[Q] Problem installing Swiftkey_Flow_Public_Beta_4.0.0.54 - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

When attempting to install Swiftkey_Flow_Public_Beta_4.0.0.54.apk the download goes well but install page doesn't "function"...meaning, the install page for Swiftkey Flow Beta opens, but the Install button is inactive. Hitting "Cancel" or "Show All" works fine...
I've disabled (frozen using Titanium Backup) all anti-virus or security programs I could identify.
Install from Unknown Sources is allowed.
Samsung Galaxy Nexus
Android 4.1.2
Kernel [email protected]#1TueNov13 08:13:26 PST 2012
CyanogenMod Version 10.0.0-toro
Any ideas what to check next?

I'd start with re-downloading it again. Seems like a bad download to me

Could be a bad download. It works perfectly with both my tablet and my phone
Sent from my ASUS Transformer Pad TF300T using xda app-developers app

Tried deleting the d/l and downloaded again and again...used different browsers (Dolphin, Chrome, Firefox) and all have the same result... the file checks out fine, but when open to install, the "install" button isn't functional. The other buttons - "cancel" for example, work fine in the install program.
It really seems like it is a program blocking the install somehow. (Nothing else I've ever installed has been blocked). I'm bamboozled. Gonna let the Flow Beta go for now... wait for a final release.

MIUI 1.5.20 Market: "Unsuccessfull Download

Heya guys,
I successfully installed MIUI 1.5.20, seems to be working pretty fine except of the market.
I can't download anything, everytime I try to install an app (tried several), it starts downloading and immediately cancels the download with the message "Download unsucessfull".
I wiped all data and reinstalled it, but the error is still there.
I also tried these steps: www .techcredo.com/android/how-to-fix-download-installation-unsuccessful-android-market-issues
And I also cleared my SD Card.
Any ideas?

Q: I can’t download from the Android Market, why?
A: It is likely you have forgotten to toggle the download setting from within the Download app. To solve this, open the Download app and press the menu button and make sure to select “Download using Mobile network”. If the Wi-Fi option appears when you open the menu, select Wi-Fi, then press menu again and toggle to Download using Mobile network. This should fix the issue; if not, please post in the forums.
i still have the market problem and i the others solutions didn't work on my defy, any idea, please?

[N2E][1.0][1.0.1] TouchNooter 1.6.24

This will officially not work for 1.1
What it does:
Enables ADB via uRamdisk
Installs su and Superuser.apk
Installs Busybox
Installs Button Savior
Installs Go Launcher
Installs NookColor Tools (To Enable Non-Market Installs)
Installs Gapps (Gmail, Market, Youtube, Others)
System Files that get Modified:
/system/build.prop - Enabling Google Check In
packages.xml - Allows Gapps to install properly.
framework.jar - Should allow a proper Android ID to generate.
Changes:
June 24, 2011 -
Removed: Multitouch Permission
Added: Modified framework.jar
June 22, 2011 - Fixed: Script not running at boot.
June 20, 2011 - Initial Release
Before you begin:
You must already have a registered Nook Simple Touch
You must have a Gmail/Youtube linked Account. IF you used a Gmail account for B&N Registration you should use that one for this process.
You must either have dd (Linux) or WinImage (Windows) software.
You must have an external microSDCard reader or this will not work. Do NOT use the Nook Simple Touch.
You must have enough intelligence to follow instructions.
Let's get started:
Download TouchNooter from here: touchnooter-1-6-24.zip
Linux: Unzip and use dd if=touchnooter-1-6-24.img of=/dev/sdcard
Windows: Unzip and use WinImage to "Restore Virtual Hard Disk Image" to your SDcard.
Windows Alternative: https://launchpad.net/win32-image-writer/+download
Power off your Nook Simple Touch.
Insert TouchNooter SDcard into your Nook Simple Touch.
Power on your Nook Simple Touch.
You should see the screen "Rooted Forever".
It will boot like normal and you should be asked to select a launcher now. (If not use Button Savior to go home. This will bring up the launcher chooser.)
That was the hard part, now to the simple stuff.
Upon boot unlock your screen.
At the Android Welcome Screen skip Sign In.
Enable Location Services when given the option.
Connect to Wifi and launch Youtube from Go Launcher's App Drawer (Or the App Drawer of your Choice).
Click the Menu button (The right one in the middle of the status bar).
Select "My Channel" and Login using your Gmail Account.
Exit Youtube and Launch Gmail from "Extras".
Sync your Gmail Account and Exit. (If it fails to sync that is fine.)
Open up Market and Accept Terms and Service.
If you made it this far your nook should be successfully Rooted. Go Download an App to make sure.
Enable Non-Market Installs by running the NookColor Tools App.
If your Youtube fails to launch Uninstall and Reinstall Youtube from /data/app
Go to Settings > Device Info > SdCard > UnMount > Format
Thanks To:
Arnold Snarb - modified framework.jar
nemith - helping me figure out getting it to run at boot.
JesusFreke - For getting root.
MrMuffin - For the original Market Hack that we're using.
Currently Working On: TouchNooter 1.11.x
I've probably screwed up, but perhaps not too badly. Tried to follow all the steps and got the system files copied to media, and then to replace the main system files, but there I got confused. I ended up rebooting without attempting to install the youtube app, which I didn't find in the download. Even now, a lot looks like it is working, but I can't even attempt to sign in to google cause I can't get a keyboard to come up to allow me to enter my user name and password. Is there any help for me, or am I a total dunce needing to start over? thanks!
EDIT: I see I am screwed -- no keyboard is coming up for me anywhere. I guess I can go through a major reset but if anyone has a suggestion to just get the keyboard back I will appreciate it.
EDIT2: Well I got past that, simply chose multitouch keyboard instead of Gingerbread in NookColor Tools.
EDIT3: But now I am stuck again as I can't sign in to a google account... says can't establish a reliable data connection to the server, even though my wifi is fine. But at least at the moment everything else is fine, though the keyboard isn't working very well (but it does work; lots of ghosting)
An .img file is being uploaded for TouchNooter 1.6.20 It'll do all the copy and edit stuff, the only thing it can't do is create an android ID.
In the "GappsAndMore" there was some keyboards which were from the NC it was just a raw pull from AN. This is more refined with things that could cause issues removed. (Like Keyboards, Framework.jars from the NC, etc.)

I'd suggest a wipe and running TouchNooter... GappsAndMore had Keyboards and stuff in it and removed the stock keyboard =\
is a wipe in the nook touch holding down the power for 20 seconds?
No you need to do a complete wipe by triggering recovery, but I don't know how to trigger recovery yet.
oh well the perils of early adoption. I'll follow the thread with anticipation!

You could try 8 failed boots. Basically you power it on and then power it off before it fully boots. Do that 8 times and it might trigger recovery.
Confirmed this works great. I'm going to find a fix for the calendar.

TouchNooter 1.6.20
This doesn't seem to work for me at all... I tried restoring the backup image and starting from scratch and it still will not work. I tried enabling Google Apps manually and it won't work for me either.
I think I'm done, if the 7th time wasn't the charm then I'm giving up for now...

I ran this on my Nook Touch and it worked just fine. Are you getting the "Rooted Forever" boot screen?

I did a reset of the device back to the out of the box experience, registered with my BN account, shut down and followed the directions to the letter. I had no luck at all. It just shows the Rooted Forever screen, then boots normally is if nothing happened.
Sorry Guys and Gals. Entirely my fault. It seems a combination of my own forgetfulness and bad scripting (I forgot proper codes and methods used in AN) caused this just to do nothing. I'm uploading a version as I'm typing this and will remove "BROKEN" from the title when it's up.
Still broken. init.rc isn't running it's script properly.
Script can be ran manually with:
Code:
adb shell sh /sdcard/nooter/tmp/scripts/Nooter
Will be working on getting it to trigger properly

Anyone get DirecTV To Work?

I installed the tablet version but when I try to sign it it says "Browser Links Not Supported." I assume it's trying to load a browser window to finish the login process.
I can use the phone version fine (but you must use a mouse with this version which is crappy).
Anyone successfully able to login and get the tablet version to work on a FireTV?

Have you tried sideliading a browser like Firefox?
Did you get it to work please share
Sent from my XT1254 using XDA Free mobile app
Any luck? Getting the message that it's not supported on the device.
I sideloaded directv tablet v 4.05 but cannot get "authorized". after trying to sign in using the fire sticks pop up keyboard, the next step usually freezes the keyboard onscreen with no way to get it removed to click on the app's login button. have to reset the stick just to get back to normal operation. One time hitting the "next" button on the keyboard took me to the directv website (need a browser because apparently the stick sees the login button as a browser link) but the keyboard continues to stay onscreen making it impossible to navigate from there.
thinking about trying this one?:
http://www.amazon.com/DIRECTV-for-Kindle-Fire/dp/B00HEVAHAQ
It appears the APK is checking the name of the device and is prompting the "version no longer supported" popup.
The same APK works fine in a Bluestacks Android emulator.
Is anyone competent enough to edit the APK to remove the device check?

[Q] Can't seem to install .apk files?

I've been trying to install Game killer (the equivalent of CheatEngine on PC) except I ran into a very unusual problem. I've been using "Application installer". I would provide a link to the app, but I seems that the site won't let me.
The problem is that when I try to install the Game killer .apk through this installer app, I get to the usual permissions interface where I see what permissions the apk needs and all that. What's strange is that I cannot seem to click the Install button. I can interact with every other part of the screen, but I simply cannot hit the install button. Even pressing my finger onto the install button and then sliding towards the "Back" button will cause the back button to illuminate like it usually does, but I still cannot select the install button.
I'm running stock ROM, stock Kernels, stock everything. Device is rooted. I can install apps from google play just fine, but of course, Gamekiller is not on the play store.
I ran into a similar problem when I installed a screen rotation app. With the rotation app intstalled I could not install any other apps that were not from the app store. Once I removed the rotation app everything was fine. This a security feature in android to prevent apps from modifying your screen without you knowing it. Check if you have installed any app that could have modified your screen.
I had the same issue on mine, the app total screen control was the culprit. I couldn't get apps to install when TSC was active.
Are you using any type of screen filters? If you are, disable them and it should be able to work now.

Firefox 53.0.3 has broken the forum

After updating FFox to the latest this forum now only works when I right click links and "open in new tab" (or middle clock them, does the same thing.
Direct clicking a link has FFox just sitting there doing nothing.
Anyone else seen this?
I have not seen this at all. It has to be your settings
Just updated to Firefox 55.0.2 on Samsung Tab-A, stock device, using Google Playstore. This has completely broken Firefox, I cannot even open a bookmarked page. Tried all the usual tricks. I notice that the "settings" menu option is grayed out, and pressing "quit" menu option in Firefox does nothing. Application Manager says Firefox version is 55.0.2. This update of Firefox has basically *bricked* Firefox. I cannot even open a bookmarked webpage. Confirmed: I cannot open *ANY* page! Version on Google Playstore, where I updated, says version is also 55.0.2 (date Aug. 17, 2017). I just updated Firefox this morning. Previous version was 40.0.0.3 which worked well, and would play Flash video (with the last Android Flash driver Adobe made). I use (used..) the Tab-A + Firefox as my daily, go-to device, carried it around, linking to Wifi, trading, banking, email, etc. Firefox has all these critical bookmarks for me. This update has basically destroyed my device, as now, I can't even open a webpage! (Confirmed via Chrome that I have full web access, it works fine - EXCEPT, Chrome will not play Flash video, so I have NO access to my library of .flv videos. Arrgh...) I also had ABP installed on Firefox 40.0.0.3, and it worked well.
Posting this as warning: If running older Firefox 40.0.03 (which works well on Android 6.0.1), do NOT upgrade to 55.0.2 at this time. Date: Sept. 13, 2017.
