Did you shut down your device then hold the BACK button while connecting it to the usb cable (while still turned off).
It worked for me that way but it only found the GB 2.3.4!

Maybe there is a problem with Sony's servers. I remember when I couldn't repair my phone with PCC because servers were down. Error message was similar something about no services available for my device or whatever. Just wait and try again tomorrow.
Or there is no firmware available for you via that app.
I only see .62 available there myself, so no wonder if you got nothing there.
I have the same problem!
I tried many rom and changer kernels!
but still device not recognized by Emma or sony Update services!
if anyone had the solution please share ..
I want to update to official JB
Thanks

Same here, with Xperia ZR. After update refuses to start (had battery issues before update; Android OS 89%, 8% per hour drain while sleeping).
I am not happy with Sony.

I have an arc s for almost 6 months now and im having a hell lot of problems with it.
My phone battery indicates that there is 15% charge in it and suddenly shows 1% charge remaining and shuts down, now wen i connect it to charge it charges from 15% and some times the battery toggles weirdly while discharging.Ex-i have attached the image.
I had ginger bread wen i got this problem so i thought i will do a repair using PC companion and since it had a ics update i had to update it, bt the problem persists.
I had this problem before also and had given it to the service center and they said its a software issue and did a reset and gave the phone with gingerbread again.
since i am having this issues reportedly my concern is if the phone has any hardware issue or the battery has a problem.
please suggest what to do.

If you are on stock rom and stock kernel, i suggest you flash an official ics rom via flashtool after full charge and see if the problem persists. Else root your phone and get cwm installed and wipe battery stats after full charge

Thanks for the quick reply.
Im on the stock rom and dont want a unbranded phone. my concern is if it is a hardware issue or not.
Is it possible to install cwm without rooting my phone.
Thank you.
If the problem is showing in both ics and gb then it's more than likely a hardware problem. To install CWM you must be rooted, so that's not an option if you want to keep it locked & stock.
When i had the same problem previously i gave it to the sony center and they had reset my phone ,after that it worked fine.Again if i give it to service it im afraid they'll do the same and give it back.

Rooting a stock ROM is harmless and it doesnt debrand your phone in any way. I was rooted on stock ROM myself for many months till i grew tired with the stock feeling. Anyways its your choice whether or not to do it, im just giving my opinion

Hey guys!
I have a Xperia ZQ (the brazillian model from ZL) and I've updated it for 4.2.2 last week.
Since this, when I turn on the screen, it automatically enters at lockscreen edit mode, every time, and this bothers me a lot.
It's something like this (I can't post links, so please remove the * from it) --> im*gur.com/*3PqnxEt
I think it's not a configuration problem, since I've tried a factory reset using PC Companion. Anyone knows about this, have the same issue or knows how to "fix" it?
Thanks, and sorry if there's any errors in typing.
PS: My phone is locked and unrooted, and the firmware ir the 10.3.A.0.423

Exactly. Everytime I turn the screen on afeter locking it, it's on edit mode. So I have to hold on a second 'til I can unlock it normally. It's not a big problem, but sometimes it's annnoying.

Hi,
Been using an Xperia M since Feb 22, and yesterday I experienced a touchscreen 'crash' for the first time: It seems as if no touch is detected. I panicked and eventually reflashed kernel and reinstalled CM (as per this) - problem solved (but lost data).
Just now the problem happened again and I reflashed kernel only, which fixed it.
I'm a noob, so what's going on here?
1) This is a software problem, right? Since reflashing kernel fixed it.
2) Is this some kind of problem with the CM build I'm using (see link above)
3) Is there anything I can do to prevent this from happening?
Thanks for any help!
Well the same thing happened again. Kernel re-flash did NOT fix it this time.
Does anyone have any idea how to prevent this from happening? And anyone who may be able to explain why this happens?
Thanks for any insights
EDIT: A few reboots later it's fixed again. (just reflashed kernel). The previous times rebooting did NOT help.
in deveoloper options have you set the animations and transistions and durations to 0 ? i found this caused my touchscreen on my old x10 running cm10 to stop working
Sent from my C1905 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
No I haven't set those options
Ok, so, some updates.
I switched from PecanCM's CM11 build to FreeXperia (311), but the problem still happened, just a few hours back.
Maybe it's just some app that's not playing nice or something, but I have very few apps, and nothing weird, so I don't know what it could be.
Anyway, turns out that if I reboot the phone through Flashtool when the touchscreen is frozen, it FIXES it.
But if I "reboot" by removing and replacing the battery, or through SMS TASKS, this does NOT fix it.
Maybe this is useful to someone out there, and I'll post here if I ever figure out the problem
Well, maybe it's a hardware problem after all...
After about a million reboots, the problem persisted this last time. It even persisted after re-flashing boot, re-flashing ROMs (CM11 / FXP311/312, as well as Sony stock).
Guess it's back to the store...
Unless anyone else has any suggestions??
Thanks in advance.
Sony repaired the phone in 10 days, pretty fast!
They replaced a bunch of components, the touch screen and related stuff, so it seemed.
It's working now. Hopefully I won't have the same problem in 3 weeks.
As a final thought: Whenever the problem was "active" the touch screen also didn't respond in CWM recovery, so maybe that was a giveaway that it was NOT a software problem, but a hardware problem?
Thanks and hopefully I won't be revisiting this thread...

I relocked it first. I unlocked with Flashtool and then could easily relock with Flashtool as well.
Anyway I wasn't charged a thing.

That's great. I thought that because you were giving your IMEI to Sony to unlock (at least with the official method), even if you relocked it they could still check.

I think there is a problem with system partition. So you should system repair by Xperia Companion.
If you have rooted device firstly relock bootloader before system repair otherwise Companion wouldnt accept device to repair.
Or you can flash stock rom by using Flashtool. but be careful about FSC scripts.
