Hi everyone
I just noticed while being in the dark a red light to the right of the front speak (on the side where the camera is) is always on.
Why is this?
Sent from my SGH-T889V using xda app-developers app
I noticed it too. I think its an infrared sensor. Maybe so the stay awake and smart rotation features work in the dark.

Rebooting your phone should work to turn it off.
Turn off quick glance in settings-motions, that solved it for me.

It's the proximity sensor.
I use screenOn to save the power button. Like Rhiannon said, if you have quick glance on, it will also use it

This is a noise filter that blocks out unncessary background noise. It works like the jawbone bluetooth where you could be in a loud nightclub and still hold a decent conversation on your phone. Our phones come with the feature turned on but can be turned off if you desire. No need to worry about toggling it.
How do u turn it off besides toggling it

Mine is turned off by default. Every time I'm on a call I have to turn it on. Been trying to figure out for a while now how to leave it on by default

When you say it's "off by default", you're not confusing the slash mark as it being off are you? When you see the slash through the nose wave that means it's on

I'd like to know as well. Bringing this back since no resolution.
I want it off. Nowhere to be seem unless in settings.
Mine defaults to on all the time.
It seems that t-989 ROMs don't have it in the settings directly.
The i727 ROMs have it under settings > calls
Maybe some other way of changing it on the T-989

To change it you have to press Menu during a call and toggle it on or off

But every time I make a call or answer a call, it defaults to on. I don't want to do it on every call.
Hey all I have cm10 installed and there are two sensor in front of the phone. The one on the left closest to the g in Samsung is lit up a faint red. Not sure why and if someone let me know what going on.
Thanks

That's the proximity sensor it detects things like u putting ur phone to ur face during a call and shuts the screen off. It's normal I see it on my stock rom from time to time

Do you hava viber app? I got the red led after the new viber update just remove the viber and everything working normally

Any app that makes use of the proximity sensor will cause it to turn on. I think the last time I saw mine I was using a chat app that turned the screen on when the phone was touched.
Im being extremely picky but im going to ask anyway. Im comming from the s3. And the note2 blows it away In my opinion. Except for this 1 small thing l, and its bugging the crap out of me. When the screen is off and I press the power button why in the world does it take so long for the screen to come on.......I see no reason for it..phone is blazing fast otherwise. Anyone know of a setting for this? Or experiencing the same thing?
Sent from my SGH-T889 using xda app-developers app

Has anyone gotten light flow to work on the Note 2?
I get an error that airview has to be disabled and I wanted to use both if possible.
Sent from my SPH-L900 using xda app-developers app
Yes, you can turn airview back on after setting up lite flow. Also make sure all the led options are unchecked in settings-> display-> led indicator. Its been working fine for me. (I'm rooted on stock rom)
Sent from my SPH-L900 using xda app-developers app
Thanks....do I have to be rooted? Im assuming not.
Sent from my SPH-L900 using xda app-developers app
I stopped using light flow because it caused a 6+ hour wake lock, draining my battery.
Sent from my SPH-L900 using Tapatalk 2
You don't need to be rooted for light flow. I had bad battery drain issues on the GS3, but the note 2 has not done this to me.
Sent from my SPH-L900 using xda app-developers app
Anyone else notice that Light Flow can't seem to get the full level of vibration? Seems pretty weak compared to stock vibration level for notifications...
I found this also doesn't let the battery charge led work.
I had to uninstall it because it wouldnt let me use the Swype function on the stock keyboard while it was enabled. Its a shame because its such a great program. I loved it on my Galaxy Nexus.

I just picked up my phone yesterday and now I don't even have to press the lock button for it to work. I can just rub my finger on it. And its really annoying because it keeps turning off and on in my pocket. Is their a way to make the power menu show up when long pressing the menu button and then turning off the power button completely?

Usually that's something a app would do (or even a setting in your ROM).
Btw, we're missing some info here, what is on your phone atm?
I'm on the 3.6 paranoid android ROM. And really? I thought it would be some kind of hardware.

I'd suggest going in the PA thread and look at their features to see if touch wake is in there. Also, to look through your ROM settings.
What you mean by you just got it?
I just picked my phone up and it started doing it

Ah I see, read that wrong.
Anyway, I don't know much about PA but you should definitely look for those features.

I'm not sure I understand what you want. I though you wanted your screen to not wake from touch? If so, why would you want to turn off your lock button?
Either way, you can remap you hardware buttons but I don't suggest it.
No my lock button is doing the touching. Like I can slide my finger on my lock button and it turns on and off and it turns on my phone in my pocket and turns it off a lot. Its like the button is super sensitive.

Oh wow, I completely miss-understood you.
You button being extra sensitive it definitely hardware related. You might have to open your phone and clean it or have it replaced.
I've opened my phone up and tried paper in between it and cleaned it and all that. I don't even know whats wrong. That's why I just want to turn the button off completely.

Is the button loose? Or further in than it should?
And you can look into button mapping but make sure to backup your files before changing them. Also, you will lose power menu.
The button is the same to me. And yeah I wish I could just change something then turn it off. And no I changed my menu button to where long press is the power menu.
