Hey all,
Just thought I might throw the idea out there, would it be possible to create a continuum style notification either in place or over the menu buttons at the bottom? That would be pretty interesting.

I'm not sure what this is, could you describe it?
http://www.samsung.com/us/mobile/cell-phones/SCH-I400ZKAVZW
its that small second display across the bottom. it shows news updates, text messages, RSS messages, facebook posts etc.
and im with you OP, this could be cool
Something that could be toggled easily (say a button opposite where the small menu button appears) that is always up. This way you have notifications/new messages and still retain easy access to your soft buttons.
It could display last X number of Facebook messages, or G+ posts from selected contacts, or twitter posts with certain tags.

This is an interesting idea. It would be redundant in normal use, but when notification bar is hidden (i.e. full screen browsing, games etc.) it would be cool to see notifications pop up on the nav bar.
I'm just not a huge fan of the notification bar, and with the new .zips to hide the bottom buttons it leaves room for this

Fun fact the second screen is actually part of the main screen

On the continuum?

Or perhaps turn the nav bar into a "dock' that you could slide and have a notification ticker as one of the things you could add to it

Another idea would be for the MIUI style pop up notification and have it appear over the nav buttons
Wtf this feature was my fav of the ET4G! In the browser, when you pinch to zoom the text would automatically format to fit the screen. This made any website mobile. Sure there are mobile sites, but this feature made text more viewable. Why would they remove this feature?? Any workaround??

Been my daily for months, left both operas for it. Best browser for ICS and still has reflow.

I have that browser. How do I get it to work? I have it checked in settings but it doesn't work. In fact whenever I try and zoom a screen, it bounces back!

I've noticed with some browsers you have to double click where the text is for it to work. But I'm having no issues with text reflow on boat browser.
this (whoops, forgot to quote, I'm referring to the post immediately above mine), even in the stock browser simply double tapping text makes it fit to the screen
Sent from my SPH-D710 using xda app-developers app
You mean the text automatically fills the screen perfectly or it just zooms in with text being cut off?
I appreciate you guys chiming in. I'm trying to determine if this is an isolated issue or due to upgrading to FF18. On the stock rom, no matter what browser I used, I was able to zoom way in and the text would auto reformat to fit the screen.

+1 zoom in at the text size desired and then, double tap on the screen for reflow to happen. I missed this feature and found it by accident, 2 days ago

in stock browser make sure you have "auto fit text" selected in settings>advanced ... if not check it then double tap will work...
Occasionally I will get a text that when I tap to open the image, it opens in Gallery, and allows me to do those exact same things as I could inside the Gallery app. Basically, when I get an MMS picture, I want to be able to tap the picture to preview it, and be able to pinch and zoom the picture. Like I said above, every once and a while I will get a picture that does not open as a video and I can tap, pinch, and zoom it. It looks as though it previewed in Gallery.
I'm stock ROM, and Messaging app, and really would like to stay that way. I am rooted though.
Anyone?

Anyone at all? This is a very annoying issue... Pictures show up as a video, which is why I can't pinch/zoom...
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using xda premium
This has happened to me before. I believe it depends how the sender sends the image. If it's a slide show you will see it as "video". If it's sent as an image attachment you'll see it as a picture.
You can still save the image if it's on a slide show. I believe you just press menu and select save. Then you select the items you want to save and see them in the gallery where you can zoom and all that.
Hope this helps

Thank you for a reply!
Anyway, it's actually happening when people that have dumb phones, and smart phones send pictures to me. They typically send just one at a time. I've noticed it came through a few times as it should, but I can't recall what the model is..
I am able to save them to gallery, but that is extremely inconvenient..

Hi,
Have noticed when trying to trace an image with my s-pen on the screen with the button pushed that sometimes it just doesn't seem to "take" and capture the image even though I have traced all the way around to the little beginning circle. This seems to happen mostly if I am tracing a smaller image.
Am I doing something wrong or is this just a bug? If it is a bug is there a way to fix it?
SECONDARY QUESTION:
It seems the only way to crop out a square image is to do a screen capture by pushing down the s-pen button and pressing it to the screen then using the crop tool. However, it would be nice to be able to actually draw a perfect crop square in the same way we do a trace capture. Is there any combination of buttons that does that?
I have noticed on my Note 10.1 tablet that I can trace an image in one multiview screen then just drag the into s-notes in the other pane and it pastes. However, with the GN2 this "drag and drop" doesn't seem to work. Am I doing something wrong?
Last thing. Have noticed that on my Note 10.1 I can do a screen capture of the active multiview pane; however, with the GN2 it seems to capture both multiview panes then squishes the entire capture into one pane. Again, am I doing this wrong or is that a bug?
Thanks!
for perfect squares, well and now everything I have been lasso'ing a larger area and then using the photo editor app to crop them down ...for the reason that I noticed the longer I take to get a clean lasso the less chance I have of it working.
Interesting find on the screenshot deal. If I take a screen shot by hand swipe it is normal. Taking it with the pen results in squished screen.
As for the drag and drop I swear it worked out of the box...then the ljc update changed it but I could be wrong. I just know it does not work that way anymore. Similarly I recal draggingbthe lasso'd image to say messaging in the icons at bottom of screen ...now after the update I just hit messaging

I guess the point is that there are a number of things which work as they should on the Note 10.1 that don't seem to work that way on the GN2. It's not a screen real estate issue so I'm not sure what the problem is.
Just seems kind of buggy to me, especially the tracing part.
My Note 10.1 came with a specially designed version of photoshop but I'm not seeing that on my GN2. Am I missing it? I guess I just expected these to be close to the same except smaller. Maybe not.
For instance on the Note 10.1 in multiview each pane gets its own Min, Max and Close buttons but not here. Odd.

I know about those who but they aren't the same. On the Note 10.1 each frame has its own buttons which remain persistent. Like in Windows. Much better.

I find it works best to hold the button, draw your shape/circle then lift the pen with the button still held... works every time.

For those that use the default email app, does anyone know how to enable the width of the email to fit the screen? All my emails falls short of the width and have to scroll left and right.
The Gmail app has the fit to screen feature. Was wondering if an update was coming from samsung to enable this.
