods of time (or stop completely untill reset), but screen rotation etc would still be working, which shows that the O/S has not frose and is still working behind the scenes (making me think its a hardware problem).
now, i think ive worked out that this seems to be triggered (mostly) when i open the keyboard. (as also, when the touchscreen stops working etc, sometimes, sliding the keyboard open and close several times, will sometimes seem to unfreeze the touchscreen etc, and will be back to normal, for a while). ive tried doing full wipe and reflashing etc, but i still have the same problems mainly when using the slide out keyboard, which again, makes me think its hardware (possibly keyboard ribbon cable?)
i really dont want to send it off as that means getting it all back to stock etc, and last time i needed the screen replaced, took 6 weeks to get it back!
if anyone could pinpoint the likely source of the problem, id rather replace the part myself..
would anyone have any ideas, as they would be very much appriciated... Thanks...
anyone at all?
I got 2 Zs meanwhile but dont have any problem with the keyboard.
But sometimes when its charging i got the same issues like you - no touch is working and the screens are sliding nearly automatically.
I think this has nothing to do with the keyboard...
Hope this had helped you a bit

thanks for the reply, unfortunately im still no closer to finding source of the problem, its intermittant, happened lots yesterday, not so much today, maybe the digitiser? its like there is another invisible finger touching the screen..
This would happen when i was on stock froyo, like it would cause the home screen to hang, but if i was ion an app it worked fine. I would use it to refresh of sorts when my phone was hung up or i need to reload my apps from sd lol. Sounds weird I know, but even with stock froyo i had problems with my keyboard but with the prerooted GB its as smooth as butter...
still going on, and getting more frequent, i dont think it is to do with the keyboard anymore. im now guessing it is the digitizer, its like someone is pressing an invisible finger on the screen, roughly in the center. it comes and goes, it happens for about 3 days, then goes away for a couple of days etc.
also there is very little info anywhere on the net that can help, including replaceing the digitizer itself
anyone ever replaced one on a disire z/g2?

[Q] Updated to stock JB - Now phone freezes/crashes

Hi all -
I'm on AT&T, 100% stock, non-rooted, etc. I upgraded to JB last night via Kies without issue.
However, ever since the upgrade, my phone won't go more than 5 minutes without freezing and then crashing.
It's a very odd behavior... the screen will still animate. So, if I'm playing a game with a timer, the timer will still count down. But all touch input (including menu/home/back) does nothing. Home/back don't illuminate or do anything, but they do provide haptic feedback. Power button does turn the screen on/off.
Eventually after a few minutes, the lock screen comes up with the "tip" even though I've clicked to never show it again. However, it barely registers a swipe to unlock when it freezes again. At that point, it will usually self-reboot.
I've tried to enable some of the developer options to see if maybe there was a rogue program that was incompatible with JB, and maybe causing the issue, but I couldn't see any correlations.
I really want to avoid doing a factory reset if at all possible, as I have a game that I worked really hard on to beat a few levels, and I'd hate to lose my progress.
Anyone have any ideas on what I can try?
I should note that uninstalling programs is iffy... sometimes it works, other times it just uninstalls indefinitely.
Thanks!

This sounds somewhat familiar to my experiences with JB. I rooted right away with the stock JB and had freezing / crash issues. So I then went pure stock and had issues (un-rooted). I then tried a custom TW-based ROM called BlackJelly and had issues. Now I am on CM10.1 which is AOSP JB4.2.1 based and things are even worse.
There seems to be no JB ROM that is stable for my phone. Getting very tired of this.

Strangely enough, my issue ended up going away. I think it was a rogue program that needed it's dalvik cache rebuilt. Once uninstalled, the phone worked great. Not sure what app it was.

Galaxy Nexus freezes while on network

Ill give my full story just to try and keep things clear as possible.
I recently rooted my Gnex and had no apparent issues. I was running ParanoidAndroid 3.15 and everything was smooth. yesterday, my phone started freezing at random moments. It quickly escilated to the phone freezing not on start, but once any app was used. Opening the app drawer, google now, text messaging, phone, etc. I whiped dalvik, cache, and it didint help. I did a factory reset and it still was freezing. I whiped the system, and reflashed factory OS, 4.1.1, unrooted, and the issue seemed to go away, but about 10 minutes later, it continued. Factory reset again, and couldnt make it past the activation screen without freezing. I went to the verizon store and reactivated my old DroidX ( the issue continued while at the verizon store). Now that there is no network active on the phone, there is no issue at all. Runs quicker than ever. Im confused as to this issue and google / forum search has given me nothing except topics that are about freezing or softbricking that dont really apply to my issue. I miss my Gnex and i want to reactivate it but not to just have it begin freezing again. Im running TWRP on my phone if it matters. I also was NOT able to collect any bug reports while it was locking up. It would even lock up on the power options menu. Once i reflashed factory OS, it would be inteligent enough to reboot once it realized it freezed but not before. The issue doesnt come up while on WiFi ( i had hoped it would for debugging purposes.) Any advice would make me happy as ball$.

[Q] GS2 Boot Vibration became intense, rattly, almost violent

I've been running CM10 stable for most of my time with this phone. Flashed CM10.1 Stable as soon as it was released recently. Everything was smooth and I encountered no problems. My one gripe was the lack of USB mass storage, so I attempted to enable it via this terminal command fix.
It didn't work, and instead caused me to lose all network service. I wiped/reflashed CM, and restored through Titanium Backup. All was well and back to normal.
Starting around yesterday, however, I noticed that the phone's vibration upon booting was much more intense than usual. It lasts for about half a second but is incredibly loud (regardless of surface it is on or if it is in my hand or pocket) and when placed on a flat surface causes the phone to move around for the duration of the vibration.
I tried wiping data, cache, dalvik, fixing permissions, and finally flashing the device back to stock ICS through Odin. When running stock, I changed the Sound>Vibration Intensity settings to zero for ringtone, notifications, and vibrate on screen tap. Results are the same.
This problem doesn't really impede my use of the phone, only really causes some annoyance upon booting and has me worried that this activity might break the vibration mechanism in the phone (as I said, it is REALLY intense).
Does anyone have any idea what is going on with my phone?

I really wish it were that simple
Lol sorry but are you sure its a problem or just normal vibration. It might also be a hardware issue where unless you can open up your phone or get a new one you might be outta luck
