[Q] Unlimited Video Recording? - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy Note II

Hello,
Does anyone know how to get unlimited video recording on T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy Note II?? I thought it would stop when the memory card was close to being full instead I only seem to get 30 minutes of recording and it turns itself off.
Is this normal? I would like to get unlimited video recording if possible, my setting are on normal and on 1080.
Thank You
Businesssuit

I could be wrong, but I think it limited to 4gb files size on FAT32 format. Check the file size of that 30 minutes video of yours.

You are correct

You are correct 3.99GB and on 1080 I get about 32 minutes and 720 about 47 minutes.
I suppose currently there is no way to override this. And I just need wait until some can hack into it.
Thank You for your reply

Hey sorry it took so long to get back to you, I formatted to exfat which took hours it seemed like. But that didn't work either I still get around 47 minutes on 720 and about 30 minutes on 1080.
Do you have any other ideas?
I am grateful for any assistance!

Then I guess it's not a file size limitation and probably a limit that was already set by the app.. Maybe there is a development hack that can be made

By default there is a 2mb limit, you have to mod the ROM if you want to raise it. Either that or lower the quality of your video so you can fit +1 minute into 2MB

[Q] SD Cards. can we make them larger?

can we make a 2 gb sd card think its a 8 gb or 16 or 32 or 64 OR 128????

You could probably make a script for that, but to get the actual size, you would still need to buy it... So why dont you save yourself some time?

Yes. Fake SD cards are very common. Why would you want to do this though? It obviously wouldn't actually be any bigger.

And they say technology changes fast, we have been stuck in the 32 gb era for almost half a decade now.

[Q] Sprint - how much space left?

I've been looking through the Q & A forums for a while now, but since all carriers have been mashed together it is a lot harder to find what one needs. With that said, I know the answer I seek is here somewhere, but even search has failed me.
I am curious how much space is left over on the Sprint 16gb model after the first boot? I saw an AT&T screen show showing 12 gig or so.
12 gigs for the Sprint version too.
Sent from my SPH-L710 using xda app-developers app
Hey,
I am with Rogers and have the same amount showing as well....
Thanks for the quick replies.
I think I they should really have more memory then listed to ensure you get that actual amount being sold, if you putting 16 gig in them but making 12 available, then install 20 gigs so you get the full 16 gig... my tab is same way it's a 32 gig but only 28 shows avail...

Although that makes sense but that's just how it is. Just like if you bought a laptop the OS takes up some of the advertised hard drive cap.

Yeah, I'm sure they're not exactly top-of-the-line, but for this price I can blow some money just to see. I'll just back up my SD card more often and won't keep anything irreplaceable on it just to see how long it lasts. :cyclops:

How long will the note 2 film?

I'm trying to catch someone who's been vandalizing my truck. Hoping I can leave my note 2 on filming my truck all night plugged into the charger. Is there a limit to how long of can make the video?

It would depend on space available, and video quality. If you are recording average quality to a 64 GB SD card it should record for a few hours.

Here is my findings. Recording 1 minute takes up 125.1mb. This means it will fill up a 32 GB SD card in 4.26 hours which comes out to 4 hours and 16 minutes.

This is correct! But the fact the he'll get more recording space. You give up quality of image, for space.
But you can just use a usb otg, then use a
64gig flash drive which is less expensive and your good to go!!
You may want to also check this app out because then your screen can b off. While recording

Yes don't need to give up too much quality though. I'm sure recording at 720p won't be a big drop in quality. Maybe 480p but best way would be to test it out, OP
So somebody is repeatedly vandalizing your ride? That's not cool at all and I hope you can catch him on tape. I would be linking my note to my laptop via otb and recording at highest resolution because you will need to prove who it is to the coppers, and a fuzzy recording won't do.

Have you looked for a wifi streaming app? Something like that may be better in this situation. Doing a search in the play store revealed a few that could do the trick.
Good luck catching them!
Try 480 p... and use 64gb card or 32... just start it as late as u can..... or honestly maybe just buy a pc camera or camera system. .. there are some going around for undr 120 $... lol use it for a few days take it back for a refund lol

Another choice would be to take a look at Motion Detector in the Play Store. It detects motion, naturally, and might do what you want and not just record everything. My 2 cents

Another app will take time-lapse pictures. You can set the interval to any increment you need. I used my phone to record eight hours of volunteers building a house in Mexico and it became a four minute video on Youtube.

The house build link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5upuu-6D6d4&feature=youtube_gdata_player
So.... Did you find out who's doing it?
