How do you all respond to the fact that T-Mobile enabled Caller IQ on the SGN2? Do all the US-carriers have Caller IQ enabled on the Note 2? What about the International N7100? Just curious to know...
Get root and disable or uninstall them.

Just google it, there have been at least 2 previous threads on this issue, you can opt out of it easy. That's all you need to do

I was wondering if there was a way to unlock the Galaxy SII for free. I know that you can use like adb to unlock the MyTouch 4G Slide. Can something one do something like that with this phone?
btw, I tried the "Galaxy S Unlock" app from the Play Store, and it didn't work.
Do what I did. Call tmobile and tell them that you are leaving the country for a while and want to use a different carrier to avoid roaming charges. Bam. I had my unlock code within 24 hours.

yeahhh. I know about that, but I don't like how you are supposed to wait 3 months in between unlocking. and i might actually leave the country in less than three months. and the other phone is neither unlocked nor rooted.
Nope, only way is to call T-Mobile for a code....or a third party vendor

Hello all,
I have a Galaxy S3 I747M from Telus. I was wondering if there's any way to enable the video calling feature like its international variant?
Just to be clear: network video calling, not third-party apps like Skype or Fring.
Thanks
I also would like to know this. Google hangouts is getting me by, but I would like to see it in the dialer

Is there anyone out there who can help? I can see the video call icon on my friend's phone and it's driving me crazy.
Please help.:crying:
I've been waiting for this option since video callings existence..

dunno why its not on our phones
besides having the proper dialer app to make network video calls, isn't this also limited to your wireless carrier? i'm not 100% on this but i think you'd also need a video calling feature activated on your account with your network.

I'm using my handset with a carrier outside north America, and it supports video calling.

Heh heh, I was going to suggest the same thing. After all Google Talk is not technically third party to Android
It works great by the way.
Edit: that is strange that it's not on play...
Here's a copy of mine: http://db.tt/XyDQNMv4
Hmm I just noticed my rogers sgs3 doesn't have video calling either like the sgs2 did. I'll have to play around as I'm sure I saw it originally. Also you should note that most carriers charge per minute. I used it last year and it was 40 cents a minute when I could have just used google video chat or Skype !

Any ideas? i9300 has this feature, while i747m does not.
waiting for your inputs.
The S3 I9300 is an international phone that isn't restricted by the phone carrier issues we have in the states.
Will installing a custom ROM solve this problem? and if yes, which one?
Thanks.

Yes it will. I was testing different ROMs yesterday and seen it included into the dialer. Wannalite I think. Dont swear me to that.
Edit: Check that. Diet ICS is your ROMS. Cheers

Looks like Bell supports HD Voice on the Note II
http://support.bell.ca/Mobility/Rate_plans_features/What_is_HD_Voice_and_how_do_I_use_it
HD Voice has at least twice the audio bandwidth than normal phone calls. Instead of only hearing between 300 and 3400Hz, you get 50 to over 7000 Hz, so its sounds more natural.
Has anyone tried it? (You need two HD Voice phones on the Bell network, like two iPhone5's, to get it working)
Will it be possible to take what makes it tick in the Note II and flash it somehow into the SGS3 ?
Kind of weird that the Note II supports it but its smaller sibling doesn't.

I think that Bell just isn't paying attention to the phone software. That it is not the SGS3's fault.
To give you an idea, Bell doesn't even change the Samsung boot logo!! The only "bloatware" is the "self-service" app and free Bell TV shows.

Well Bell doesn't add their logo to the boot screens and hasn't for a while. My desire z was clean. But the Rogers Raider I bought and unlocked had a Rogers boot screen until I flashed the Bell ROM in it

I am already aware that both Rogers and Fido offer HD Voice, although, their current list of suitable devices does not show the Note II. However, the fact that Bell confirms that the Note II will work, means that it will also work on Rogers. There are only two caveats. First, your carrier must offer the improvement and, second, the device needs to be capable. Since both the Bell and Rogers (and Telus) units are identical, then the Note II must be HD Voice capable.

But if Bell supports HD Voice on many phones, would CM10 give me HD Voice on my Galaxy S3? Or could I add it to my ROM somehow?
Is there a wayvyo remove the "wifi connected" message in the notification pulldown tray? I see there are ways for the verizon sg3, but that doesn't work for our phones. Thanks in advance.

I do not believe there is a way to disable it on the stock rom but I'm sure there will be a way to disable it using a custom ROM.
