Is there a way to reply to all from a multi person text from an iPhone? Whenever I get a text conversion from my friends that are on iPhones, I can only respond to the person who sent the text and no one else sees my response.

I'm using go sms, and there's an option to support multiple recipients and iPhone compatibility. Basically it changes text sms to text mms, but in the end, it DOES work - I've done it.
Go sms is free in the play store

not sure about the answer to this, but I get SUPER annoyed when my iPhone friends use their iMessage or whatever and I get all the messages lol
I too use go SMS pro but also get annoyed getting everyone else's reply when its not necessary. It'll also drain your battery more as it receives the messages as mms and it has to dl it as data.

There's a version of the aosp messaging app that has it built in

Call T-Mobile. Other than that I don't think there is any other way.

You still need to install the app on your phone. If he doesn't have access to his phone to install the app (even from the play store via the web) it won't work.
Sent from somewhere....if I could only remember where....
It's useless at this point, but you can do this with Google Voice. You might want to check it out when you get your phone back.

Checking sms online?
Yes, once I deleted a very important message on my phone and there was a client’s phone number, my boss asked me to call him but I lost its number. Then I was blamed by my boss. Since then, I found many ways to solve this problem, but I got nothing. Then I went to some websites to find more ways and I knew keylogger like iKeyMonitor ( www.ikeymonitor.com ) had its function. It can record SMS and phone calls all the time. So I install it on my phone. God, I can’t stand with it another time.
My friend just recently switched from an iPhone to a galaxy note 2 and I was wondering if there was a way to get the the verizon version of the messaging app because it threads group conversations. This would have to be without root because he would never root.

I think the app in the playstore called "go sms" does it. Now it doesn't always work. Right now im rooted on a AOSP ROM that has threaded group messaging and it works flawlessly
Excuse my ignorance but what is threaded group messaging?

If you send out a text to more than one person it is considered a group message. As it currently is, you will receive a response from each of the individuals in their own message thread. With threaded group messaging all responses to the original text are kept within that thread. It's a really nice feature to have if you do a lot of group texting.
Do you use the default built in one or another?
I was using samsung's default sms app but just went back to what I was using on my dell streak which is Go SMS Pro.
For some odd reason every once in awhile my default sms would sometimes freak out and show no messages at all until I restarted then a lot of messages would be missing after I restarted.
Hoping that Go SMS Add's a split view like the default sms.
I use handcent sms and have never had any issues... used handcent on all 5 Android devices that I have owned....

I'm using a combination of default and Fusion Messenger. Fusion is in beta and gets an update almost every day but it is coming along very well. Yesterday I finally decided to use it as my main app. It's missing MMS at the moment but that is next on the list. After that Google Talk will be added.
I've tried lots of messaging apps but always come back to stock.

I like GoSMS and all of its advanced options, and plus ya can doodle in it with ya SPen and others can see it and don't need anything special to view it.

I use messaging + goggle voice in the app store. Paid app but same feel as stock and incorporates google voice texts. I hated using the gv app to text and wanted them all in one place. I use google voice for my personal line and the carrier line for work. This solved both problems and let me keep the look and feel of stock.

I think it does bother him. This is the 3rd thread that he bumps up saying the same thing.
Apparently if it's a question in any way shape or form then is in the wrong place to him!
Even if its a question pertaining to apps or themes and which ones you use or why...

I made a pleasant discovery today. An iPhone friend sent out a group message and when replies were received they were maintained in a group message. If it's a known feature it was not working for me. Something to note. I use Handcent for messaging and when I installed an antivirus app it gave me a message the Handcent had the highest priority for messaging and and to be downgraded for the antivirus to scan sms/mms. I let it lower the priority for Handcent and low and behold, group messaging works. I don't know if this is just a coincidence or fluke but thought I would share it.
I'm also on Freeza's stock rooted odex rom, with stock kernel.
What antivirus are you using. First!

Avast Mobile Security. Also, discovered if I send the group message it's received on iPhone as individual message. So my Galaxy will only keep the messages grouped if initiated by an iPhone user. Oh well, still beats getting everyone's individual replies taking up space in my messaging app.
Well there is something there. And i believe that with a liytle investigation you can check the process of which the iphone sends group messaging and possibly mimic there procedure. Dont know but it would be nice.

GoSms has group messaging as well.. and it allows you to start a group SMS with iPhone.. it just slows down when every one messaging at once which is annoying as hell.. I at first thought it was my phone but nope can get into other apps and text in same msging app to another person with no problem.. sucks but it works

WHAT?! I'm about to pull this and install...
quick question. I'm still on Freeza's 4.1.1 fre3 (haven't bothered to upgrade yet) - would a 4.1.2 mms.apk work on 4.1.1?
I'm so n moar and don't have group messaging. It has the option in settings but doesn't work. Am I missing something? I had tpr and the same issue. It will not do group messaging. I've checked the setting on and off and still no luck

Sent from my SPH-L710 using xda app-developers app
I've seen some of the roms implement this but I have hsd scattered messages meaning if onenperson sent a big text in the group chat I would receive message 2of2 before 1of2. I use gosms because at least I get the messages in the right order but as someone recently stated it slows down significantly when everyone texts at once.

No, I mean make a group. You can't use group messaging unless you make groups. Just sending to multiple recipients is not the same. Android group messaging is different then iPhone's.

When I used gosms it worked ok. Half the messages came as SMS in individual thread the other half were in the group thread and it always locked up and took forever to load. Is there something I am missing?

Kenny - Could you elaborate a bit. If I receive a group message sent from an iPhone to 4 people, you're saying I could reply to all 4 people and keep the conversation going??? Just curious since most of my family uses iPhones...

I cannot verify that. I do know you have the ability to make groups such as family, mothers, fathers, etc to be able to send a message to the whole group at once. I never got an incoming iphone group message. Will have to ask my daughters to help investigate this as against my advice they got iphones thinking that's what the cool kids were doing....kids!

Everytime I send a message I get back a message from 9230 basically telling me that I have chosen to blocked all outgoing and in coming texts from this number. Then it says "Msg 2134" Why is this happening it just happened out of nowwhere. Clean flashes, restores and going from TW to AOSP didn't change anything.
Call your provider. Before that, are you using anything but the stock Sms app? GO SMS, handecent, etc.

No was on a TW rom using stock app that worked fine and then it just kept giving me the error even when i messaged myself or even some random number that is not my contact
Chexk your setting for the phone on sprints website. There is an option to block or unblock all incoming or out going texts and calls. Make sure its not checked by accident.

Also may be the APN????
I had some issues on AOSP with the messaging not working right and it was from the original ROM being from another carrier and ported here.
Had to go in and change them. Still had some issues so came back to TW
