That is a highly ambiguous question. Start with all of the stickies in the development section, read Fresh's site.

You flash it, of course.
As I mentioned in one of my earlier posts, I am a total nube at all this, I don't think I'm even sure what it means to flash it. I'm only interested in fresh because from my understanding, it contains the latest OTA for my evo. Please correct me if I'm incorrect, I welcome as much help as I can get. I appreciate it guys.

If you don't know what it means to flash, then you need to do some serious research.
And don't come asking simple questions that you can very easily answer yourself by browsing through the forum, searching the forum, or googling your question. If you do, you're gonna get flamed by a lot of people.
Funny you would mention that, I was just researching it for myself. Thanks for the warning.... Appreciate it.

You don't need to be running any of those unless the ROM your going to flash is based off of those and can't be used with EC05.
You will be fine just following the one click root thread
Gl
Just to clarify, EC05 is the latest official modem version of software. E being for the year 2011, C for the month March and 05 for the 5th day. The DK28 and EB13 are older modems and versions of software.

In addition, just so you're not surprised if you see it there is another modem (EE03) that some ROMs recommend you flash. I have it on my phone and works great

Just been getting confused over the dual stuff and all the other numbers when I say dual I mean like on you tube I was watching installs of like a few of viper roms and seen it said dual guessing that means rfs or ext4? I apologize bout all the questions just being cautious to make sure I get it right. Thanks again to everyone

Glad it works for you. I get no 3G. Icon on but no network and then it kills the battery. EC05 is best for 2.2 for my area.

You are correct. Dual means can run either file system, RFS or EXT4.

Sent from my SPH-D700 using XDA App
I'm assuming you know how to use the cwm
Boot into clockwork and flash the newest version from this thread, on step 6, ignore the rest.

I'm not entirely sure.
But odex is basically stock, and deodexed is having removed all of the files with the ".odex" extension.
And most themes require deodexed roms
no problem
I was at this stage not too long ago too

He had it deleted because xHausx posted the stock rooted ROM 1st... plus he wasnt feeling well.. there are the odex and de-odex versions up
thanks man....i should know this but I dont...whats the diffetence between the two? again ty
one more thing...im so confused I dont know where to start if I want to try this...im on konis e3 if that helps...again thanks, if u dont want to help and give a walk thru I understand

The deodexed version is themeable, the odex version has a slightly faster boot time and uses less space in system. That's the quick and dirty answer, anyway. If you want to modify it at all, flash the deodexed version, otherwise just flash the odexed version.
You're going to flash it the same way you'd flash any other rom. Follow the directions in the thread, I'm not sure if you'll need to flash the updated radios, etc. If you don't know how to flash a rom - I know you have a custom rom installed, but a lot of people have someone else root/flash for them - there should be a walkthrough floating around somewhere. If you need help or just want clarification, shoot me a pm. I have a fairly lengthy write up on everything to do with rooting/flashing/recovery/etc, I'd be happy to send you that or help you out.

The wimax, prl, and radio are optional; they will update what the are supposed to. You'll only brick your phone if you do a battery pull/battery dies during an update of the radio. You don't have to update any of those if you don't want to, but just wipe the cache and dalvik, then flash if you want to.
thank man...whats the benefit of updating those, which kernal should I use andwhats I hear its sense 1.0?
arent we on like 2.0 something?

Nothing really besides having an updated connection possibilities...PRI can affect your battery, but if its good, no need to change it. Yea, its sense 1.0, and there are sense 3.0 roms out there.
why would an upgrade downgrade like it did? whar the difference between 3 and 1¿

you wont be able to update just the sense part of your 2.3.4. you will need to download a custom ROM that has sense 3.0 or higher already built into it.
then will i have to re-root? Do you know of such a rom?

Firstly, the Rom is great. No major issues when using it.
Now on to my question (which I feel slightly embarrassed about)
I flashed this Rom and would like to check for updates but when I searched for it, I couldn't find or remember the forum I got it from.
Any help on locating it?
I know king kang has an updated version to 3.3 but I don't know if I can just flash over what I have or if I need to clean wipe and install with it.
Any help is greatly appreciated.
I've added a screen cap of my "about phone" for additional info.
Thanks in advance.

I don't think you can flash over it. Just to be safe, make a Titanium Backup of your apps/data, clean wipe your data, cache, and dalvik cache, flash King Kang, and then restore from Titanium. That's what I do and it works well.
