My camera failed last week after installed Microsoft Tag app. And after that, every time I touch the camera app, the black screen appears for like 3-5 seconds, I have to wait until the black screen disappear to take the picture. I searched and everyone suggest that I should send it back to Samsung for warranty. I already wiped the whole system, and Odin, but the camera still fails sometimes. Is there anyway to fix it? Or I have no choice but to send it to Samsung?

I get this message, depending on the ROM, when I try to take pictures sometimes. Usually it seems to happen after I've rotated the phone once the camera app is opened up.
I haven't really been able to find a solution to this. Any suggestions?
Hey,
I have this weird issue on my HOX, it started this weekend and it's SUPER annoying.
First, some background: 3.20.401.1 software version, all stock HTC and untouched, CID is HTC_001.
The problem happens every time I launch the HTC camera app - sometimes the message appears before I take the first shot and sometimes the message appears after I take the first shot. However, as long as I'm in the camera app, the next shoots won't cause the message to appear, if I close the camera app (capacitive "back" button), Sense completely reloads and every attempt to relaunch the camera app and take another photo (again, only the first photo) would cause the message to appear again.
What can be the reason for that? It pretty much makes me think more than twice before I take a picture...
Is it possible that my phone is running on low memory? I have attached a screenshot from HTC Task Manager, just in case
I want to try and find a solution before going all the way with factory reset.
Please, if you have any creative idea, I would love to give it a try.
First of all, go to application management and clear data of the camera app.
If that won't work, do a factory reset. The final resort would be to send the handset back for warranty repair.

Thanks for the advice.
Tried clearing the camera data and restarted my phone but Sense keeps crashing when shooting the first photo.
Guess a factory reset is inevitable.
Hope it's not a hardware problem.
New Nexus 7 2013, unlocked and rooted with NRT v1.7.2.
Camera does not work
Any ideas please?
Today I also installed all of my apps, and downloaded the maps and data associated with them, which has taken pretty much all day.
Now I thought I'd have a play, so I decided to take a camera, as that is one of the new things this Nexus 7 can do over my previous one. All I get is a dark grey screen with just the camera controls on it. I can get the on-screen pop-upcontrols to do clever things like change the auto white balance, but NO PICTURE.
If I flip to the front facing camera, it takes a while, but usually gives me a picture, which at 1.2m is pretty awful on this wonderful screen.
If I then flip back, the image stays, and the camera app freezes. Occasionally I have had a message saying "can't connect to the camera". Twice I've had a message saying that the "gallery isn't responding". Well, there is nothing in the gallery.
I've searched here, and found forum threads elsewhere suggesting reboot, or use Permissions Manager to allow access to the camera. The permissions were OK but I removed them and restored them just in case. Rebooting has made no difference.
My last ditch will be restoring to factory settings, as I've spent 5 hours installing my apps and data. Just doing a backup, then plan a nandroid backup so that if I do have to reset, I can hopefully restore how I am now.
Well...you could carefully pop the back off and make sure the camera ribbon cable is seated properly...

Ah well, the supplier changed it, and the new one is great.
Hi @ All
i have a big problem with the duo Camera every time it says the lenses are blocked but my hands are far away from the lenses. i tested a lot close up shots same error message, outdoor shot with a lot of light same message.
best regards
I'm having the same problem..
I just got my M8 today, played with it for a couple of hours before unlocking the bootloader. Restored titanium backup after unlocking, everything was fine until I opened the camera. I keep getting the "duo camera blocked" warning, I tried taking pictures for an hour straight but the warning persists and I can't use U-focus or any other duo feature on every picture I take.
I'm on stock ROM and recovery and unrooted. Tried to restore factory settings, no success. Just updated to the newest firmware (1.54.401.10) via OTA but still no working duo camera.
Did you find a fix for it or did you send it back for repairs? I'm a little frustrated because I unlocked the phone before noticing the camera problem...
I have the same problem
I bought a brand-new Samsung Galaxy S22 from Samsung this week. Last night, I used the phone camera to both 1) take photos through Instagram and 2) take a video call with WhatsApp. I did not turn off the phone over night and as far as I am aware, the phone did not update or restart.
As of this morning, the camera completely fails to work. The app crashes and gives "Warning: Camera failed" on each attempted launch, and other apps with permission to use the camera cannot use it either. I have tried using the camera in safe mode (still fails) and have cleared the cache and data and restarted multiple times, all to no avail. I have also reset to default settings.

I am really at a loss here. Did Samsung sell me a faulty product? It worked 12 hours ago and the phone has taken on no physical damage that I can see. Insanely frustrating and I've been through all of the (mostly AI-generated and spammy) help pages, all of which offer the same tips that don't work. Does anybody have a solution?
Try a hard reboot.
If that doesn't get it, factory reset.
If that fails... get a refund or new replacement.
