I know I am new here but I assure you that I searched everywhere for the answer before bothering everyone with the question. I have a Sprint S3 running Frankenstein's KillJoy ROM. And it has been running for a day now with no problems until I went to turn off the phone to put a case on it. When I turned the phone back on there was no longer a wallpaper on my home screen. When I long touched the home screen the menu came up but it no longer had the option to change the wallpaper. When I went into the settings and then display I was able to find it there and change it to whatever I wanted but as soon as I hit apply and went back out to my homescreen there was nothing except blackness. I know this ROM is supposed to save battery life but I never heard it was supposed to remove the wallpaper option upon shutdown. I tried everything from live wallpapers to just plain pictures. I am about to bail on this ROM because a black background is a boring background. I have done resets prior and the wallpaper was ok it was the shutdown that did it. If there is any more info I could help with I would be more than happy. Thanks again. Have a great day!
That sounds like a weird issue...I have been running that same ROM for several days across several reboots without an issue. I would try rebooting into recovery and wiping cache, delvik, and fixing permissions. Depending on how much work you did to setup the ROM, you could try dirty-flashing it (simply wiping cache/delvik, and flashing the ROM zip without wiping data) but BACKUP FIRST! =D
If all else fails, wiping everything and starting over is what I would do...I am lazy and don't like spending hours searching/implementing a solution when it takes only 30-45 min to wipe everything, reflash, and restore.
Hope this helps!
Using Rom manager I reinstalled the Rom and wiped the delvil (whatever that is) but I did not wipe the cache. I am unsure how to fix the permissions. I assume what I did already was dirty flashing. That did nothing except the same result. I agree but the problem is that it worked and then it didnt. The only thing I can think of is that I changed the setting so that it would change the homescreen orientation depending on how I was holding the phone. Maybe that messed up the wallpaper. I will try and wipe the cache and reinstall. Let me know how to fix the permissions and I will let you know how it works out and anyone else that has ideas would be great! Thanks again!
and I did change the homescreen orientation setting back to default to see if that fixed the issue before I even posted here.

Thanks I was able to reload the ROM and it is working alright. I figure it was messed up when I set the wallpaper to be a live wallpaper as well as able to auto rotate. That caused a conflict and poof no more wallpaper. Thanks so much for the help!

Hi,
After having the Desire for a year now I finally decided to root and flash a rom. Got through the root pretty well but am now struggling with the rom.
I flashed Oxygen and all looked and felt great until i tried to add a shortcut and widget to my front screen as it never did anything when i chose the option. Then when I pressed the lock button the screen would not boot back up. The key pad lit up but no screen. I took the battery out and rebooted but still the same thing happened.
Ive now done a nadroid restore and back to the stock rom but like the simplicity of Oxygen. Any idea's what it could have been? Can you put widgets and shortcuts on roms?
Before installing i did a facory reset, are there any other resets i need to do?
Sorry for all the questions,
Thx
Hmmmm would seem something messed up. You can try reflashing it. That usually works with a rom (has done for me before). I don't know what launcher Oxygen comes with but you can try another launcher for free and see if that's any different.
When you change to a different rom, you should do a factory reset and wipe the Dalvik cache as well. If your upgrading a rom, you don't need to wipe anything.
To be honest, I am going to install Oxygen and see if there are any errors with it because a lot of people seem to be having issues with it.
**EDIT**
I installed Oxygen RC7 no problems at all. Did data wipe, cache wipe and Dalvik cache wipe then installed it. Added widgets, apps and shortcuts to the launcher.
I guess something messed up for you to wipe as I said above and flash it again.
Cheers for that, i'll give it another try later.
Is it worth updating my radio as there seems to be a lot of debate to weather you need to despite some roms requesting specific radios?
Just re flashed it and everything is working great thx.
Flashing a radio helps if your having problems with data connections on your current radio. To be honest, I just flash the current radio anyway just in case but it isn't necessary.
I am having issues with Kingdom lockscreen. I have installed it and the ringpull comes up with the time but the widgets do not appear. I can go into personalise and choose which widgets to display but they still do not show up. On a couple of occasions they have appeared for less than a second before disappearing. I have flashed the lockscreen a number of times now and still no luck.
Any help would be greatly appreciated

no ideas anyone? I've read of a couple of people with the same issue but literally a couple, ad even then there were no solutions posted
Not had this problem, the only things I could suggest; re-flash the kingdom lockscreen and then wipe the dalvik cache. Or possibly mount system and flash the lockscreen.
Other than that, I'm at a loss.
Sent from my Desire HD using XDA App
In SEOs thread, in the OP, he states that some solutions to some problems.
Try 'clear data' in HTC Sense (the one with the home screen as a logo) in the 'Remove App' settings.
NOTE: it will delete your Home Screen widgets.
But go read his 1st post, and he tells you which data to clear when you have issues with some of his MODs
Thanks for the help, tried all the above and still the same problem. Really puzzles me why it would be happening and its not a more common problem. I followed the instructions to a T when flashing ARHD and the mods as I'm sure most other people did so I really am stumped by this
So I've just flashed ARHD 5.1.8 and the all in one sense 3.0 pack and still having the same issue
The sense pack includes kingdom lockscreen I should have said
Re flashed 5.1.8, wiped cache and dalvik cache, rebooted into recovery, flashed sense 3.0 pack and still the same problem. Must be something wrong with my phone, dont know what though, very frustrating
Again the apps appeared for a second and then disappeared the first time I rebooted
I think I might just have to wipe and start again from scratch. eek
Yes that seems the best thing to do. A hardware fault is extremely unlikely.
Jeez I hope not! I meant something software related though, I just did a full backup after I installed the ROM so maybe it something from that. I think I'll wipe and start from a clean install and see if that helps. Do you know what the backup of apps is like from google? Reliable? Does it backup in-app data yet?
This post is purely to get up to 10 posts so I can post in the right forum. Apologies

SILLY QUESTION from my side BUT why are you trying to flash Kingdom lockscreen? Doesn't it have that installed already?
Try just re-flashing the ROM WITHOUT full wipe. If that doesn't work then try downloading the ROM again.. fresh download, clean wipe, data, cache and delvik and re-install ;o)
Hope this helps you mate!!
On both Blazer (w/ rogue and Lost Kernel) and Calks 2.0 (only tried rogue) whenever I reboot my phone nine times out of ten, it hangs on the lockscreen with a random date and random time flashing back and forth between no signal and the regular status bar symbols. It is unresponsive to touch and repeats the process of the keys lighting up, screen comes on for about 4 seconds, keys turn off, screen turns off. Repeat... If I hit the power button, the pop up shows up but I can't touch anything so I end up having to do a battery pull and reflash the rom. I've re-downloaded both roms to rule out a bad copy. I over-wipe every time I flash a new rom formatting system, wiping data, cache, and dalvik, and then flashing Calk's format all.
I messed with it last night and it seems pretty random but more often than not, it happens. If I try to restore a nandroid I had made recently, it does the same thing. In other words, there were multiple instances where I flashed the rom, got it set up, booted to recovery to make a back up, and then it wouldn't boot back up NOR could I get my back up to boot up.
What in the hell could be causing this??? Please and 1000 thank you's!!!!
First of all, sorry to tell you I don't have the answer.
I have this exact same issue and have tried almost everything you have tried, (I didnt have a back up since I just got this phone not too long ago).
My issue started at work when my battery died really fast in the middle of the day after being fully charged. The phone got hot and I just pulled the battery to stop it. Then I came home and am having this exact same issues.
I've spent the last few hours working on resolving this without success. Hopefully someone out there knows how to resolve this issue.
Edit: I am on Rogue recovery 1.10 (cmw v 5.6.2.7) and on Blazer ROM [11/26/11] [v1.2]
Might be the rom since we are both on Blazer...Im gonna try another. Hmm we are on the same recovery too!
Thanks!
Why not flash back to stock and start over?

FIXED!!
I've got it working finally. For me, I just had to check Go Launcher as my default launcher. Now when I reboot, it loads up just fine. I guess it was hanging when it tried to open up the pop-up where you select your launcher if you have more than one and don't have one set as default. So, to the few people affected by this, set your favorite launcher as default and give it a try. Thank you to everyone for all of the suggestions.

Yes this has been an ongoing issue and posted in a few places. Also remember that when Go Launcher updates this may happen to you again. You can always use adb and push a launcher over to your phone incase you find yourself stuck like this again. Or delete launchers so there is only 1 choice
I finally got rid of this loop. I was able to flash a rom via the recovery menu in clockworkmod, since for some strange reason it won't recognize my sd card now.
Playya, so if I wanted to push a recovery on my phone (I have clockworkmod v. 4.015 installed but it won't recognize the sd card no matter what I do to it), can I do this from Root Explorer? ADB? What commands would I use? I am on Linux and am looking for a guide. Thanks.
Ok guys I am starting this thread because I cannot find an answer after searching...
Basically what my problem is right now is that upon reboot of my phone, I get to the lockscreen page and there is no slider to unlock with. Just my wallpaper and notifications bar on top. This happened to me last randomly without me doing anything major (moving apps to sd card, installing new themes, etc.). I simply clicked the screen off after a text and then couldn't unlock the screen.
I am currently running the InfectedRom on my Evo with netarchytoastmod as a kernel I forget which version. I have wiped dalvik cache and regular cache and tried a reboot. Still same problem. I wiped both caches again and reflashed the rom and still nothing. The only thing I can think of to do next is to do a full data wipe, but I'm trying to avoid that cause thats always a hassle. Any ideas out there?
Any help would be appreciated.
I'm not saying its virus' rom,but i had a few bugs trying to use that rom, after the second time flashing it,for some strange reason,my phone would'nt install it anymore,it kept giving error messages. It looks like a real good rom,so whoever got that rom installed and running, let me know your trick, lol.Other than that,i can't give you an answer for your question.Good luck.
Personally I think its the best rom i've used up till now. Looked awesome and never had a single problem with it :/ Thanks anyways!
I applied a new battery icon via the ROM toolbox, and was successful. I didn't really like it as much as I thought I might, so after that reboot, I selected another. No luck, it tries to apply the battery icons forever. I left it overnight, and it never completed, it was still trying to apply them in the morning. Rebooting from that point had no effect.
I then tried to restore my backed-up icons. Sometimes 'system ui has stopped responding', and sometimes it appears to restore the backup successfully. Still, the icons never change.
I've tried to investigate on my own, but the problem seems obscure enough, and the search terms common enough, that any search I try is flooded with hits on other topics. Does anybody a solution to this that doesn't involve a factory reset? I'd prefer not having to re-configure all my apps and settings from scratch.
Many thanks in advance - I'd appreciate any help that anybody's willing to grant.
Are you on a custom rom?
Reflash the rom.
Don't wipe anything.
You'll lose literally nothing...
And will be back on stock battery icons.
Nope. Stock android ICS, 404. I'll look into finding an image of that to flash when I get home from work.
