I plan to trade my sprint galaxy nexus and the person wants it to be full stock. What is the simplest way to get back to stock rom unroofed and locked boot loader. Would it be the root toolkit?

http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1614922 and the above link. But, I am not sure if either would be the easiest for you, as you can't search or read.
Flash google stock image in fast boot or using a toolkit.

Is it possible to put together a full factory ODIN image for the gnex? Coming from a captivate, fascinate, charge and now the gnex. I found an Odin file was the easiest method to break a brick.

the most complete Odin I found was on samfirmware they have 2. Netherlands and Luxembourg, the lux has more files in it, I think it has a modem and boot loader where the other doesn't.

Just grab the image from Google and use fastboot.. no need for Odin.

Hi. Right now my phone is rooted but with stock 4.0.2 and I want to put it like out of the box stock and unrooted. Can I do this with the toolkit? Do I need to download the 4.0.2 version from Google?
What do I need to do?

You can do it with the toolkit or with Fastboot, your choice.
Download the images from Google and use either method.
Could I download the 4.0.4 image instead and use toolkit to flash it?

Yes you can.

I have the 5.1 version of the toolkit. Does it matter or should I download the latest version?

Yeah, take the latest version because it supports 4.0.4

you'd be better off using fastboot to flash the images... you wouldnt have to keep up with versions

Absolutely true... But it's ok to start with the tool IMHO, just start learning and try to find an answer to your questions and a solution to your problems yourself first before asking and you will learn...

So I have had my galaxy nexus for less than 24 hours. I was transferring some files over and when I was done I had shut off my phone. Now every time I turn the phone it freezes in the boot animation. I managed to get into the stock recovery and do a factory reset, but still the phone locks up.
Can I reflash the stock image? I would have to do this with fastboot?
Yes. Check the stickies in the development forum there will be guides on how to flash good luck. If I wasn't on my phone I would attempt to help more but I can't get to a computer :/

I was thinking of using the toolkit in the dev section to load the stock rom. I can only get to fast boot on the phone but that should be ok? Correct?
Yes, fastboot should be all you need.

If you want to learn how to do it, instead of using a toolkit, try a doing it yourself by using something like this.
Well that sucked... Tried the tool kit to reflash the stock image and now the phone wont turn on at all. So I'm off to the store tomorrow to return it. I think the internal memory must of screwed itself when I was transferring files from my mac to the phone, as it would never boot after that. I have never had internal memory fail on a phone before...
Instead of using the toolkit try odin

Instead of using a toolkit or odin, use fastboot/efrant's guide like he told you to.

Can you get into fast boot and flash a Google factory image?
Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
i can only get it into odin node, it wont fastboot or recover.
Which toolkit are you using? Wug's Nexus toolkit has factory images available and a setting to flash a boot-looping phone.
