Day Old Nexus Bricked? Need Help - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

So I have had my galaxy nexus for less than 24 hours. I was transferring some files over and when I was done I had shut off my phone. Now every time I turn the phone it freezes in the boot animation. I managed to get into the stock recovery and do a factory reset, but still the phone locks up.
Can I reflash the stock image? I would have to do this with fastboot?

Yes. Check the stickies in the development forum there will be guides on how to flash good luck. If I wasn't on my phone I would attempt to help more but I can't get to a computer :/

I was thinking of using the toolkit in the dev section to load the stock rom. I can only get to fast boot on the phone but that should be ok? Correct?

Yes, fastboot should be all you need.

If you want to learn how to do it, instead of using a toolkit, try a doing it yourself by using something like this.

Well that sucked... Tried the tool kit to reflash the stock image and now the phone wont turn on at all. So I'm off to the store tomorrow to return it. I think the internal memory must of screwed itself when I was transferring files from my mac to the phone, as it would never boot after that. I have never had internal memory fail on a phone before...

Instead of using the toolkit try odin

Instead of using a toolkit or odin, use fastboot/efrant's guide like he told you to.

Please Help, Cannot WIPE! (Video)

Hey XDA. I am on 4.0.4 AOKP M5. My problem is that when I was on AOKP M4, i wiped cache, dalvik and factory reset to install M5. When the GNEX booted, nothing was deleted, I didnt have to start over, txts were there, apps and music was there. Shouldn't it have been deleted and started fresh?
What am I doing wrong? Please help, any suggestions are welcome
Here is the video - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2IyVPojN-RA
Video is hard to see, sorry. The first part is just me verifying the .zips for the rom are there.
*I tried to use wugfreshs toolkit to unroot and lock the bootloader so I could essentially start over but im on 4.0.4 and the factory img is a 4.0.2 so It came up with errors
* edit, thanks for msedek I am now unrooted with a locked boot loader. Will root later on!
Any help is appreciated

Some times you gotta wipe several times 2 or 3 it wont Hurt, before flashing the ROM.. Go ahead and wipe factory reset with CWM and also dalvik cache as i said doit several times before flashing the zip
Cheers

OK I wiped the phone 5 times and flashed aokp m5 I thought it try to boot without gapps this time.. when I booted up, nothing deleted and gapps still there even though I didn't flash them..

Have you tried wiping via Fastboot?
Fastboot erase data
Fastboot erase cache
Ok so download and flash a stock google image and leave your phone as new again, then do all the root /install cwm again and then try to install aokp, i suggest you to use the toolkit from development section.. Thats what i use and works flawlessly

Which options do I use to do this? Please help
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using XDA
0-put your phone in fastboot and plug to pc and open toolkit
1- Select your phone version
Meaning android gsm or cdma and its 4.0.1 4.0.2 4.0.3 4.0.4. It does not matter if it custom rom just matter if cdma or gsm and what version of android
2-install drivers if you dont have or if the toolkit does not recognice your phone in the list of attached files
3-once done with recognition use option 8 (donwload/extract/flash google factory inage)
4-Select 1 then if you are gsm go for 5 IMM76I for others get the lastest
5-after that go to the directory you installed the toolkit default is c:\Galaxy Nexus toolkit, open that folder and inside theres another folder called put_google_factory_image_here so the google file you just downloaded put it there, close that Windows and then back to toolkit use option 2 flash google factory image (dont not unzip the downloaded file)
Thats pretty much it
Then after you are done open again toolkit and use option 7 one CLICK FOR ALL in fastboot mode
When asked choose cwm touch since its the lastests versiĆ³n and working kool wiht aokp m5

ive tryed everthing expect odin to get my phone back on i push system img from fast boot i tryed nandroid etc my wont go back the google screen... is there any way i can back up my device from recovery or fast boot i need my whole sdcard partition on my computer by any means nesscary
thanks!!
Search, there's been a million threads just like yours - you aren't a special case.
Check the Q&A section... everything is there.
Have you tried flashing any rooms? If you can get it to boot you can use Adw to pull things off the phone.

and btw, Bricked means the phone shows no activity at all. If it will power up, it isn't bricked. If you can get any kind of activity from it, it isn't bricked. The technical term you should be using is "borked". Your phone is borked.
Just trying to help!!
Download the galaxy nexus tool kit in the cdma thread and it'll have step by step instructions, you will lose everything on your SD card tho.

There is a restore with ODIN sticky in the development section somewhere.

Yep is there is for sprint Gnex though.

[Q]Phone Bricked?

Phone stuck on loading animation, but can get into fastboot and Clockwork mod recovery. Unable to flash a new images using toolkit or adb as device not detected, please help?
You don't have any backups?

Bricking your Gnex is not a easy task.
Just download the wugfresh's toolkit and click the 'back to stock' button with 'can't boot up' checked. That's it all you have to do now is just wait for a couple of minutes.
And finally you'll have your Gnex back to life.

I do have a full adb backup but I can't see my device from my laptop.
[sarcasm]yeah yeah, your device is bricked[/sarcasm]
Have you tried usb jig? Gets your phone into dlmode.

NO. Only if you are REALLY bricked, cannot start bootloader, get into recovery, etc. That's actually quite hard to do. If you ever get stuck on the bootanimation or get bootloops:
1. Wipe cache and dalvik cache
3. If not working, re-flash ROM
4. If still not working, wipe data
5. If _still_ not working, go back to stock using any method.
Your welcome mate

No need for fastboot here, OP should be able to recover/push a ROM to /sdcard/ through ADB/custom recovery.
@OP, this has been answered many times before. RTFM.

[Q] Soft Bricked

I woke up this morning to my locked up in the middle of the night. I did a battery pull and it gets stuck at the nexus boot screen. I tried rebooting into recovery mode it only goes to a pic of the android laying down with the panel open and an exclamation point above it.
I connected it to my computer and tried to do a recovery with Wug Fresh toolkit. It has a problem with the ADB not being connected. I think it is probably because I didn't put it into developer mode. How can I fix my phone now?
Try diff usb cable. Look in device manager on your comp and make sure the adb drivers are installed. Sounds like a driver issue.

1) android on its back is stock recovery.
2)your drivers are not setup correctly.
Does it matter that when my phone died I didn't have USB debugging mode checked? After I rooted the device, I unchecked it for safety reasons.

You mean where it boots up with the Volume up- down and power button? Yes it boots into that. I have fastboot abilities. When I choose reboot bootloader it just restarts the phone and hangs again on the Nexus logo.
Awesome. Its a verizon nexus right? If so search my topics and find my tool. 4.0.4 flash back to stock. This will bring it back to its original state. If ur having fastboot driver issues download them and install them via device manager on ur pc. The program will say not responding. Ignore it and let it do its thing. Can take up to 20 mins but it does work.

I'm going to try something I read for Odin, if that doesn't work, I will try your tool. Can you provide me with a link to your tool?
Thanks for your help so far. I was panicking even called in today from work so I could focus on this.
ODIN to the rescue.
Thanks everyone for your help and patience with me.
Could the nightly Franco Kernel have done that? I installed the latest nightly kernel last night about 8 or 9, and when I got up my phone was toast.
