Hello,
23 november I flashed the newest version of Cyanogenmod 10 on my HTC One X and it works very good!
Because of garanty I had to flash back to the stock rom.
27 november I flashed again the newest version of Cyanogenmod 10 and I have 2 serious problems.
With the version from 23 november I had around 3,5 hours screen on time and with the version from 27 november I had only 1 hour screen on time before my battery is low. There is no draining app when I look by Settings --> Battery
And when I'm playing a game like Bike Race, GTA, Shine Runner, Temple run ...., my phone shuts down automatically after 5min playing.
The temperature is around 49 celsius / 120 Fahrenheit. So that isn't the problem.
Every day I update CM 10 with OTA to the newest version but I still have the problems.
Does anyone know the solution or the reason?
do a battery calibration.
this can help:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/...xLDEsImNvbS5uZW1hLmJhdHRlcnljYWxpYnJhdGlvbiJd
remember to fully charge your phone before you calibrate battery.
Currently Im doing the battery calibiration.
I hope it will works.
But the problem with gaming?
The battery calibration works perfect!
Thanks!
But the gaming problem isn't resolved..
I think it is an software problem in CM10.
Not more people with this problem?
With GTA Vice City I have also the problem..
3 Weeks ago i flashed back to the stock Rom and the gaming problem was resolved.
Today I flashed again CM10 with the version from yesterday but than I still have the problem.
More people with this problem?
The problem is that when I play a game, then restart the phone after 10 minutes again. The temperature is around 40 degrees.
CM10 is a very nice rom but this problem is really annoying.
That's the battery temperature, but what's the cpu temp?

Hi, just wondering if someone can tell me which ROM is best for battery life. I'm currently using blendkernel, is there any particular combination of kernel/ROM/baseband etc, not fussed about overclocking, just purely want it to last!!
Thanks
From my personal experience, the stock rom is the best for battery life, though I've switched to using arconium since it's just a tweaked version of the stock rom.
There's a few out there (that are just a tweaked version of the stock rom), so take a look in the development section and find one you like.
Using the stock kernel sometimes makes a difference as well (it did for me) so you might want to try that as well.
For me, using blendkernel, the ROM that optimizes battery and is 100% operational, is 【ROM】【LT15I/18I】Xperia_AniKing_v1.0.0_Ice Cream
for me till now i used only one room it's MIUI and till now it's fine
Ok, thanks for that, I'm going to give the Aniking ROM a go and see what happens...

Can the blendkernel (original for MIUI) be used for any other ROM? Like stock ROMs or even CM7?
I always thought that blendkernel can be only used for MIUI based ROMs....
I'm using the kernel from this thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1278760
Seems to work fine with most ROMs and I've found the battery to be much better than using Doomkernel...
Hi,
Just a few days ago I've installed the Miui rom on my lt15i as posted on
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1528924 with the 2.6.32.9-BlendMIUI kernel by Jason Stein. However in these few days my phone has to be charged every night after being unplugged for about 20 hours.
Today in 16.5 hours my battery has dropped from 100% to 15%. Most of the time the phone is in sleep mode and I've measured that the battery drained about 3-4% per hour while in sleep mode. The phone synch with 2 google accounts in the background and the screen brightness is set to 25%.
For the rest I've made a few short phone calls (about 10 minutes of total talk time), browse the internet for like 15 minutes on the internet forums and played about 10 minutes of Coindozer.
Is this kind of battery life normal when running the MIUI rom on the BlendMIUI Kernel? In "Battery use" in "Battery settings" I got these stats:
Cell standby: 42%
Voice calls: 21%
Phone idle: 10
Display: 9%
Wlan: 5 %
Opera Mobile: 4%
Android OS: 4%
The rest are just about 1-2%
Seems like I'm better off with the stock rom as most of the time I can get about 30 hours using the phone before having to put it on charger. Now I can only get about 20 hours
Anyway I would be happy if anyone can give me advise how to get more battery life out of my phone while using the Miui Rom, cause it's working quite neat in my opinion and looks very polished.
Regards,
Albert

You can try to undervolt cpu supply if your kernel supports this feature.
Also try to flash baseband libs (only for -36 and -64).
I prefer the stock based roms.. I personally like the XperiaMod but I have been using Arconium 8.0 from last 4 days and its battery drain is just awesome!
If u wanna have an ICS one, simply flash the KA 10 Ice Cream Sony.. Simply the most stable and best ICS rom till date!!
Hit Thanks if I helped u..
I recommend Arconium 8.0. It is basically the rom your phone came with, but it's a tweaked version of it.
I also found Miui battery friendly. I've been using DiMiui for a couple of weeks now, and I can't complain.

Well, I just got hinted that it is possible my battery needs to be recalibrated. Last time I flashed my rom, my battery was not fully charged. I've looked up on internet and indeed some articles states that everytime you flash your rom your battery have to be fully charged to avoid this kind of trouble. I'll try recalibarting my battery.

Lately the phone has been running warmer than normal. While on call or on a game it really heats up. I have to stop playing game thinking that it may blow up in my hands.
Is this a general problem with the quality of chip used by HTC?
Is this because of stock ROM?
Does this also happen on CFW?
Maybe u have a sg3...
Which firmware do u have mate? Just when we get the best benchmark with the new ota ...people , not seen in hox Forum start with problems.
Talk about ur hox so we can help.
Htc One X Venom ViperX Rom + faux123 s kernel + Rezound Mod
I'm in india ...
Running stock .3 since ...X is less than a month old n still exploring. Making sure all hardware is ok , cause after root warranty will expire.
I chkd phone update today ..but nothing for me, but I see few ppl have got .4 n updated sense.
no issues at all with mine....when you say it gets really hot does it only happen while playing games? and how long do you play your game for? also do you play games while charging your phone?
1: while playing game - no charging : after playing for 5-10 mins the back part below the camera and the ring of camera heats up, same happens on long calls....
Game : deck landing
Also long browsing on WiFi warms the phone. (Only occasional)..unable to narrow this down
2 : on charger : its not only warm, but its really hot. I get a little unsafe feeling. Game time less than 5 min.
Why do u think this is happening?

while charging i would not recommend to play games. also regarding when browsing though wifi it does get warm my friend.....but after a very long while....regarding games i mean i play only one game but it does get hot but not to the extreme that it would burn my hands
if it gets so hot that you can not hold it in your hands then maybe there is something wrong..specially if it gets hot after say two minutes....do you have other stuff in the background like facebook or twitter while playing the games
Thank u for replying.
I've cancelled all apps in task manager n tried and it still runs warm, but not hot.
WiFi is ocassional, so I cannot narrow as when and which situation.
My battery software shows the batt temp jump to 45 deg ...normal is 32-34... So I'm sure its definitely getting warm ....
Does rooting and installing cfw help?
Have you installed any apps recently? Seems like an app misbehaving. Use a battery monitor app to see which app.

You should update, I'm not sure if the new OTA is out in India check..
My One X was heating until I went 2.05+ based roms. They fixed overheating issues in the new ota. If the new OTA isn't out in India, you can unlock and get one of those new roms with 2.17 base or stock 2.17
cheers!
Send it back for repair, getting hot when browsing internet on WiFi is not normal. I'm browsing internet on WiFi for 2 hours for now and my hox is not even warm.

Hey guys can anyone help me getting 2.x roms please?
Also should I wait for the next update a d then take a call ?
1)Check for updates
2)If No update then decide if you want to unlock(s-on) your phone to try a 2.xx based ROM. That's if you haven't unlocked already.
or you want to give it to HTC
If there is no update and you do give it to HTC good luck!
If you're desperate and want to unlock and update then:
1)Unlock Phone
2)Install CWM
3)Pick a ROM and flash
There are more than enough stickies and guides in the HTC One X Android Development subforum. Help yourself.
My hox hat overheating auch, when play dead space, i have the update but still burning, please help,

Hi Guys,
Sorry to be posting here, but when i try to post under the dev section it keeps on complaining about not having to post 10 posts.
1st off let me say that CM10 is awesome.... I've been running CM 10 since p10 and had no major issues.
Since Alpha 2 i've been getting some heat issues playing games,
on p12 i could play for about 30min and didn't experience any problems.
it started on Alpha 2 where i would be playing angry birds, worms, dead trigger or even touch racing. and the phone will play fine for +- 5min and then just heat up and the games will jerk, to a point where it's un playable.
When i exit the game and go into system tuner the CPU temps are at 80 deg Celsius.
Any one else experiencing this ?

Try re flashing the rom and do a full wipe. Also you could try a custom kernel.

Thanks for the advise,
Reflashing alpha 4 with (full wipe/reset to default (wipe data/factory reset), cleared cache partition and wipe dalvik cache) didn't sort the problem, still games are jerking and system tuner said that CPU was at 90 deg.
Will look into flashing a faux or a franco kernel.
UPDATE 1: Flash CM10 Alpha 5 this morning, i played draw racing for about 10 min in a meeting this morning and there was no jerking at all, and the CPU never went above 75 deg Celsius. A big thanks to the CM team for getting me some extra game time will run other games too and give some feed back later today or tomorrow.
Update 2:
CM10 Alpha 5, is working much better with my phone. played Dead Trigger for 20 min during my lunch hour. and it was butter smooth like it was before Alpha 2.
Also noticed the battery drain is not as bad as it was on A2, A3 and A4. The CPU was at 78 deg Celsius after my 20 mins of play.
Over all my phone is much happier on Alpha 5 big thanks to the CM devs for A5.
---------------
Wondering if it might have something to do with the different CPU variants of the HOX (faux123 mention in his kernel threat) that's cause some phones to heat up quicker than others.
Dear Xda developers!
Around 2 -3 days ago I received a new update for my 4.2.1 note 2 (stability update for 4.1.2) They called it a stability update that was around 40mb big.
So happily I downloaded and installed the update simply via OTA. My note 2 is a German rom and it's not rooted and whatsoever. All stock. After the update later that day when I went to sleep with my device (the battery charge was 95 percent.
When I woke up, I only HAD 42 percent of charge!!! I thought the fu*k is going on? I checked the phone
... nothing was going on. No wifi, mobile data. Nothing was running. It just drained almost my whole charge for nothing. So I rebooted and checked all options. (which by the way I never changed since I own a note 2. I installed since beginning the easy battery saver app which was a nice help and avast anti virus app which is good as well. But since the stability update for 4.1.2 some apps behave weird!
Like Skype needs around 30 to 50 seconds but before it signed in, in an instant and some apps stutter from time to time. I uninstalled the easy battery saver app.. I want to try it without it.
I don't see much difference yet. Let's see what my first night without that app will be like. When I started writing this thread, my phone was on 98 percent. And after browsing and typing around a little bit for about 30mins I drop down to 87 percent!!! Just browsing and typing this message. (**** this) My 4.1.2 before the small update was awesome and was waaaay better on battery consumption. A percent would drop every 30mins.
So my question is, what do you think guys? Should I go back to the "original" 4.1.2? Has somebody ideas or Tipps? How about you guys? How's the stability update treating you?
I am ending this message with 85 percent.
Thanks for all future answers.

Well. .. have the latest version as well. I did notice that the battery dropping quickly. Same as your , but then somehow "stop" and going slowly from 85% down till 30%. Still getting around 30+ hours (2-2 1/2 days easily), so not complaining .
Another thing I have noticed that the drain is only "active" when using Internet over 3G.
If I don't use Internet have no problem use the phone over 2 days.

So Just to announce where I am coming from, I am a Sony fan for the past 4 years, Had the Z2 and was totally blown away by the battery life it offered. Then I got the Z5P and even though the battery performance was nowhere near the Z2 I still got through an entire day with it without issues so I was happy.
Then came the Nougat update and all hell broke loose. I am literally getting just 6 hrs of battery life since the update. And even when it is idle it still drains battery like atleast 2 percent every hour.
Also the charging is very slow. I have a quick charger that used to take the battery life from 0 to 20 in atleast 10 - 15 mins. But now it actually drains the battery if I am using the phone while charging. And yes I have switched off the battery optimization option.
Any help will be appreciated even if it is just a confirmation that I am not the only one having this issue, which will at least let me know that it is not just my phone.
There must be some process with corrupted data after de update which is constantly executing something. I recommend you to do a full wipe, factory reset

Oh did not know this could happen. Will definitely try doing a full wipe and see how things go! Thanks a lot!
I never fully trust OTA updates, because it keeps all the applications data and some special case of your current configuration maybe is not "converted" to the new version and causes the programs to behave weird. Have you looked at the battery usage? Maybe you find the process which a huge % of battery eaten, and just wiping that app data is enough

Thanks for the reply! Yeah I looked at the battery usage stats and no specific app is draining more than 2 percent of the battery over a charge. The only things that have taken most out of the battery are 1. The Screen On Time which is to expected and 2. The Idle Phone which takes around 15% consistently in every charge.

after updating to .372 , i learned from internet that this build has battery draining issues. ( i never faced any )
after updating to .376. , the phone is as steady stable as my other xperias (btw z5p is my 6th xperia )
now there is however a catch.
1. if you updated on OTA , this means the update of 1.2gb via ota only replaced certain files from .305 to make it .372 build (android 6 to 7) --- such OTA updates USUALLY ends up having problems (in general) with battery draining issues. Such problems i personally faced during updating from honeycomb to ics. - in short whenever update is available; always install FRESH
2. if your bootloader is locked then use xperia companion to install fresh after wiping all data. (makebackups)
3. if your phone is not rooted then try disabling all un necessary apps under Apps section.
----
Trivia
You cannot compare Z5p with predecessors like Z3/Z2/Z1 and Z since
1. they were always smaller in screen size / resolution and were not 4k
2. They stops at Android 5 / 6 as their last builds and battery life was awesome w.r.t consumption

however some of friends on XDA agrees that .305 (android 6.0.1) (came out dec2016) is the BEST build ever for z5p. addressed all battery issues and it was the final build for z5p on android 6.0.1
even i am thinking to degrade my phone due to ram consumption of N is very high!
this is why xzp has 4gb ram!
I need to know. If I updated my phone to .376 and it's having this lack of battery life, DO I HAVE TO SELL IT OR DISPOSE OF IT BECAUSE IT'S LITERALLY A LOST CAUSE NOW? (P.S. I immediately did a factory reset after the Nougat install completed.)
Because apparently if you updated to this build, then returned to the last Marshmallow build, THE PROBLEM IS NOT FIXED, and reloading nougat will only make things worse. And if you updated to .378, it not only does this not get fixed, it breaks your headphone jack to boot.
Please help. I am freaking out about this battery life. I lost 60 PERCENT IN 6 HOURS OF BASICALLY PODCASTS. ?

EDIT: Re-upgraded once again= battery 8 hour life. Go into About Phone, Status and disable battery optimization. The handset reboots and incredibly this morning it was like the old days .

Maybe I'll try that. The best I was able to do was 21 hours with one bar LTE, 6 hour's sleep, and 3h40m screen on time with several hour's worth of Pocket Casts.
i confirm that on build .33 i lost my battery even on stamina mode one percent every 10 minuets over using wifi , it just keeps the battery when device is screen off -_- its horrible i didnt have this kind of problem with .253 and im wondering revert back to MM
