Hey guys
I just bought my first ever android phone(note 2 of course) and I'm loving it so far.I use it pretty much the whole day and I found the screen to be a little too saturated and it hurt my eyes after a lot of usage .So I found the screen modes and tried "natural"
And so far,my eyes have been much more relaxed but I'm finding the colors a bit washed out(that's maybe because I was used to the standard mode ? )
Anyway,what color mode do you use and why ?
Thanks
I use standard, but neutral looks more real, more close to natural colors. OLED screens are over saturated itself, so it's better to use Neutral. But yeah, colors do look little washed out!

$1m reward for information leading to turning off the lights in the home/menu/back/search buttons. They waste power and more important when I read at night with low light red render, the bright button lights are blinding.
Hmm. It depends in the rom you are using.
If it is a cyanogen kind rom you simply change the settings.
Kind regards Holger.

If you like to read at night SCREEN FILTER (free from market) is a great program.
Where is my $1m?

SUPERB!!!!
For so long I have been wondering could I switch off the softkey lights while watching media. It's a waste of battery and not needed.
Watching a TV show with 3 bright lights lit up on the phone. argh... I use this app now to keep brightness for screen at 100% but just to turn off annoying button lights while watching movie etc.
Nice.
Thanks Artukas

First off no it should not burn out your pixels.... go into voodoo control app and scroll down until you see super amoled hardware control or something like that... now just go into each of those menus and tweak to your liking... the link that was posted is good but it ends up very dark if you have auto brightness on... these are my settings...
Red=2157709920
Green=2290649440
Blue=2565373480
Next red=-53 green=-48 blue=-43. Looks amazing... hope this helps

Hey guys, what are the optimal settings for taking the best possible photos using the camera? Also, what is the difference between the flash symbol with an A and without? Thanks.
Flash without A is forced flash (always on)
With a is automatic and only kicks in if light is low.

There aren't really any 'optimal' settings, apart from making sure you're taking 8mp photo's. Whether you want to take pictures in widescreen or not is up to you. I prefer not. Apart from that, it completely depends on the lighting and subject matter. If you have a relatively steady hand, the subject isn't going to move much and the lighting is alright, then the HDR setting can take some fantastic pictures. Auto seems to fine for most things

Do note that when the camera is on, the screen brightness is automatically set the maximum brightness, so a picture might look quite a bit darker in Gallery. I've set my screen at 30% brightness during normal use
Hi everyone!
As a Note II user, I really enjoy the "warm vintage" camera effect, and I shoot the 80% of the photos with this filter activated. After I tried many Apps, I'm stick with this stock effect because creates an excellent tone and colours, and does not look so vintage. But I will change my phone in a few months, and I can't find any App with something like that. Could anyone help me out with this? Thanks a lot!
Snapseed and even Line camera app have those and many other effects - but I like Snapseed's ability to adjust more.

Yes, you are right, I should have explained myself better. I meant I'm looking for the effect in real time, as is built in our Notes, so you can see it before you take the picture, not a filter you can apply later. And also I'd like the same white balance and colour saturation that "warm vintage" has, not an approximate solution. Thanks anyway for the response!:laugh::good:

It was only included in Note2, not in any model after that.
Hello, just switched from Galaxy S3 to Xperia Z3 and badly missing the warm vintage effect on my cammera, from same reasons as originator of this thread.
Can anyone advice which camera app is matching, if any?
Thank you very much
Try "Open Camera", it's free in the Playstore. It has quite same Warm Vintage effects in the stock camera app.

Thank you for the hint. Open Camera is nowhere near my expectation. Its true, that with white balance manually set to Daylight or Cloudy-daylight, the colours are much more alive, but not as much as I would imagine.
Any other idea? It really not possible to transfer the Samsung (S3) camera mode to other device?

Tried this?
I haven't seen this question answered anywhere. If we assume correctly that black crush is software issue, does it mean custom roms shouldn't have it? Has anyone who tried one can confirm that this is the case?
it isn't fixed in custom ROM's either man.

nope, but using the screen balance app will do the trick for now

Using another app to fix screen problems is not a good solution. This probably means that it's actual hardware issue, which is sad

Did you try playing a video with dark scenes? I barely had any issues with lockscreen, mainly on apps like youtube.
it's easier actually, just open a pic perfect black with something shiny/colored, and then zoom in and out, watch the black around that white/color. "works" for me on max brightness to replicate it.
the custom roms make it much less visible compared to miui though, and reducing the brightness to something sensible is always a good idea. on auto brightness i can't see it ever.
it's probably a hardware issue or smth in the display driver. but tbh it's not a big deal during every day use.

Yeah, it isn't a big issue or I would return it and buy the phone I wanted before this (Note 10 pro). But the fact is, there is an issue and it's sad that they allowed it to happen to upper midrange phone.
