I installed the tablet version but when I try to sign it it says "Browser Links Not Supported." I assume it's trying to load a browser window to finish the login process.
I can use the phone version fine (but you must use a mouse with this version which is crappy).
Anyone successfully able to login and get the tablet version to work on a FireTV?

Have you tried sideliading a browser like Firefox?
Did you get it to work please share
Sent from my XT1254 using XDA Free mobile app
Any luck? Getting the message that it's not supported on the device.
I sideloaded directv tablet v 4.05 but cannot get "authorized". after trying to sign in using the fire sticks pop up keyboard, the next step usually freezes the keyboard onscreen with no way to get it removed to click on the app's login button. have to reset the stick just to get back to normal operation. One time hitting the "next" button on the keyboard took me to the directv website (need a browser because apparently the stick sees the login button as a browser link) but the keyboard continues to stay onscreen making it impossible to navigate from there.
thinking about trying this one?:
http://www.amazon.com/DIRECTV-for-Kindle-Fire/dp/B00HEVAHAQ
It appears the APK is checking the name of the device and is prompting the "version no longer supported" popup.
The same APK works fine in a Bluestacks Android emulator.
Is anyone competent enough to edit the APK to remove the device check?

Hey
Is anybody of you able to use the MagineTV App on your Fire TV?
I was able to install the .apk with adbFire and lunching it also works without any problem.
But then its necessary to enter your email and password to enter MagineTV.
This is were I fail , because selecting the windows were the password/email has to be entered can't be done with the remote control.

I haven't tried it yet, but I don't see why it wouldn't work? Although some apps are more Fire friendly than others, there's usually a way around everything However, the solution may not always be as easy or convenient as we'd prefer. And in this case, you may have to go the "old-fashioned" way by hooking up a keyboard in order to be able to enter the info that is required, or if you insist on remaining wireless you can now get a Smart Keyboard for a pretty fair price!
So in another thread it gives you the apk files needed to get the ouya launcher. I've gotten into the ouya store, but any game I try to download and install, complains that I need to enable "Unknown sources". My box is rooted which I thought automatically emulates "Unknown sources". I've seen the guy in the video run Bombsquad, and he mentions to "Enable Unknown sources". Anyone has this working, what needs to be done to get games to install and play on Ouya.

Need to go into Settings (from Original AFTV launcher) and System, then Developers Option and turn on Install from Unknown Sources.
If you have an earlier version of AFTV, then you need to do the SQLite method, do a search for it.

I had this same problem today...I coudlen't get the ADB commands to work...But I found out it's done via SQLITE editing ...so I did another solution
*buy* (or find) SQLIte Editor...(or an app that can edit SQL database files) and sideload it.
Download LanMote Lite from the play store(you need mouse support) and Sideload it. Once done RUN LanMote Lite and start the server (Free version is limited to 30 minutes so act quickly) On your HTML 5 device (preferrably a smartphone or tablet) [PC works but mouse is slow and wonky] connect to the same wifi as the FTV (if you didnt do it already) and open your web browser and put in the address LANMOTE will show on the FTV (example http://xx.xx.xx:9999) also enable different cursor.
Go to FTV home and go to settings>>APPLICATIONS >> your SQLITE editing program.
(in SQLITE Editor) Allow SU permisions and use your amazon remote (it works for simple navigation for now) to go to FILES TAB and go to
DATA>>>DATA>>>com.android.providers.settings >>SETTINGS.DB
go to the GLOBAL folder. You should see a list with different settings (BE CAREFUL)
(now this is where you need a mouse)
on your HTML 5 device (smartphone) go the MOUSE Tab and use the mouse pad to mouse near the entry that says INSTALL_NON_MARKET_APPS you will notice that default for this option is 0 (which means off/ disabled) Mouse over the 0 and tap the "click" button on your HTML device. you will notice the entire row becomes gray.
Use your Amazon Remote and click EDIT RECORD. cursor down to the 0 and change it to a 1
use your remote and scroll below it should give a CANCEL and SAVE button. Click save with the remote.
go back to home and enjoy sideloading unknown sources.

I'll try your method...phew, got tired just listening to all that has to be done...thanks
How's it going. I have a rooted fire tv on latest prerooted firmware. I have an application called tinyCam monitor pro. This application worked previously, however, I think that I relocated it to my flash drive on the fire tv via Link2SD, and then maybe changed where the drive was mounted. I'm only taking a guess at what happened, as now when I attempt to run the program I get,"Cannot Open App - The installed version of tinyCam Monitor PRO for IP Cam cannot be opened. Please check for an available update on your library." I also can't uninstall it. It doesn't show up under "Manage all applications" to uninstall, nor anywhere else I can think of looking. When I try to hit the uninstall button under the main Apps heading from the Home screen, the uninstall button disappears when I click it, and nothing happens. There is no trace in Link2SD either. I contacted the dev of the app and they told me to make sure I have the latest firmware. So, I was wondering if anyone had any actual ideas why this would occur and how I could fix it? Thanks for your time.

If you cant uninstall it than maybe you can just delete the file from system, side load ES file apk and install it. I had a similar problem with SuperSU which i wasn't able to Launch it or uninstall it so i deleted the file and side load SuperSU again OR you can try to uninstall using one of the adbfire utility tools.
Becareful what you delete!!!
Thank you
I had Google Play on my device when it was on version 3. Now that I'm on the latest version 5 software I went through the tutorial on AFTVnews and all seemed to work. My only problem is when I go to the app it gives "authentication required" error. I can see that it shows my account name in Play Accounts (or whatever it's called as I'm not in front of my machine at the moment), but I know since the version 3 days I have changed my password. So I'm assuming it's hung up. I can't find anywhere to reset it or a workaround. I see where someone asked here with no answer. Could use some help please. Thanks.
Hi,
I have Firestick 4K 2019 version, would it be possible to run subway surfers.
KIndly help.
Note: I dont have google play store installed on firestick yet. I request a solution without google play store.
Thanks,
If you have it installed on your phone, you can sideload it using apps2fire. Go in the fire TV settings, select "my fire tv", then go in "developers option" and finally, enable both options there, allow ADB and installing apps from unknown sources. Go in the apps2fire app, go to the "install" tab (the last one) then search for your device. Go back to the first tab, find the app you want to install, select it, then tap install. I can't guarantee that the app will work, as I don't think it's even in the android tv play store, and the app is made for screens in portrait mode. If it works some menus will probably only accept touch input, though you can sidestep that by using a Bluetooth mouse.
Thanks, I will try this and let you know if it works.
I am able to install the application but it didnt launch, I can notice that it is trying to change orientation.
Then installed set orientation apk and but the firestick in portratit mode , still no luck.
Anything else you suggest ?
Thanks for your suggestion
