Hi guys, i am about to buy an i317 att version, i m new to android, i ve only used 1 android device before(HTC Insipre 4G, which i sold 2 months aafter i got it SUCK). So, i know that att's stock ROM has a lot of att's own apps, and i want to get rid of it.
Can i flash in a stock N7105 rom into the i317?and what should i do before flashing any rom into my phone? do i need to root it frist? or maybe unlock it first? if so, how can i do it.
i saw people in youtube show off their i317 with N7105 rom.
thx a lot you guys.

Hello,
First time poster here. Thanks to everyone in this community for all of the help and info.
I have acquired a Rogers S3 and will be using it on Telus Mobility. It is unlocked and works great.
I know how to get to a rooted Rogers stock ROM.
My question is - can I change the stock ROM on the phone from Rogers to Telus stock ROM?
The idea is to turn it into a "telus" phone and work from there as far as trying new things with my phone.
Thanks for any info.

I am not certain what your goal is here but you are going to have to root in order to do this, so I would suggest root, backup current rom, slow strip out any "Rogers" stuff you don't want. I don't think there is much difference between the 2 roms other than bloatware. There are very few telus apps on my phone. So I am not sure you will actually gain much.
Root it and put on Task's AOKP rom and be done with it.
You can install a rooted Telus Rom, or ODIN back to Telus Stock S3 rom. As said above, only difference is bloatware..
Thanks Guys,
I figured out how to get rid of the Rogers bloatware, and have the phone set up as I like it for now.
At some point, I will try some of the other ROMs offered here.
Where can I get the at&t stock rom. Not the one that was debloated but the one that comes with the phone. I messed up a little flashing roms and need to start all over again. I have searched and I might have just over looked it. Sorry in advance

So other members told me to flash stock rom/firmware but I can't seem to find the right one for my device
It's running on 4.3 Jellybean and it's from the Philippines (Globe). I found a couple of stock roms but it doesn't match with my phones N7100XXUENA1, could only find N7100XXUEML3, scared I might lose GPS, WiFi, Bluetooth or Network Connection
and if I flash the rom with wrong AP & CSC (but correct Carrier and Country) what would happen?
If you guys know where I could get one would be great

SGH-M919 is the T-Mobile variant, so it should be no problem.
The easiest way to go back to stock is to use KIES, but that will revert you back to V.
You can download stock and flash with ODIN. As long as it is stock T-Mobile and you have a T-Mobile account, WiFi calling will work fine.

I have a T-mobile account so with ODIN I can flash the current version directly and it will work... That's good news
Where do I find the latest version?
Is there anything I need to do specifically since I have Nextel firmware in the phone.

OK I tried ODIN 3.09 with firmware version M919UVUFNB4 which is 4.4.2 and it failed with a bootloader permission error
I already have 4.4.2 on the phone but its the Nextel Firmware
I read something about installing modem.bin is that my problem?

No, the modem wouldn't be your problem. Since you are already updated to the official 4.4.2, you now have KNOX to worry about. If you don't care about setting the 0x1 flag, your best bet would more than likely be to flash a custom recovery and a modded/stock ROM specifically for the M919 from the Android Development section. You keep mentioning that you have a Nextel device... just to confirm, you have a T-Mobile SIM, correct? Because if not, WiFi calling won't work for you anyway.
Yup, I have a T-mobile account and the phone has a T-mobile SIM in it
I don't think that KNOX flag is an issue as it is an unlocked Non T-mobile phone.
If I have an issue with the phone at all T-mobile is not going to support it.
The model phone I have apparently is exactly the same as the T-mobile branded phone, when I registered it with Samsung they identify it as a T-mobile phone.
I guess I could just get a 1900MHZ repeater and call it a day as well.

You could, I guess... but I would be willing to bet that it would be a lot cheaper to just get WiFi calling working
Like I said, you'll probably have to forget going the Odin route and use a custom recovery and modded/stock T-Mobile TouchWiz ROM.
First of All I want to say sorry for poting this query in Another thread, really don't want to create another thread Can I install ROMs from Tmobile section to my i9505 (international Variant)? There're loads of great ROMs here wanna try some of them..but bit afraid to brick the device, even though both devices shares same hardware...just want to confirm from you people

T-mobile TouchWiz ROM.. Is that stable?
I'm not interested in constantly flashing the phone to get the bug fixes ...
I'd give a stable ROM a try so is that the one to go with?

Yeah, most every ROM posted in the development section is stable, TouchWiz or AOSP. Just make sure you read the OP to confirm that whichever ROM has WiFi calling included as there are TW ROMs which have been ported to our device from other carrier's S4s.... Only those specifically for the M919 will have WiFi calling and it will be specified in the OP. I'm not going to recommend which ROM to flash, but from someone who's tried them all... you can't make a bad decision whatever you choose.

Yes, you can. The only S4 ROMs you should stay away from are those made for the i9500 and non-standard S4's (i.e. S4 mini, S4 Active, etc). Any other variant of the standard S4 (including the i9505G) is good to go; just use a kernel for your specific device. On that note though, the i9505 and M919 kernels are interchangeable, so there's no need to follow that protocol when using our ROMs for your device and vice versa.

Thanks bro for your reply, that's great to know and gained extra 150+ ROMs thread as well really good to use great ROMS in this section
After doing some research my question:
The reason I can't use this firmware is due to the fact that my current baseband is higher than the one I was attempting to flash.
I have FNE2 and was trying to flash FNB4?
Thoughts?
Still looking to do this did anything change here? Has anyone successfully with flashing this with the stock ROM?
I'm a T- Mobile customer
Thanks
