Hi i had just flashed my phone back to standard rom with seus, and had rooted and was removing bloatware.
i used ADB Mask Controller for removing files because it was faster, but on the list of non essential apps i chose the ones a i wanted to get rid of, and accidentally clicked "delete all", because i thought it meant the all the files on the list. after that, i rebooted and the phone was dead, seus cant find it or anything, but now a day later when i press the power button, the led on the front blinks red a couple of times...
is it completely dead or is there a chance of getting it up and running again?
try flashtools
you should try bin4ry's flash tools it works most of times, there are a few tutorials around the forum but in general you just have to turn the phone off completely start flash tools select flash, select firmware and connect your phone pressing the back button just like in seus , also try posting problems like this in the general section, i know i'm no mod, but it helps keeping th forum clean , but don't sweat it, i think we all have done this when we started (i know i did XD)
Sorry if i posted it the wrong place, didnt think of other places cuz my bookmark leads me there.
Thanks for replying, but my problem is that i cant turn it on, when i press the power button, the only thing that happens is the led flashes red a few times.
Blinking red means that battery is empty. You can to charge it a bit with AC charger and then try to boot the phone.
yeah, sorry for the scolding , and i think it flashes red a few times because the battery drained, and flashtools is a pc program like seus, you don't have to turn your phone on, you connect it turned off, it is for flashing firmware to your phone and i recommended it because i think the reason your phone died is because of the missing apps, think of flashtools as a much MUCH better program for repairing your phone than the pc companion one or seus
also, here is a link to the main post for flashtools

edit: wiilweer beat me to it , and great port by the way, haven't tried it myself because my xrecovery is not working, but it looks great, specialy the 1000 in benchmark =O, excellent work men, thanks for the froyo port and your work
Thanks ill take a look at it again, hadnt seen the thread u linked now.
its been charging for a few hours and still just blinking... and it was at 100% when i started messing it up
maybe it is a stupid thing but...
have you tried
1) center hardware button + power for a few seconds?
2) disconnecting and reconnecting battery?
in the worst case you can try charging it with an external charger
but this means disassembling your mini:

The issue is not batery, its system files.
Do you have recovery instaled?
If no, download the flash tool and e10i firmware from this thread:

Happy flashing.
Looks like its working now.
it wouldnt charge the battery, so i took the battery from another x10 mini, and then i flashed it. pc companion could find it and flash, with power from another battery
Dunno why it wouldnt charge the battery, maybe i deleted stuff that had something to do with power management.
Thanks for helping, i was already looking to buy another phone.
Thread belongs in the general section.
i have the very same problem !! ... WHAT did u dooo 2 fix this ?? am hopeless
try charging it and not with usb, if it wont start, try an external power source.
does it blink red when u press power botton?
Just want to share this, I do not create this procedure, and I forgot where I seen this.
1. Open SEUS, one it ask you to disconnect and connect. follow the next procedure.
2. Connect your X10 mini or Pro. Disregard SEUS Procedure
3. Press the Middle+Right+Power Button at the same time.
4. Once Screen Goes Blank, release all button except the middle.
5. now you could Update using SEUS.
Hope that help.

if the procedure above is not working you should try to recharge the battery or use one from another mini charged before trying that cause if battery is drained you won't be able to repair firmware...

what is it doing?
I spent the whole yesterday afternoon and night and this morning trying to figure out what happened to my 'dead' x10 mini.
It has been lying there for over a year since I last tried reviving it.
Long story short, I forgot that I had flashed miniCM kernel on it. For some reason it just entered boot loop with Sony Ericsson logo and restarting and refused to charge. Then tried SEUS and Sony Update supposedly 'flashed' successfully, but I still could not get it to boot nor charge. Flashtool also was used to try a couple of other ROMs, until it dawned upon me I should flash back miniCM ROM since I think I had last used it year ago.
Voila it worked and I pressed BACK several times while the nAa logo came up. CWM was back. I jumped for joy... now I'm charging it and also downloading miniCM10 with gapps.
I really hope this helps - and that it would work for some of you out there in deep frustration. All the best! :good:

Looks like I went ahead of myself.
It managed to stay on in CWM... and I even managed to install update.zip and gapps, but once out of it the phone simply refuses to boot.
SEUS managed to flash stock ROM on it as well. However, even after leaving it hooked to the USB overnight (it only gets warm from this, not wall plug charger), it constantly looping in a flash mode (green LED) and then low batt mode (blinking red LED), it failed to boot up successfully on its own. After flashing the sony ericsson or custom ROM logo, it would go into a boot loop until the battery drains. Upon connecting back to wall charger, the first time it actually flashes real quick split seconds battery indicator of 2 out of 3, then go into the said boot loop again.
I really dunno if the battery's fried or did I do something wrong to hard brick it.
Good evening everyone,
I own a Motorola Defy, and tried to put the ROM "For Adlxmod Froyo Defy, "but I had the UK firmware 2.51.1.
It was there that a lack of attention, my phone now does not care anymore.
He only gets a white LED lit in front of him and does not happen any more, nor even acknowledge again by RSD.
I read in several places that this is due to firmware 2:51 and I believe I have given a HARD BRICK on my device.
Has some way to fix my phone without having to take it to an authorized?
I thank everyone's help,
Felipe

Thanks, I managed to settle with the tip given!
Hello Everyone,
My Defy run out of juce with a special 3400mAh battery from china in the night. When I came home I changed the battery (the stock battery) which was fully charged. After that the defy was stuck in a bootloop (cm7) but i did not recognize this for a couple of hours. Because of this bootloop I removed the battery and put it in again from that time on the defy was dead. Maybe I did not wait long enough - I mean I saw the bootloop and thought 'crap' took the battery out and stuffed it right in again (I was a bit frustrated). Maybe i should have waited at least 5-10 seconds before putting the battery in again?
I tried to get access to the defy by RSD lite. But the PC does not recognize it. I got a white LED by connecting it to the PC. The defy is recognized only for to seconds and than disconnects again.
I tried to flash via sbf_flash on ubuntu without any result. The defy is simply not recognized. Only white LED. No Bootloader, no recovery, no logo.
Has anyone a suggestion? Is there a possibility to get acess to the defy to reflassh everything. Since the white LED is active there has to be a way. What about JTAG and riffbox? could this be a solution and if yes - how ?
I bought a used iPhone4 last week. But honestly: I hate it!! I do not like iOS, I dont like the edges of the iPhone - it is so uncomfortable to hold it in the hands. Wifi connectivity and connection is catastrophic. I will sell it a.s.a.p. again.
I want just my beloved defy back - the only phone I ever loved !! I appreciate any suggestions - thanks in advance !!
Your "special" battery is not that special afterall
What happened to your stock battery? Just get it charged - ask a friend with a Defy to charge it for you or do the McGyver trick, in order to fire it up again and then flash your stock SBF via RSD Lite. Calm down - Defy is like a Terminator and is immortal (as long as you don't kill it by flashing wrong SBF )
Thank you for the reply. However I have a dockingstation for the defy with which I can charge the battery without the phone. The battery is full for sure!
Hope you are right that the defy is like the Terminator - I have not lost hope yet.
Any other suggestions ?!
If Defy doesn't even get into bootloader, this means there is no juice in the battery. No matter what crap one would flash, bootloader is ALWAYS accessable! That's the beauty of the locked bootloader - you can't kill it! So as long as there is charge in the battery, you can always get into bootloader (Vol up + Power) and flash a new sbf. Peace of advice: don't trust your cheap, no-name, chinese battery. Use the original one, charged in another Defy phone, so you can make sure it really IS charged. The fact you left it in an external charger, doesn't mean it is charged - battery might not be working, charger may not be working, or both at the same time might not be working. There is no reason not to get into bootloader if there is charge in the battery
Cheers!

It's blank screen problem, happens when you flashed an SBF older than your previous one.
You still can get into Bootloader, just nothing on screen but it's definitely in there. Then flash the right SBF, the same or higher build than your previous stock rom successfuly to fix it.
Which SBF are higher than other? It's about Bootloader(BL) version, read here. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=966537
If not sure, try DFP-231 builds, it's highest BL version to ensure fixing this.

Look, I've suggested to one who use Defy+, so I said he should try DFP-231.
But not for Defy mb525, you shouldn't flash DFP-231 or any 2.3.x SBF files to your mb525...
Now you've stuck to Bootloader V.7 and no way back.
What's done is done, stick to that DFP-231 SBF you've flashed for now.
Did your flash finish with "Finish/pass" or "Please manually power up phone"?
If it Finish/pass then try again on Stock recovery, you almost there.
But if "Please manually power up phone", means you're not yet flashed your phone completely...
So do this, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=38187413
Hi.
After I successfully installed the cyangen mod, i wanted to install swype and some google apps. that is when i flashed the nightly sbf...
Since then, I could not start my phone..., only the bootloader (no matter which volume key i pressed).
So I looked for a full sbf to flash and found one, with code 2.5... (jrdnem u3 2.51.1)
but now, I can not even enter the bootloader. the only surviving signal of my phone i get is the white led when i connect it to the pc...
the battery status was at. about 85 %...
I'm really sorry, but i would be very greatful to receive some help
ps. before i flashed the nightly sbf, i forgot to wipe this thing in the bootloader...
Well...in my desperate state I was not able to type in the right words into the search bar. I think I found the answer to my Problem... My only task now is to find a well working sbf 2.5...
I'm still confused. I thought I'm not, but- would it be a problem if i flash the nordic cynagenmod, sbf version 3.4.2?
I would not knwo why not, but after I have these problems, I dont want to do anything again without knowing the consequence...
If you could enter stock recovery. You can do full wipe and boot to bootloader to flash your previous working sbf. If only bootloader your get now, just flash the nordic sbf and boot it into stock recovery to perform the full wipe.

Right now, I don't even see the Bootloader or any Motorola-Logo. It just nothing happening, when I press the power button.
Your battery may well have run out of juice (same happened to me once upon a time). Leave it off, stick it on charge. Go have a cup of tea or two, then try again.
Alright. Now I'v had the time to check again.
Even with charging, the phone is still not turning on.
But I've read somewhere :" Don't worry, as long as you "see" your device in RSD Lite you can still flash the firmware. My big question is: WHICH SBF will help me? I#m really afraid to flash anything, because I don't now the consequence...
About the Cyangenmod: It said, it is not downgradable... does this mean, that I must take the JRDNEM_U3_2.51.1 sbf?
Hope this tips shade some light in your quest of resurrection of your dying Defy.
1) Use RSDlite 4.9 or 5.0 as these program known to be stable on PC.
2) Use the latest Moto driver 5.0.0 ver. Google it and you find it easily.
3) Install both the above 1) and 2).
4) Take out your Defy's battery, plug in USB cable on both ends
5) launch the RSDlite and insert the battery. You'll get some drivers installing and have the connected status display on the RSDlite window.
6) Flash the phone to this file HERE.
7) After flashed completed (At this point you won't get a normal boot yet, screen still black or stuck in moto logo), reboot into stock recovery and do full wipe.
8) Reboot again and you should be seeing it alive again.
Note: If somehow your battery run flat. You must do the Mcguyver trick to flash your phone. Do it quickly to avoid your battery get fried and damaged. I would suggest you brigde the wire connection to a 100Kohm resistor to bring down the voltage/current, this will protect your battery from getting fried.
Wish best of luck this time around.
Wow. Thank you very much for this step-to step guide.
Now, before I get started I have one question left: Can I also use the 5.1 Moto Driver? Or should I downgrade it?
I have the RSDLite 5.0 now, (before it was the 5.33 or so).
Those drivers should work too..
Sent from my awesome Moto Defy: Stock Rooted Gingerbread 2.3.3 - XDA Premium
I tried what u said, it's just that RSD does not recognize my phone, so I cannot even flash. I want to believe this is because the battery has run flat (which I don't understand, it still had about 70 % 2 days ago, when the whole story started...)
Please tell me that this is just the symptom of a low battery?!
Is it possible that the flashing has wiped out all firmware and bootloader and chargin system availeble on the phone?
My defy has the same problem. I have changed battery and a universal charger but i dont to know as resolve
I used the Mac Giver trick to flash the sbf onto my defy. It worked, my Defy is working again. Thank you very much
i bought this Defy+ just a couple of days ago and i was trying to get CM7. I struggled to root it but i achieved it. I wiped and did all the procedure before installing it, but i didn't had enough space on my SD, so i rebooted and booted like a brand new defy, going through the Blur config and everything... So i went to Recovery again, but at this time i forgot to do the wiping - which, i guess, led to a brick.
So i managed to get a .sbf to flash it.. What i didn't realized is that the .sbf was a custom, so i guess this ****ed up my phone even more. And so i went on trying to rescue my phone but this time i couldn't complete the flashing process, i wasn't able to perform a downgrade - i guess. After this, i got a non-rootable .sbf and began the flashing. The process got stuck on some message at 0%, then i disconnected the phone.
When i was able to download a stock firmware, from the .sbf thread, the phone wouldn't reboot when RSD asked, it didn't turn on again. So i tried to re-flash it, same .sbf and now i'm stuck with this situation: the pc is not recognizing my phone, i have a black screen - not even the Bootloader error screen is appearing and i'm here, begging, for someone to help me. is it dead? can i get it back?
HELP, PLZ
Is there any juice in the battery left? Does the phone even turn on or did you just drain all of your battery? If so, you have a couple of options - do McGyver or find somebody with the same phone and ask him to charge your battery and then start over. I would strongly recommend you take the second option.

Led is always on when connected to the PC - it means nothing. If it doesn't turn on, then your battery's dead. Find someone who has the same phone and can charge it for you.
I think there is no problem, but you flash older firmware, which is probably due to the 7 bootloader does not go up.

If it gets past the red m and just keeps playing the android animation then simply pull battery hold volume - put battery in and keep volume - held when you get the android and the triangle press volume + and - and wipe all, should boot, unfortunately you've just flashed the un root able sbf and are stuck on moto standard

Hello everyone
I have been a silent follower of xda from past 4 to 5 years and never had to ask for help
as I could figure out my way through when i get stuck untill now
My Xperia ZL loops on Sony Logo
My phone does enter FLASHMODE and FASTBOOT mode and im able to flash ftf Firmware without any errors in flashtool
but when it asks to unplug and restart my phone i get the same loops
I have tried yellow button Soft reset (stays in a loop after reboot)
i have tried yellow button Hard reset (Powers off after 3 vibrations)
I gave it to sony service here in India(Hyderabad) they are suggesting me to replace the motherboard which costs 24,000 INR/-(Seriously?)
i bought the phone 2 years back for 29,000 INR/- and now they want me to pay 75% of the price I strongly believe they follow their blind
rules of pushing the customer to go for motherboard replacement if they are not able to revive the phone after basic software flashing
but i still believe i can recover my phone if all the gurus out here can help me out
The phone still didnt go dead till now(some battery left may be still looping) ill try once again if the battery dies completely
EDIT:1
Tried flashing New 5.02 lollipop ftf, after successful flashing with no errors
unplugged it and tried to turn it on
Now red LED flashes 3 times but the device doesnt start
connected it to a wall charger and now i can see the kernel charging screen with battery symbol showing the charging
after some 7% charging indicated i tried to start the phone and the same inevitable loops with sony logo come back
Just plug it in and let it charge for a couple of hours, if it still bootloops, try Sony's Flashtool EMMA. I know people say it's ****, but it fixed my phone when I was in the same position as you.

sony service centre ! They never do repair on z series. If it's in warranty drop it on service centre .they will give you a refurbished phone.
IF warranty is over you can ask them .But i m 100% sure they don't do repair as many other countries.Depends where you live.
you can do it on your own @ your own risk.Remember battery is slightly glued underneath the screen.
Always remember to order battery with that cables and connection.
Sorry for long reply .But in this kind of matters we are frustrated & you don't want to waste money & our phones.
use button
use the tiny button beside sdcard press that untill 3 times vibrate and hold button vol down in flasmood mode
Try boot with USB cable connected to 1.5A+ charger with good cable.
No Hope guys tried everything im pretty sure its battery problem but the service center guys dont want to listen to me at all
all they want me to do is get it replaced for a new phone for 24,000 INR (360$) are you kidding me? for a Xperia ZL
Im even ready to give away the phone if someone wants to help me out
I have the same problem with my ZL. Service center refused to replace the battery, so I asked someone else to do it. That however didn't fix the problem. When I push at the back between the flashlight and XPERIA the phone will switch off. When I disconnect the battery and connect it again it will start-up again. I removed the screw below the camera module, as fastening that one also made the phone turn off. There is something wrong with the motherboard. I always had my phone in a flip case and it didn't even have a single scratch on it. First time it went of was while making a video. Possibly overheating caused this problem or damaged a circuit at the motherboard. Very disappointed, phone was just 2 month out of warranty, first time off was within but that doesn't count.

I was in the same boat as you with my refurbished ZL. Flashed anything, doesn't boot. Then battery full drained and only red light. Service told me it's motherboard circuit. I didn't lesten them, bought cheap battery and replaced it by myself: and Xperia worked like a charm but only 3 months ))) New (cheap) battery got trouble on GPS route suddenly. And phone worked only with power cord connected, shutdown without. New battery will again fix it )
