Likewise
As of last night I started to have this issue as well. It is eating my battery life as it turns on my screen at random intervals. The clock app seems to be affected as well, as it will switch to it if I am using my phone. I am debating whether I should just remove cm9, and suffer through touchwiz. My phone is bordering on being unusable. Please help.

That usually means that there's a pin bent, or damaged in your usb slot.

Stopping screen timeout when under power

Sprint SPH-L710
rooted and running Blazer 1.6 Rom
I have not been able to set up this phone to stay alive when under power. It makes it nearly useless as a GPS. I think this is an ICS issue more than the phone but nevertheless, I would still like the option.
Now I do have several apps that can keep the phone lit but that is another matter. Any ideas?
You can try this app. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.k2.no.screen.off

Things i hate about the recent ics update

Los problems i never had before
Bad battery life
No mass storage usb mode
The worst is... It makes sound when you power it off now. Who was the genius that thought that one up? Like on the middle of a movie theater or in a meeting.
This is driving me to root my phone. Gj Samsung.

1. Let the kernel sit sometimes it takes a while to set in. If not try a factory reset. Resets are usually needed after an Android update to function properly. My batt did drop a lil than on GB but not too bad.
2. I believe sfhub has a tweak to enable USB storage back if you need it that bad.
3. When in the movie theater or a meeting a phone should be on vibrate from the start. All it takes is a drop down of the notification bar and voila vibrate or silent without powering down. But if you chose to power off the sound it makes would be silenced.
None of your issues sound as bad as what many others are experiencing..

My wife's phone now takes 3+ seconds to wake from sleep and she constantly complains about the big ugly notification icons.
Still can't convince her to root though... oh well.

Glide turns off when opened or closed too fast

I believe the shock is too hard on the Glide when I pop my keyboard open. This results in the Glide to turn off as if it was dropped or something.
I have noticed the phone to turn off as well when I put in my pocket and after a while notice I did not recevie any notifications because it is turned off.
Does anybody else noticed this with their Glide? And is there a way to solve this? My Glide works perfectly if I am really careful, but I also want to be able to not have to check every time I put my phone down on a table.

I noticed this aswell, but my one just restarts sometimes.
But I'm not sure whether it is related to a shock or something like that.
(Running rooted att stock rom)

This happens with my HTC Dream, it's the battery, it becomes warped, tape some card stock to the top of the battery and the problem should go away.
Thank you for both your answers. I will try out your solution and post if it works. (Running on stock btw)

Who would have know that a little piece of paper taped to the battery of the Glide would fix a problem this easy! After a week of regular use and testing no sudden restarts or a sudden turned off Glide. Thanks man!

Home and power button not responsive after root ?

What's up guys. So I rooted my s3 with the qcom toolkit. I noticed that when my phone is asleep, and I try to wake up my phone by pressing the home or power button, its doesn't respond sometimes. I would have to press it couple of times to wake it up. (With obvious reasons I do wait a few seconds to press the home/power button to wake it up). I also noticed that when Im done with a phone call,my screen is black and I can't wake it up. I've had times where I had to pull the battery out. On a side note, my friend with a rooted s3 has these problems occurring as well. In a addition , I'm running paranoid android 2.54 (
Stable). I've also tries liquid smooth to see if it was an issue with the rim,but unfortunately it wasn't. So if anyone noticed this problem after the root please let me know and if you have a solution to this,I'd appreciate it if you can inform me. And sorry if this topic was already covered but I tried searching around and couldn't find anything. Thanks.

It's an issue with paranoid android.
You carried the problem with you to the second flash
Do a wipe.
Reinstall paranoid android.
Or
A diff ROM

I actually fully wiped everything from data, cache, to davik. On both occasions, I fully wiped when I went from paranoid to liquid and back to paranoid.

Root cannot by itself cause problems. The problems you and your friend are having are rom problems. These AOSP roms have bugs. Unable to wake phone is lovingly referred to as the sleep of death.

So from what I've been reading, I have to change the kernel ? I see that it doesn't occur with some people with their stock kernel

Every phone is different, some might not even be able to boot after flashing some kernels... You need to play with settings UV and OverClock and such and see what works best for you. There are options for profiles; in call, screen off/on, charging, and so on. You are getting issues that are rom/kernel related for the most part, try to fix it within settings mentioned above and good luck.

Super nexus spazzment?

Okay so my nexus us acting super weird when I charge it. Its slowly becoming unusable when its charging.
Like everything just goes haywire, if I touch something it registers it somewhere else on the screen. Like I just held down the lockscreen ring and it randomly open up the lock screen clock widget closed it, tried to press it so it prompted me to open the device. All just when I was holding on to the lock screen ring. It wasn't as bad in the morning but it got worse as time went by.
Only when I was charging.
Soo... Has any of you experienced this funky problem? If so any of ya got a fix for me?

So....what have you tried?
I experienced this not with the Gnex, but with other Android devices when using certain chargers it doesn't like. Try rebooting then using a different charger. What charger you using BTW? :what:
Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk 4
I actually forgot my charger at my friends house so maybe that's the problem. I'll try using another charger. Thanks.
And I already tried changing ROMs to no avail.
