Anyone else notice a huge difference between data speeds on stock vs everything else? Stock data seems more consistant even on 1x, while it seems like cm/aokp data crawls slowly. Any theories as to why?
Sent from my HTC One V using xda app-developers app
Possibly because there are more programming in jellybean than in stock. More complicated = more time need. The radios might also be different

Radio is the same and I tested with ics and jb. Stock rom wins everytime lol.

hey guys I'm trying to find out if it's possible to run the t-mobile leaked s3 OS on our phones? I noticed that it also got ported to sprint and Verizon phones as well.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using xda app-developers app
we already had a port of it , it wasn't stable enough stuff didn't work right , just wait for it , proper functional one will be out in near future.
Personally I think it is stable enough to run. Ive been running it off and on since release. The only actual bad bug is stock browser crashes. If you use chrome it doesn't crash at all. And its launcher is flakey until you disable hw overlay.
Idk who has been having such problems with it but I use it as a dd.
You would have to talk to smartguy44 to get it or see if I can hook you up with his release.
I didn't make it so its just out of courtesy.

If you're disabling overlay, what is the point? Aren't you almost better off just running a touchwiz ROM or cm10?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using xda app-developers app
Smartguy posted earlier that he would be uploading the jb build again

You get the jb and tw benefits you dont have on cm10 or ics. Its not a whole lot but there is some stuff that is only on the tw jb.

I was fine with it too... used chrome to get over the browser bug and also there was one other bug that really 'bugged' me. The phone would lock up if I shut the screen off in landscape mode. Which is completely avoidable. And the missing LTE icon. Other than that its perfect. I still have the .zip file but I suggest waiting for smartguy to repost or provide it to you. Unless he's OK with it I don't mind sharing his work. Just don't forget to thank him

Yesterday I flashed TW JellyBean 747, ever since my battery has died in about 5 hours, my phone gets hot and the screen guess crazy. Any ideas?
Sent from my SGH-I747 using xda app-developers app
Did you do a full wipe before flashing? It sounds like you have conflicting software running the processor crazy. In any case i would do a full wipe and reinstall the ROM again, if the problem persists then your phone may not like that particular ROM.

Try downloading romtoolbox lite (link at bottom) from the market and going to the second tab with cpu manager. Having downloaded these roms before some people set the minimum cpu really high to boost the benchmarks of their rom. If its high turn it down. It might help. Don't forget to slap that thanks button

TW Jellybean ROMs have this issue, which you would know if you looked around some.

Why does it seem to me like the stock tom is by far the best. I just got this phone. And ive tried a couple of custom roms on here and most the time there laggy and the battery life sucks completely.
Maybe im wrong. If you feel I am wrong, feel free to point me in the right direction
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using xda app-developers app
You just need to customize and tweak kernels.... when jb drops for att these roms will be just what I'm looking for!
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using xda app-developers app
I know what you're talking about, I just love the custom themes. So the closet to stock and the aesthetics I want, is black jelly which uses the stock sprint rom, themed with the black theme

With ICS I couldn't get even 1 4g BAR at work. Finally on JB and I have full strength at work . No wonder sprint waited so long. They were squeezing our bandwidth by device and OS.

You know that on ics our 4G signal bar didn't work right?

Funny, mine's slower now. Your signal level hasn't changed, just the way it's reported has.

It took a while to load a Web page and would oscillate between 3g and 4g. Now it's stable and fast. My 3g seems more useful too whereas before 3g was equivalent to no data at all.

The new radio is a lot better. I have considerably better speeds up to almost two megabits down on evdo. The statement that the os itself probably didn't change a ton except how the speeds are reported is true though.

Seems like they would've addressed the inferior radios before JB. Makes me think it was a form of throttling.
Sent from my LG-LS970 using xda app-developers app
Took HTC and Sprint forever to address the lousy radio on the EVO3d when it was released. I was surprised when I went from a Transform to a 3d and was surprised by the slower loading webpages... Yeah not a fun experience to get a faster phone to be hobbled by the actual firmware.

They probably try to do as few otas as possible, to minimize costs and technical errors. Perhaps Qualcomm released new stuff, but I doubt sprint, one of the slower networks, would want to throttle their devices.

My 4g speeds are incredibly slow after JB. Not sure if it is the ROM I'm using or an error in the way o flashed.

Radios can make your performance worse as well. Perhaps flash an old one from zv7,8, or 9
Sent from my LG-LS970 using xda app-developers app
Yes they can, my phone did not want to send text messages after the JB ota, and my 4g signal sucked too.
Does anyone have flashable radios from ICS that i can flash onto this ****ty jelly bean update?

Hmm there may not be any then. I hadn't seen any, but hoped perhaps you would. Unfortunately, I can't help. My PC is down so I can't unpack the tot. Either go in irc and have someone dump the IMG or perhaps you would want to lgnpst and then restore a backup in recovery.

i have the ZV7 tot. file. Can you tell me what I have to do to extract the radio's and make it flashable? Thanks

It's not really the easiest and the tool I have requires Linux. PM snowleopardjb and tell him I sent you. He can do it for ya with lgextract. Sorry I would but I shipped my PC out a couple days ago. It was dying on me.

So I was on wicked ROM and was getting bad data speeds inside my home.
So I switched to INFAMOUS ROM and was getting a lot faster speeds.
So I compared their build files in system and I found that these settings from infamous was what giving me better speeds.
I went back to wicked and changed the data tweaks and was getting better speeds.
Of course some may vary.
Sent from my SGH-T999 using xda app-developers app
Wicked has stated something along his ROM and data I think, may be wrong but he doesn't add those lines for what ever reason. Many do add them cause they believe they work.
