[Q] HTC one V no service after flashing - HTC One V

I have a HTC one V from VM. Followed the top post to unlock, rooted and flashed to Page Plus. Everything went through smoothly except that when I modified the QPST, it prompt NV read only. I still be able to reprogram the phone over the air (*228). However, after programing, the phone shows "no service" and I can't call any number. Any one can help here? Thanks!

All questions belong in q&a section not development

[HOW-TO]Root your VirginMobile(CDMA) One V

I am happy to present to you the guide to root your VirginMobile One V.
REQUIREMENTS
VM One V
Bootloader Unlocked (guide here)
Basic knowledge and good reading skills
So 2 VM One V users had problems rooting their phones and then it was proved that their software was different. So, I modified the kernel ramdisk to include the SuperSU files and other files to help root VM One V
I had to just add few lines of code and transfer a few file here and there.
INSTRUCTIONS:
UNLOCK YOUR BOOTLOADER
Download the zip file and extract it to your Desktop or something.
Put your phone into fastboot mode(Vol Down + Power and then with volume buttons scroll to fastboot and press power button)
If on Windows open ---windows.bat file
If on Mac open ---mac.sh
And If on Linux open ---linux.sh
Let it do it's thing
Scroll down with Volume buttons and Reboot
Your phone will now be rooted.
If you have problems with WiFi just reboot and it will be fixed

The device is less than a week old on VM. I'm ordering it Friday, so I will test for you. It's just not many people have this phone yet.

Get Red and White HTC screen
Hey I tried your process no go for me. I unlocked my bootloader with no errors HBOOT says Unlocked at the top. S-on. I can fastboot flash a custom recovery. I even used yours .img file and flashed it but everytime I boot out of hboot and try to go into recovery. Instead of a custom recovery I get a white HTC screen with red lettering that says that this is used for development use only. I have rooted many phones and fixed gotten out of many jams on phones. This one has me at a loss. Any help would be appreciated.

I was in fastboot when I did it. I followed your directions to the letter. I understand that your .bat file is supposed to install the custom recovery then push supersu.apk and this roots the phone. What I get when I start the process I boot phone into fastboot then plug in USB run the .bat. the cmd window finds the phone it starts the process tries to go into recovery to push supersu it comes up to the white screen with red lettering I will post a picture of the screen if you need it. After 30 seconds or so the phone boot as normal.
So what I did was again boot into fastboot then manually go to cmd. I pushed your .IMG file manually and tried to boot into recovery where I can install supersu from a .zip file. Still no luck there same issue.
I think I will run the latest suu and try to root again.
Let me know if you want the screen shots.

It is actually a kernel with supersu in the ramdisk and not a recovery image ...check your applications..your phone is already rooted..

VIrgin CDMA on Reliance CDMA
Thanks dude for this post! Really helped me unlock my HTC ONE V (virgin CDMA) device through your method. I was successful in getting the MEID, MSN and the reliance number registered on this device. Well i am writing this cause now i have a strange problems, and i wish to share with you for your insight and help
1. The calls get cut within 2 Sec of dialing.
2. Even though i am able to send and receive SMS, the device still displays "virgin mobile" in the network operator field.
3. Under network type: it shows CDMA - 1xRTT. I guess this has to be 3G or at least 2G?
Kindly help me to get this fixed would appreciate any form of help.
Thanks

Rooting/unlocking the phone wouldn't cause these problems. Also, isn't it supposed to say Virgin Mobile? After all, it is a Virgin Mobile phone.

Right! That's why i wonder why do my calls get cut within 2 Sec of dialing and i got this to work in India on reliance network, hence it should say reliance and not virgin wonder why

[Q] Last Ditch Effort - Verizon Galaxy Nexus - No Radio-CDMA - Baseband Unknown

I've spent nearly two weeks trying to figure out what happened to my phone and how to restore it. After OTA 4.1.1 (I forced this clearing gsf), in a weak coverage area toggled airplane mode. It wouldn't come back out.
Fastboot flash, CWM, TWRP, dd command, Odin, re-partitioning, nand erase all - any attempt to flash radio-cdma.img hangs or fails.
I can confirm that many of the dire warnings about hard-bricking your device... Well, let's just say that with everything that I've tried, even the bolder attempts in the end, did not brick my device. Odin would always get me back.
Baseband Unknown
IMEI Unknown
My Phone Number Unknown
Everything!!! UNKNOWN
I found some threads on here mentioning CDMA tools and I've downloaded and attempted a couple, it seems that my pc has to have all the supporting programs to make a connection to my phone. The problem is these posts are not specific to my device but the S3 and it seems like a whole lot of trouble when there isn't a 'known' path and specific files for my VZW GNX.
I have also ran emmc check several times and memory checks out good. Sim card has also been replaced.
So I sit here today with 4.1.1 installed (less the radio-cdma.img). I can Odin the older stock images found here on XDA by deleting the radio-cdma.img within. Then use fastboot to flash the 4.1.1 images individually to have a Wi-Fi only device.
I'm willing to try anything. Any takers?
Your meid is smoked. You will need to completely reprogram phone. A restore won't do it Cuz its the serial of the device from factory. You can't fix unless you have msl
*Shaolin Shadowboxing*
Thank you for the reply!
Could you point me in the right direction? Is this done using CDMA tools? I've seen places that mention it can be done via the handset dialpad (other devices). I've found threads that give suggestions on how to contact your carrier to get them to give you the msl... and I've also seen posts that state that Verizon's MSL is almost always 000000. My brain is turning to mush! :cyclops:
Thanks again

Verizon msl is usually 000000 you will need either the box device came in or the numbers under battery. The sticky part us going to be the MSID number you'll have to put in. If you have the ORIGINAL nandroid you made immediately after you unlocked bootloader, that one might work but no guarantees. The dialer code is *#*#msl#*#* with msl being the 000000. I believe that's it...could be *#*#spc#*#* with spc being spc and then have to enter msl. The MSID is mobile subsidy identification. Sometimes its NAM. Your MIN would be your phone number..mobile identification number.
If you get into the MEID it will have a couple numbers to enter. The numbers you will need will be your ESN hex and dec. I have all the dialer codes and can pm you a link if you like. Once you finish with the MEID repair that's where the NAM MIN thing will be needed. Unfortunately, the NAM/MSID isn't the same as your number and won't accept all 0's but once the meid is back you might be able to restore but am not positive on that. Can call Verizon and have them refresh phone I believe once meid is restored.
*Step Away From The Toolkit And NoROM Gets Hurt*
I tried the dialer code *#*#000000#*#*
The phone did nothing although as soon as I completed it went the field cleared. I'm on my own. Verizon told me a week ago they were sending me a refurb. Called yesterday and there was no record of another phone being sent out. Rep told me my Sim card was not activated in their system and a ticket was opened to have it unlocked on their network. It should be fixed on their end today. However, I still think I'm going to have to get radio-cdma flashed on my phone. Using getprop (from app market) it appears at some point I may have flashed GSM radios. I say this because there are GSM listings from the getprop output.
Any suggestions?

I'd probably return everything to stock first. ##XXXXXXX# and *#*#XXXXXX#*#* codes depend a device's factory ROM.
I'm not convinced it's your MEID though. That alone wouldn't stick your phone without signal and you'd still be able to flash a radio. I'd also be careful not to mess with IMEIs or MEIDs unless you're absolutely certain that's the problem. If you're hell bent on it or you're doing it for fun, not caring of you wreck it, look up MEID repair and read up before messing around.
It wouldn't hurt to try and install a new radio via CDMAWS or a similar program. Just don't change anything you're not familiar with. You can really screw things up with programs like that if you mess around.

I'm pretty sure that my problem is due to flashing GSM on my device. I have not had any luck finding out how to go back. I'll check out CDMAWS... first time hearing about it.

Pretty much meid smoked.
Wrong quote..trying to quote above. Just to ensure try *#06# and if it comes back with a string of numbers then you still have the meid. If blank...smoked

Does he have the samsung drivers installed? If so does his computer recognize his phone when plugged in either adb or fastboot? Cause if he does then you can easily go back to stock 4.0.4 IMM76k using my link in above post
MEID definitely smoked. *#06# yields nothing. I have tried flashing back to stock IMM76K but cannot get past radio-cdma flash... it hangs. If I remove the radio-cdma image it stock flashes no problem... but I still don't have MEID when doing that. I believe I flashed GSM ROM or radios at some point. I say this because when in terminal emulator and type getprop, the output has several gsm entries. Verizon is sending me another SIM card. But before I put it in I believe I need to have the GSM stuff off the phone. I'm not quite sure how to do that.
My screen is cracked, Verizon and Samsung can do nothing for me. I'm on my own on this. I have two rumor touch (sprint) that work fine. I also have HTC EVO 4g (Sprint)... been looking at activating on Verizon, but have had no luck getting CDMA tools to recognize phones... even after wiping drivers and re-installing multiple times.
I'm stuck using a very basic Samsung Knack flip at the moment... Sucks big time. Cash is short so I'm trying to make do with what I have.
Still needing help guys and gals!
And thank you all so much for your ideas and suggestions! I have learned a lot!

Do you have the box that came with device so can reapply meid? You'll need your msl in order to edit. If have a backup of original stock after you unlocked bootloader..that one might reapply your info. Otherwise you need that mls

Somebody found solution?
Thanks in advance!
My brother is having the same problem with his Galaxy Nexus. Anybody found a fix for this problem?
I just started having this issue the other day as well (baseband/IMEI, etc all unknown). Phone was just sitting on my desk when I noticed it didn't have service. After being unable to flash the cdma radio, I am trying to get the phone back to stock. However, I am unable to flash the stock image because there is a version check for the cdma radio. Is there a way to flash the stock image without the cdma radio check?

Any luck with yours. I just started having the same problem. My phone freezes and I have no service. I am trying to return to stock using this GUIDE but my phone freezes whenever I try to Flash the CDMA Radio. If I skip that step it doesn't install the stock version and I'm stuck in Paranoid 3.2 and unable to return to the store in the current condition due to warranty issues. If I can make it stock I will go get a new one.

Just wanted to let others know that I was on a JRO03O rom, decided to return to stock 4.1.1 and must have screwed up something because after getting back up and running I had the same issues as OP. No baseband, IMEI, *#06# was blank, etc. I was about to embark down the path JediNinjafication linked to, but it looked extremely intimidating. Jaymazz's link to Vabeachfc3s reset tool worked like a champ, put me back at at 4.0.4 and all the radio stuff started working right away! Phone updated itself to 4.1.1 shortly thereafter, and it's still going strong.

No Signal!

Hi everyone, i recently got this HTC ONE X (Second hand) 13 months old
and i found that there was no signal in the phone!
No service, emergency calls only :crying:
I tried with three different SIM cards, the SIM Contacts do show up and the phone shows
"Preparing SIM card' but the network doesn't appear!
The phone was properly working with the SIM of the guy i bought it from, he was even using Mobile DATA!!!
It even worked for me sometimes, it shows signal, i try to make calls and it dissappears!
also the Gyro Sensor is not working :crying:
Can anyone help me with these issues?
Should i take it to HTC Care for any Hardware issues or should try with few more SIM Cards?
thanx

You holding it right?
Seriously, could just be an APN issue.
Go into Settings, Mobile data (click on the NAME not the on/off switch), and Access Point Names...
If you're network isn't in there you're going to have to create an APN and find out your carrier settings.

Hi all. Hijacking this thread. Have a similar issue.
ATT HTC One X (Evita). Works fine with the exception of no signal on the phone. It reads the SIM with no issues - can retrieve SMS and view contacts. Phone shows no signal whatsoever - can't make any calls - can't run any USSD codes.
So far I got the bootloader unlocked and S-OFF - tried to load different ROMs I found but nothing worked. Managed to soft-brick the phone with it stuck on the screen before loading recovery, but managed to fix that with a RUU EXE (couldn't find a ZIP). The RUU EXE I found was for the latest version so now it's updated. Icon still remains the same - signal bar with an X on it.
Any help on this would be appreciated. Any suggestions at all. Thanks in advance.

I've been checking and I don't see any other forum elsewhere or thread here that speaks specifically to the One X (Evita). If you know if it then please provide a link. Otherwise I'm still waiting on a reply here.

Yeah. This thread is kinda dead now but I promised to post back. No solution for this issue on the one I have. Currently gave it away to a child to use as a small tablet. The signal just doesn't work. Nothing tried works. If I was the original owner I guess I'd have taken it back. Maybe a factory fault? Anyways. Thanks for all the help!

Missing Activate button?

Hello,
New to the forum with hopefully a simple question.
I acquired a pre-rooted HTC One V from a friend with Rhythmic ROM 1.4 installed.
It had been factory reset but still had their number on the phone. Using Dev mode to Factory Reset I was still brought to the Language/Google/Phone choices but the end result is that the same number is still in phone info and the Activate icon/App is missing. The phone doesn't seem to recognize ##VIRGIN# as a shortcut either.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance!

I don't have a CDMA phone, but I've heard the the Virgin activation dialer thingy only works on Stock rom.

Hello,
New to the forum with hopefully a simple question.

Boot the phone to recovery and see if you have the stock Nandroid Backup.

It didn't come with a MicroSD so I'm left with what's on the phone.
I'm hoping I wont have to dig up the CID and RUU or anything. Is there a simple method to stock this phone?
HTC One V / Virgin Mobile / Version 4.2.2
if it helps
I recently gave mine to my mom, what has to be done is, switch to a stock ROM (pm me if you need one, I've built one completely stock that works fine) have your friend call and cancel his account. I've been with cricket for a while and I still needed to cancel my account for my mom to switch hers to it. lastly, you'll need to call virgin to activate. just make sure your friend cancels the account.

[Q] vs985 problems after downgrade. advice?

I got my phone around the begining of last month and decided the other night that it was time to root as I have rooted every android device I have owned since the wildfire s. I had previously taken the OTA so I was on vs98512b. I used LG flashtool to downgrade to vs98510b. The downgrade it's self went fine. I then rooted using stumproot again nothing out of the ordinary. I downloaded Supersu and enabled survival mode. I tried to check for New updates and it says "your phone is not registered" I found that to be strange so I checked some other settings and found that my imei was 000000000000000. I found that to be strange. I attempted to make a call and my phone switched to roaming and I lost all my signal bars. I performed a factory reset and after the reset I have all network function, I'm connected to Verizon 4g lte and can make calls, no more roaming. I checked the imei again at this point and it is still showing 000000000000000 and I was still unable to update. So I then reflashed the stock firmware for vs98510b. Again I had the roaming issue that went into being unable to connect to network. Again I performed a hard rest on my phone and got full network function back. I had a new micro SIM tucked away for a rainy day so I put the New SIM card in and activated it with no change to imei. What can I do from here? My phone is working fine with the imei being 000000000000000 it seems like the only issue is not being able to get an OTA, when I try using Verizon's upgrade assistant it won't even list my phone. If I check my Verizon it shows up as a non vow device. Thanks in advanced.

have you backuped the efs partition like the rooting thread said
Of course not. That would have been to easy. If I had I would have been able to avoid making a new thread. I really do Google first. Except with the back up of the eds partition. I knew nothing about that until I searched imei problems.

VS985: Lost IMEI, Can't Make Phone Calls
I'm having problems with my VS985 after downgrading including losing the IMEI and especially the ability to make phone calls.
So I got a used VS985W that had 35B installed on it for one of my kids. Having put CyanogenMod on my LG G3 (VS985) successfully, I started down that path. I used the TOT method to flash back to 10B, then used KDZ to upgrade to 12B. Then I rooted, installed TWRP, and then CyanogenMod. But I couldn't make phone calls.
There are numerous things I've tried, but it's still unable to make phone calls, usually giving out of service area, but when trying to use the *#06# code, I get an error of "missing IMMI or such".
At one point I found the IMEI had gone to all zeros. I managed to find a method to fix that. I also switched out SIM cards between phones; same issue - it's the phone and firmware.
The only thing that seems to fix it is to go back to stock 35B. Then it makes phone calls. But then I can't root it and restore the apps/data we backed up from the previous phone (LG Spectrum running CM 11).
I have done hours of searching and reading these forums along with others. I've redone the downgrade and root and TWRP install and tried numerous things but still can't get phones calls in stock versions less than 35B or in CyanogenMod (12.1, not 13, which I did try to install but never could get it to reliably boot back up after an installation, so finally gave up and went back to 12.1).
Anyone heard of this before? I can't find it. I did see in this thread post #4:

Unfortunately this link doesn't work (moved or deleted). I'm continuing to search, but it almost seems like I managed to royally muck up some partition I didn't mean to? I've tried following the advice of a number of posts, too, on related, similar aspects, but I'm getting to a point of slight insanity. Along with a kid that wants their phone (and the old one has the older style SIM so not just that easy to deal with just switching unfortunately).
Any guidance or thoughts Much appreciated. Am going to continue to try the various things I'm reading about. Thanks, -Mark
