Better data speed with this - T-Mobile, Samsung Galaxy SIII

So I was on wicked ROM and was getting bad data speeds inside my home.
So I switched to INFAMOUS ROM and was getting a lot faster speeds.
So I compared their build files in system and I found that these settings from infamous was what giving me better speeds.
I went back to wicked and changed the data tweaks and was getting better speeds.
Of course some may vary.

Wicked has stated something along his ROM and data I think, may be wrong but he doesn't add those lines for what ever reason. Many do add them cause they believe they work.

Read the first few posts in the baseband thread for more on this and how you might be able to make it even better.

But if u go to wicked build file it looks like he already added some data tweaks

Yup, but depending on your area, are they really the best they could be?

random access memory

I have a question. How much you have in the manager writes all RAM? I have 1.59GB, and you have what?

1.59gb from stock rom.

Shouldn't make a difference.
Pretty sure stock bases do make a difference as there was a discussion a while back about it. The first base our phones come with had 1.6 then an update came out and it was 1.59 afterwards.

.01 GB isn't a big deal. The running apps screen doesn't even show everything correctly anyways. I added my free and used three times, and got 1.63,1.6 and 1.59. They will all be around 1.6GB. I'm on CM10 and it's the same as stock as you were saying so it won't make a difference.
Sent from my SGH-T999
1629 MB (around 1.6 GB) - on CM10.
Oh no, in reality it won't make the slightest difference lol. I was just saying in numbers it will... ya this thread is almost pointless the difference is so minimal between all numbers.

REDICULOUSLY SLOW DATA on PA 2.51

I'm using paranoid android 2.51, and lean kernel 1.6 with the UVLI8 radio and my data is VERY slow even with full bars. Do any of you guys have this problem?
Sent from my SGH-T999 using xda premium
Have you tried different radio's and have you edited your build prop at all. I'm using uvlh3 baseband with the same kernel and rom as you and I get great speeds
Sent from my SGH-T999 using xda premium
Also, check your data usage. You may have been throttled if you went over your quota.

Try flashing a different room after you backup and see if you still have the problem... If so then Odin back to full stock and see if it persists.. If so from them go to your nearest Tmobile store and have them take a look

4g LTE After Jelly Bean

With ICS I couldn't get even 1 4g BAR at work. Finally on JB and I have full strength at work . No wonder sprint waited so long. They were squeezing our bandwidth by device and OS.

It took a while to load a Web page and would oscillate between 3g and 4g. Now it's stable and fast. My 3g seems more useful too whereas before 3g was equivalent to no data at all.

The new radio is a lot better. I have considerably better speeds up to almost two megabits down on evdo. The statement that the os itself probably didn't change a ton except how the speeds are reported is true though.

Seems like they would've addressed the inferior radios before JB. Makes me think it was a form of throttling.
Sent from my LG-LS970 using xda app-developers app
Took HTC and Sprint forever to address the lousy radio on the EVO3d when it was released. I was surprised when I went from a Transform to a 3d and was surprised by the slower loading webpages... Yeah not a fun experience to get a faster phone to be hobbled by the actual firmware.

They probably try to do as few otas as possible, to minimize costs and technical errors. Perhaps Qualcomm released new stuff, but I doubt sprint, one of the slower networks, would want to throttle their devices.

My 4g speeds are incredibly slow after JB. Not sure if it is the ROM I'm using or an error in the way o flashed.

Radios can make your performance worse as well. Perhaps flash an old one from zv7,8, or 9
Sent from my LG-LS970 using xda app-developers app
Yes they can, my phone did not want to send text messages after the JB ota, and my 4g signal sucked too.
Does anyone have flashable radios from ICS that i can flash onto this ****ty jelly bean update?

Hmm there may not be any then. I hadn't seen any, but hoped perhaps you would. Unfortunately, I can't help. My PC is down so I can't unpack the tot. Either go in irc and have someone dump the IMG or perhaps you would want to lgnpst and then restore a backup in recovery.

3G/H+ issue in AOSP ROMs

Hey guys, I guess this has been reported before but I've never seen solutions or explanations for it. On AOSP ROMs, data works when it displays "H+", when its in "3G", it stops working, but thing is, sometimes I have to turn off data and back on again for it to work properly because it stays stuck in 3G
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-T999 using xda premium
That's a rom related issue, not all aosp ROMs have that issue.

You can use it, though it hasn't been updated in a very long time. Only thing we know of so far for the md5 heat issue is to use a different modem.
You can flash any modem as long as it is for your model.

Some context might help - what ROM are you using, have you tweaked any CPU/GPU settings, etc. Even with that data, however, it may be difficult to compare one device with another. I find benchmarks help me determine the impact of changes I make on my own device vs, other settings on my device; so many variables come into play when you compare one device with another that it makes benchmark numbers less helpful.
In a vacuum, though... looks good? :good:
I'm running stock odexed haven't touch anything

If benchmarks really mattered I would say its a little low. Ran it on mine and got 6900+. Im using Tweaked Rom not overclocked. Cant remember what stock is. But again I dont fi d benchmarks all that accurate.
