Hey guys my s3 killed its self yesterday so I grabbed one of these beauties today and I'm really impressed so far(maybe its the custom ROM).
Now I got the phone off a guy, had it he unlocked the bootloader, rooted, and gave me the phone already running 4.1(dirty 1.8).no back ups to even a rooted stock.
Although I love jelly bean this battery is killing me and I would really like to have at least a stock zip I can flash in emergencies.
I am so unfamiliar with HTC(nexus one was the last one I owned)thank I really don't want to brick it.
OK so my questions are these
I have the rogers version of the Onex is there certain builds I need to look for or are they all just HTC one x?
With HTC is there a fallback like with samsung if things go wrong at least there's always download mode and Odin.
Do I need to have my boot loader unlocked?
Thanks in advance
And sorry for the noobness I just can't kill 2 phones in a week

Hello people,
This might be a very stupid question but I'm wondering if that would be ok?
I had a one x before and that one had a lot of issues.. I bought it in Russia so couldnt replace it since I won't go back in a while so I sold it in the UK and bought a new one (actually made carphone warehouse run out of stock by pointing out dead pixels in each one but finally got a perfect one and now I'm wondering if it will be ok to copy the latest backup from my old one and restore it on the new one ?

Yes as. Long as you have a cwm recovery installed and flashed the right boot.img for your custom rom you had on your old phone (check that they are the same version number of the rom).
Then you can restore it and you have it back running.

If your giving someone a backup make sure it doesn't contain any passwords on your data partition.

Maybe you are using a rom that has a different splashscreen? Or bootanimation?

Have you replaced your HOX ?
i was running on the stock rom before and then i unlocked and flashed the custom ARHD rom and then flashed back to the stock rom .... but i believe that after flashing the stock and running it for 2 days i used to see the x but now i do not and yes the HOX was replaced but whats that got to do with the x appearing or disappearing? but anyways after the set was replaced i did all the flashing
I wasn't sure if I was imagining it, but I think the x was there originally and removed in one of the OTA updates. Not sure though.

They might just be using the same image or bootloader from other phones in the one series.

I have a funky software version and am in the US with without much hope of an update (I haven't had one update since I got my phone.)
I'm on 1.15.401. Is it possible for me to install a custom Rom or will the Rom I install have to be built specifically for my software version. If I brick I'm done for

....what the heck is a funky version of firmware?!
Is your phone international HOX or AT&T HOX...some more infos are very helpful!
I'm using the International one X (tegra 3).
Funky in this case = atypical.

If so...just follow rooting and unlocking guide in tegra3 forum and you're fine to use custom rom's.
Awesome! So the original ROM version doesn't matter.
Now to find the most battery efficient ROM.
You've been thanked.

If you're on 1.15.401.x there's a chance you have an S-OFF phone - in which case you're lucky! Just download the 1.29.401.11 for backup

Hi all out there.
Is there a Chance that a dev may port the Galaxy s3 Rom to out htc One x?
I love the launcher...
I Know we already have an s3 launcher...
But i mean the complete rom
Would be Nice if a dev could answer me or may cook a Rom

The whole idea of having a onex and not a sgs3 would be no touchwiz or the like for me personally. And some sgs owners have always wanted to try sense on Samsung. Someone might do it but why?

So hey guts I just traded my one x for a gem nexus I am used to rooting and unlocking boot loaders and such I just don't know where to start and idk if this phone has an unlocked boot loader or if it already rooted can someone please tell Me how to check and what to do
I unlocked the boot loader on my one x and I bet nothing is harder than that BTW it was the s4 version
I am having a relapse from being able to flash Roms
There are so many here there were like none on the one x I just wanna know something that has the vest battery life and I know this question is redundant and it ends up coming to usage but I did so much research on the one x can someone please cut me some slack and point me on which ROM and kernel combo would give me the best battery and if the ROM is jb which I obviously prefer thNkyou

if on booting on the first screen the lock is unlocked means the bootloader is unlocked, head over to the dev section and use the toolkit in case u need it ..
If u have fast boot and adb just terminal fastboot OEM unlock super easy.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda premium
First of all, when you're booting and see the Google logo, look at the bottom of it and see if you see any unlock sign (lock that is unlocked)
For ROM, it's really your choice. I personally am in love with aokp black bean ROM, but battery is pretty average.
For kernel, trinity is best in my opinion. Not only it has great battery life, if you buy tool app from play store, it gives you do many customization that you need
