i noticed that ICS is better than JB on my S3. has anyone this same experience?
Not to be a jerk, but does this need it's own thread. There are plenty more then what I linked. Skim through these and post your own findings and complaints there.

I've also noticed that JB was a little laggy like in switching apps and the notification drop down. Just rooted and installed CM10 and I now can see why the reviews are raving about jelly bean. Everything runs SUPER FAST and smooth on my phone with CM10, apps open really fast and app switching is light speed.

Did you ever try setting all 3 animation scales to 0.5x on stock? Makes it feel a lot faster.
I have hardly had a single issue running stock jb. Both ics and jb are great on my phone. But jb offers more.

Maybe you should do a factory reset or you have a lemon? JB isn't laggy at all, but setting animations to .5 helps even more. JB just has more features, I couldn't imagine going back to ICS
Your question is a matter of opinion, really! You can feel that way about jb but for others its magic. Play around with it. (that's what she said btw) see what works and what doesn't. If you like ics better, odin back to stock ics. What isn't working for you? We are here to help, well some at least lol.

hi chrisram i appreciate your help.. i think i'll do a factory reset like i said before.. i got 2 major issues with JB which is battery and dialing rules. the battery drains and after dialing rules executes it renders the dialpad dead.

Only reason I went back to ICS is due to the terrible battery life. Besides that seemed decent. I just don't see huge differences really as my N7 is on JB.

Please report back with your results from doing a factory reset. I do not know if it's true or not but I have been told that there is a difference between doing a factory reset from within the phone and doing a factory reset from recovery mode. I all ways do my factory resets from recovery mode FYI.

They have same GPU.
Reading through the original thread. The positive results were negligible at best. many people were experiencing lower scores and lines and other artifacts when playing some games.
So probably not worth the soft brick or worse, to find out if it's compatible with our device.

Actually all it did was replace a few lib files which wouldn't brick the phone. So you, please be quiet. Because YOU don't even know what would happen. Lib's are coded files that are linked to kernel for both system and kernel work. THAT is what he changed, but he cannot hard brick his phone like that.
billydroid said:
Ok this is absurd. Alphadog did not flash for fear of bricking his phone. That's why he was asking for other people with "balls" to flash it. Also saying Ita for cm9, it's not.
Now since this guy didn't trash his phone. He knew everything was going to be fine.
You should not try and talk people into flashing stuff not specifically for our phones. Especially when you yourself won't do it.

Hey everyone, I will be getting this phone (T989D Koodo) in the next few days and have a question.
I am coming from the LG Optimus One, a lower end smart phone. This will be my first 'major/higher end' phone.
I mainly use my phone for the essentials; texting, talking (and Camera now that I have a good one lol), and a bit of social media.
I don't play games on my phone. My phone will come with 4.0.4. I prefer stable roms with basically everything working.
What roms/kernels would everyone suggest for me? Focusing on battery life, but not decreasing performance to laggy.
Thank you in advance.

I'd try the Plain Jane ICS ROM for stability and speed. It's beautiful and minimal with performance tweaks. I personally use the MIUI ICS ROM. A lot of people are having sound quality issues in phone calls, but I have none of these issues. I have yet to jump to JB.
Good luck

I mainly use my phone for the essentials; texting, talking (and Camera now that I have a good one lol), and a bit of social media.
I don't play games on my phone. My phone will come with 4.0.4. I prefer stable roms with basically everything working.
What roms/kernels would everyone suggest for me? Focusing on battery life, but not decreasing performance to laggy.
Thank you in advance.
Edit: Thought I posted this in a different area(general). Mods please move to appropriate area.

Honestly, I'd recommend CM9 if you want solid performance and everything working properly while keeping solid battery life. It doesn't have a few of the bells and whistles that Touchwiz ROM's have, but the performance and stability are amazing.
However, if you'd prefer using a TW ROM, try out any of the 4.0 ROM's. 4.1 is neat, but still has problems no matter which one you go with. As for which one of those ROM's... I can't really say that any of them truly shines above another, so the best thing you can do is look for a highly rated/used one and try that out. Worst case scenario, you end up trying a different one instead.

First off, I'm not saying one devs work is better than the other. They all work dang hard for sure.
As far as ur preferences, mine are exactly identical and from personal taste I like jovy's darthstalker. Battery is great, its very stable and very smooth. With the same uses I average about 16 hours before needing a charge. I haven't had a chance to flash version 4 and play with it yet as I'm still enjoying version 3. Other than that, you can always flash all the roms and pick one that suits ur needs...cuz that's what I did. Good luck bud.

Which of these two roms are better? Does TweakWiz have smart stay? Does anybody know how to put awesome beats or any audio enchancer on Embroyo 6.5?
Sorry for piggybacking on your thread, but I don't have enough posts to ask in the development forum, and my question is related to one of the two roms anyway.
I have embryo 6.4 on my T989, do I need to wipe and reflash all up to 6.5, or can I simply flash 6.5 on top of what I have now?

No I meant this whole time which awesome beats or sound enhancer will work for embroyo 6.5.
I would wait until the dev releases version 6.6 full rom, he posted in his thread that it should be up today.
After flashing tweak wiz and then returning to embroyo I have come to the conclusion embroyo is much better. It the closest thing you will get to actually having the official jelly bean update. On embroyo The smart stay actually works, it doesn't crash like tweak wiz, it has a working s voice, and its very smooth with great battery life. I also figured out how to get awesome beats on embroyo. If anybody wants to know let me know on the thread.

Well, you could have let me know in the TweakWiz thread. I don't have this device anymore so I have to rely on users to let me know when they find bugs. Also, what's wrong with S-Voice on TweakWiz?

I was answering your other question: how to install it. I answered by saying to flash it in recovery. It's not so hard to understand...

My tweak wiz rom didnt come with s voice and as soon as I would start up my tweak wiz rom it would say something unexpectedly stopped. when I would turn smart stay it would never activate.

Which is better? Can't comment on that, but I prefer Embryo! It's giving me great battery life!
To be fair, I didn't give Tweakwiz enough time to settle down to gauge the battery life.

I wanna know. I think you should post it in the theme/apps thread. It'll get your thanks up lol.
I think tweakwiz is better personally and i bet the future updates will be way better than embroyo.
