[Q] HTC one X Root android 4.1.1 - HTC One X

I recently update my htc one x to android 4.1.1,
back then, my HTC one x was rooted,
but for the update, I needed to remove the root,
I did so, but I want my htc one x back rooted,
is this possible, and if it's possible, how can I root it?

FFS.... Search..

Sorry, but there's nothing in this forum that can help you.
Here, though, who knows?

We should probably specify why we can't help him here so that when people click the link they won't flash the wrong rom... This is the HTC One XL forum for att phones... The phone he has is an international HTC One X and the link above was for the HTC One X international forum..

Maybe you are using a rom that has a different splashscreen? Or bootanimation?

Have you replaced your HOX ?
i was running on the stock rom before and then i unlocked and flashed the custom ARHD rom and then flashed back to the stock rom .... but i believe that after flashing the stock and running it for 2 days i used to see the x but now i do not and yes the HOX was replaced but whats that got to do with the x appearing or disappearing? but anyways after the set was replaced i did all the flashing
I wasn't sure if I was imagining it, but I think the x was there originally and removed in one of the OTA updates. Not sure though.

They might just be using the same image or bootloader from other phones in the one series.

Rookie Rom Flashing Question

I have a funky software version and am in the US with without much hope of an update (I haven't had one update since I got my phone.)
I'm on 1.15.401. Is it possible for me to install a custom Rom or will the Rom I install have to be built specifically for my software version. If I brick I'm done for

....what the heck is a funky version of firmware?!
Is your phone international HOX or AT&T HOX...some more infos are very helpful!
I'm using the International one X (tegra 3).
Funky in this case = atypical.

If so...just follow rooting and unlocking guide in tegra3 forum and you're fine to use custom rom's.
Awesome! So the original ROM version doesn't matter.
Now to find the most battery efficient ROM.
You've been thanked.

If you're on 1.15.401.x there's a chance you have an S-OFF phone - in which case you're lucky! Just download the 1.29.401.11 for backup

i was sure when i bought this phone that we will not receive official 4.1.1 from htc... you know why? cause they released htc desire x, htc one xl, htc one x+ etc...
but why did you made a new thread? there already is a thread called "everything jellybean discussion"...

Going back to stock help

Hey guys my s3 killed its self yesterday so I grabbed one of these beauties today and I'm really impressed so far(maybe its the custom ROM).
Now I got the phone off a guy, had it he unlocked the bootloader, rooted, and gave me the phone already running 4.1(dirty 1.8).no back ups to even a rooted stock.
Although I love jelly bean this battery is killing me and I would really like to have at least a stock zip I can flash in emergencies.
I am so unfamiliar with HTC(nexus one was the last one I owned)thank I really don't want to brick it.
OK so my questions are these
I have the rogers version of the Onex is there certain builds I need to look for or are they all just HTC one x?
With HTC is there a fallback like with samsung if things go wrong at least there's always download mode and Odin.
Do I need to have my boot loader unlocked?
Thanks in advance
And sorry for the noobness I just can't kill 2 phones in a week

You can install apks by enabling unknown sources in settings without root.
If you unlock you can install custom roms and root.

You've done a mistake by posting on a HoX forum cos the majority here love their phones. Newly created account flaming? Original? No. Reported? Yes.
