Aokp_d710_unofficial_nov_20_12 - Samsung Epic 4G Touch

Firstly, the Rom is great. No major issues when using it.
Now on to my question (which I feel slightly embarrassed about)
I flashed this Rom and would like to check for updates but when I searched for it, I couldn't find or remember the forum I got it from.
Any help on locating it?
I know king kang has an updated version to 3.3 but I don't know if I can just flash over what I have or if I need to clean wipe and install with it.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
I've added a screen cap of my "about phone" for additional info.
Thanks in advance.

Thanks for the response.
I had stumbled upon that thread as well but wasn't sure if it was the correct one because I couldn't find what I have installed.
Any info on if I can flash over it with king kang 3.3?

I don't think you can flash over it. Just to be safe, make a Titanium Backup of your apps/data, clean wipe your data, cache, and dalvik cache, flash King Kang, and then restore from Titanium. That's what I do and it works well.

What's this -b2 update you're talking about?? Where are you seeing this?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=784598 - here it is

Oh, I get it now. Well, after reading that post it looks like this B2 ROM you're looking at will only flash over a CM6 nightly ROM. Specifically, Magnus stated this in the B2 ROM post:
"-built from the newest version of cm6=9.15nightly-"
and
"IF YOU ARE HAVING ISSUES BUT REALLY WANT TO TRY THIS OUT, USE THE FOOLPROOF METHOD LISTED BELOW:
-NANDROID-
-FLASH OVER A NIGHTLY-
OR
-WIPE-
-FLASH/RESTORE A NIGHTLY-
-FLASH ROM-
-ENJOY CM6 GOODNESS-"
--------------------------------
So, with that being said (and reading over the B2 post) here's what I would do if I were you:
I'm assuming you're already rooted and want to perform a fresh wipe of your phone:
- Use Titanium Backup or MyBackup to backup your data and apps
- Reboot into your recovery app (I prefer Amon RA, link can be found in my signature)
- Make a Nandroid backup
- Wipe data
- Wipe cache
- Wipe Dalvik cache
- Flash a CM6.1 nightly ROM (link to CM6 nightly thread can be found in my signature, go there to find the download link for the nightlies, it's in the OP)
- Boot into CM6.1 nightly
- Once loaded into CM6.1 nightly, reboot into your recovery app
- Flash Magnus' B2 CM ROM
- Reboot
- Enjoy
That should just about do it. Once you get B2 running please redirect your support questions to the B2 thread as I'm not running that ROM nor do I have any intention to (this means I'm not the best help once you have operational problems, I'm trying to do you a favor not be a d--k)
Can u do me one more favor.. can u post me a link to cm6 nightly ,because I can't seem to find it

The link you're looking for is in the nightly thread here. Look in the section entitled "Installation info" You'll find the link to the nightlies in there.

You flash it, of course.
As I mentioned in one of my earlier posts, I am a total nube at all this, I don't think I'm even sure what it means to flash it. I'm only interested in fresh because from my understanding, it contains the latest OTA for my evo. Please correct me if I'm incorrect, I welcome as much help as I can get. I appreciate it guys.

If you don't know what it means to flash, then you need to do some serious research.
And don't come asking simple questions that you can very easily answer yourself by browsing through the forum, searching the forum, or googling your question. If you do, you're gonna get flamed by a lot of people.
Funny you would mention that, I was just researching it for myself. Thanks for the warning.... Appreciate it.

He had it deleted because xHausx posted the stock rooted ROM 1st... plus he wasnt feeling well.. there are the odex and de-odex versions up
thanks man....i should know this but I dont...whats the diffetence between the two? again ty
one more thing...im so confused I dont know where to start if I want to try this...im on konis e3 if that helps...again thanks, if u dont want to help and give a walk thru I understand
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA App
The deodexed version is themeable, the odex version has a slightly faster boot time and uses less space in system. That's the quick and dirty answer, anyway. If you want to modify it at all, flash the deodexed version, otherwise just flash the odexed version.
You're going to flash it the same way you'd flash any other rom. Follow the directions in the thread, I'm not sure if you'll need to flash the updated radios, etc. If you don't know how to flash a rom - I know you have a custom rom installed, but a lot of people have someone else root/flash for them - there should be a walkthrough floating around somewhere. If you need help or just want clarification, shoot me a pm. I have a fairly lengthy write up on everything to do with rooting/flashing/recovery/etc, I'd be happy to send you that or help you out.

The wimax, prl, and radio are optional; they will update what the are supposed to. You'll only brick your phone if you do a battery pull/battery dies during an update of the radio. You don't have to update any of those if you don't want to, but just wipe the cache and dalvik, then flash if you want to.
thank man...whats the benefit of updating those, which kernal should I use andwhats I hear its sense 1.0?
arent we on like 2.0 something?

Nothing really besides having an updated connection possibilities...PRI can affect your battery, but if its good, no need to change it. Yea, its sense 1.0, and there are sense 3.0 roms out there.
why would an upgrade downgrade like it did? whar the difference between 3 and 1¿

if there was a device profile for you guys id compile nightlies for ya, however im not gunna take each nightly and edit it after compiling for use with us cellular, sorry i dont have that kind of time. if you had a device profile like this https://github.com/EpicCM/android_device_samsung_epic4gtouch then i could merge it in and add it to my build script, would take it maybe 20 mins extra to make it :/
my suggestion is to get a modified device repo going and then you could have a from source build

Looks like the nightly is done uploading. ~35 downloads while the md5 was still changing (good half a dozen were mine) ;-)
Sorry if I ask this....might be common knowledge, oh well. I'm on 6-18 nightly atm, if I want to update to 6-19 (I'm already using goo.im from the play store, and already dl the rom) can I just use the included safe CW from 6-18 to flash? If so, After flashing do I need to do anything else? Thanks again for the help..

Welcome to rooting.. so if im getting your question right you want to go to a new ROM possibly.. and youre on AOSP..well since you are new I would suggest using a one click odin (your choice ) and start from there since you are on A JB build ...
-TeaM VeNuM Like A Boss
+1 for one click of your choice, make sure you pick a full wipe one though.
Tappin' Typin'
I would flash over the EL26 CWM kernel, first it just makes it easier for you, and is a very safe recovery to flash from.
Thank you guys, actually I just wanted to know what to do when I decide to explore others roms but for now I really like this one so Ima stay here a while I didnt knew rooting would be this cool but new roms and with apps like setcpu this is very nice, thanks again.

Oh I see well all is your choice on the path..one major thing I suggest is when moving from ROM to ROM back up your apps ..(non system apps)and make sure to wipe on a safe recoveries (Kuban kernel, agats, el26) problems can arise from dirty installs
I also suggest ROM toolbox from the play store its a great tool that basically does everything
