Im being extremely picky but im going to ask anyway. Im comming from the s3. And the note2 blows it away In my opinion. Except for this 1 small thing l, and its bugging the crap out of me. When the screen is off and I press the power button why in the world does it take so long for the screen to come on.......I see no reason for it..phone is blazing fast otherwise. Anyone know of a setting for this? Or experiencing the same thing?

This is a noise filter that blocks out unncessary background noise. It works like the jawbone bluetooth where you could be in a loud nightclub and still hold a decent conversation on your phone. Our phones come with the feature turned on but can be turned off if you desire. No need to worry about toggling it.
How do u turn it off besides toggling it

When you say it's "off by default", you're not confusing the slash mark as it being off are you? When you see the slash through the nose wave that means it's on

I'd like to know as well. Bringing this back since no resolution.
I want it off. Nowhere to be seem unless in settings.
Mine defaults to on all the time.
It seems that t-989 ROMs don't have it in the settings directly.
The i727 ROMs have it under settings > calls
Maybe some other way of changing it on the T-989

Hi gents. Just upgraded to this awesome 747...but have a silly problem with the xda mobile app. Every time I hit the back button to close a thread it closes the app. Very annoying! This didn't happen on the old SGS Captivate. Anyone else experiencing this?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using xda app-developers app
I only experience this when the app is minimized, reopened then I press the back button.
But thats minor. Issue with mine is it rarely displays the pictures. Which is annoying especially when looking at a new rom

My problem is three fold. The app freezes when i open pm tab, it sometimes develops major lag almost to point of non responsiveness, and i can't upload pics with xda premium (have to use tapatalk to upload pics).
Make sure you dont have back to kill activated. It kills any app your in by pressing the back button. Development options

You may be right. Not sure if it's exactly the same but i remember a setting "when backing out of a program with the back button, it will kill the app instead of running it in the background." I'll check into it
Edit: found it. It's in development options. Both settings are. "Don't keep activities" is the one i was referring to. I just tested it and it will accidentally close the app when pressing back. It thinks you want to leave the app.

The real way to fix the home button lag is to go into svoice and disable home button in the settings .......its 100% faster try it and see
try it all guys nothing works ive turn off svoice and all that to .5 still nothing.

If you install a N705 ROM (like this one), you won't have this problem.

Hey all, the wake button lag was my #1 complaint about this awesome device. Maddening! I did the MB4 update to see if Albuquerque had lte yet (nope) but got this totally wicked surprise. Its close enough to instant wake now, before the wait was uncomfortably long. So even if you don't leave lte yet, don't wait for the ota just let kies make your phone better

Weird. Mine went from at least half a second to almost instant.
mine's pretty quick now
S Note is so much better as well. Opens the instant you press the button. The new widget is amazing as well. I love the update.
The only thing I'm worried about is the battery drain issue that came along with this update with the other carriers Note 2, S3 and other devices. Anyone notice it?

I've been reading about people saying the lag is gone but I still have it as well, when I press the power button there is like a .5 second delay before the screen actually turns on (has always been like this).
My lag is now gone also. It act's as if you press it twice because task manager comes up quickly.

So I'm not the only one who's been having this happen? It's actually kind of annoying that the task manager keeps popping up when I hit the home button. I thought it was only me but is there a fix for this or anything to stop it?
I'm having the same stupid issue! Man is it irritating.
This is the actual fix guys. See the screen shot. All you have to do is uncheck the home button activation for svoice. This has been a known issue since the S3

ummm i'm not sure if you guys are aware but there is a option in the setting that vibrates the phone if you have any new/incoming notifications while the screen is off, that way you dont have to turn the screen on if u dont feel the vibration... but if you do feel a vibration that means you have a new notification, excuse me if you guys were already aware of this future.

I'd also like to add that it doesn't have to be vibrating. It only ever vibrated when my phone was in vibrate mode. however if you turn the volume up, it would make a da da sound like a notification.
