[Q] LiteROM 0.8.4 issues - Samsung Captivate Glide

Hi there, since I'm not obligated to post replays under development thread here's the place to do it.
I just installed newest version of LiteROM (used 0.7 previously) and I found some unpleasant behaviors.
First of all - I couldn't get wifi connection to work. Password was ok but it continuously tried to authenticate or get proper ip. Re-flashing with stock rooted rom, then gettin literom over it worked like a charm.
But, after installing newest LiteRom I'm getting message every time I reboot device: ... android.process.acore has stopped working.
Also, when trying to set lockscreen wallpaper it gets me a message: ... TwWallpaperChooser has stopped.
So, is there any proper fix to get things right or maybe I'm doing it wrong?
(I did full wipe before all installations but it does not resolve issues)

First, you might try downloading the ROM again(preferably from a pc) to see if maybe the download was bad.

Already did. Then reflash with FULL wipe - nothing. As long as sim card isn't on, there's no issue with .acore (it happens even when switching airplane mode on/off). I also tried to wipe contact and contact manager data but with no good solution.
Another thing is - I've tried IcePop rom and it worked fine. IMHO, there's something in literom that causes such bad behavior.
I would be grateful for helping me resolve that :good:

Hmmmm. The only problem when i flashed literom is if i didnt install the stock gallery then it seemed to crash the lockscreen wallpaper when trying to choose a wallpaper from settings and did not give me and option in quickpic.

[RESOLVED] Fixing 3G on Pay's Rom and all UK roms??

Okay so the other night i went and decided to flash the UK 2.2 firmware specifically 3.4.2.155 then flashed Pay's ROM and it went well. Instantly fell in love with how smooth everything ran without blurr. However.. as everyone warned I lost 3G and Wifi Calling.... and I love those things.
Did the adb push of those 3G fix files for 6.19 T-Mobile that user rob_t put together...http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=897445
However after rebooting i was simply stuck on moto logo... the wretched bootloop... and was forced to go back to US froyo...which after using Pay's rom just seemed unbearably slow...
Any reason that the 3G fix only seemed to bootloop me?
I really want Pay's ROM but I must have 3G
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=944258
try these fixes dude...
i using pays rom and 3g is normally working.

I finally got it working. These files were a big help since I didnt have to mess with adb myself.. (I suck at command script)
I am running jboogies ginger now... and its pretty awesome but no built in tether like Pay's rom....
Ill try it on for a week.
Thanks for pointing me in the right way again
If this thread is still open - can someone please help me. I am on Pays rom and used the zip patch, so I have data working. However, market works intermittently, and I get an error message with roughly half the data downloaded and have to keep pressing 'retry' to get everything loaded. Also, when downloading an app, the first time or even a few times, it downloads the data but doesn't initiate the install. After I click 'download' it goes back to the market screen (as usual), and I have to quickly open the link for the app that I'm downloading so it brings up the app homepage and then it will actually download/install.
Is this normal? I initially didn't wipe after flashing the rom per Pays instructions, and since have wiped and reinstalled the patch to see if that worked...but it hasn't and still doing the above.
Anyone have the same problem? Any fix? Thanks in advance for any help! Oh, and same for browser internet...keep getting error message. And I used the APN settings that is on wife's stock tmous defy.

I would make a new thread I think your problem is much different than mine was and I think people will overlook your question on a resolved thread

Ended up getting it resolved with that baseband changer on here (v3.1 worked as v3.0 wasn't working).
Thanks for the reply though...I kinda figured my post would be lost at sea given that the thread was in resolved status
Did you ever get it working on Pays or did you end up staying with jboogie?

CM9 Wi-Fi not working

I've just flashed the new build from 2012.06.24 of CM9. and my wi-fi is not working
when i go to wi-fi settings i see wi-fi turning on... and nothing is happens.
and there is another bug - each time that i reboot my device and unlock it a get a message: unfortunately ,Clock has stopped. but the clock is working fine
I've flashed over my GB ROM. And my radio is 3.35.20.10
I'am asking here and not on the CM9 thread because i don't have 10 posts
Thanks
I came also from Gingerbread CM7 and I had the bug with the clock too but wifi was working fine for me.
I think you have to do a clean install (wipe cache etc...) after that everything is working. Make a backup with TitaniumBackup to save your data.
EDIT: I checked the CM9 thread and somebody has the same problems as you: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1473344&page=178
Yes i've seen that but not with the same version, i flashed 24.06 and they have problems with the 20.06 version.
Did a clean install, no help
Going back to GB til I figure this out.

[Q] Constant password prompt despite flashing/resetting

Hi Guys!
Well, basically..
the problem I have is just like in the title.
My SGW I8150 keeps constantly prompting "Enter password to unlock" (phone is on, at lock screen) despite numerous hard resets,(got CWM 6 recovery) formatting, clearing cache, dalvik etc.
it all started when i set up a short password for the lock screen.. (rom was stock, rooted and cwm 6, if not 2.3.5 then 2.3.6)
googled a lot, read a lot, no avail.
later flashed ics and had a week of struggle. mainly because of battery draining fast.
AND now, since I wanted to return to stock, because I do, the reason is the same. battery lasts the longest on that stock rom. I do a lot of texting calling music, pics and occasionally internet. 2 days battery lasted.
So i downloaded bagux-project-v1.4, rom had mostly everything i needed and installed it and still the same problem. Of course the initial setup settings always were present but after i completed them and the second the phone locks, the problem still persists..
rebelrom 3.0 as well shows the same..
only cyanogenmod rom's like "ancora beta3" or ics or any other rom which doesn't have the baseband / kernel (correct me) something in common shows this problem.
Also, no "forgot password" (e-mail help) does not pop up at all. only "emergency call".
I flashed other roms; Cm7 & arco68 CM9 and some other ics roms. THIS PROBLEM DOES NOT HAPPEN ON EITHER ICS version..
I have no idea why is this happening only on the roms generally similar to stock. 2.3.5 , 2.3.6 , 2.3.7
Please try to help if You can

Try formatting the system cia CWM before flashing. See if that fixes your problem.

a lot..
I said that before.. i did factory wipe/reset ,2nd option cache as well from cwm6 as well formatted the system, cache, dalvik, sdcard, onboard storage. one by one. did factory reset by using code *2767*3855#, still password prompt. downloaded a stock rom from sammy, flashed it via odin, still password prompt exists.
In my opinion, some data (specifically that unlock thing, password prompt) is left over on some piece of memory in the phone even though wiping, flashing and clearing has happened..
Hello... Please..Could anyone help me? Show me a way to do a FULL, but I mean seriously a COMPLETE WIPE of Data from each memory part on the motherboard.. Or at least something like that ?
Like I said, this happens only When the base of the rom is gingerbread..
Custom rom's/stock based on gingerbread when installed and the lock/power button is pressed and then again to turn the screen on, right away shows the password prompt...and that's where it all ends..
I had to install ICS, which is buggy and drains battery fast and since t's a whole new base to start from, the problem with password prompt disappears..
I don't know what to do anymore.. I'm not a noob at this because I have rooted MYSELF and flashed roms and other stuff to Samsung Gio Samsung Galaxy S II and Htc Desire-Z (a7272) and now I have my wonder I8150 and this weird thing just happened..

[Q] Issues with vijendrahs's [ROM/4.1.2] [Dec 19 2012] CM10 | Jelly Bean 4.1.2 - v3.0

Yes, I know this belongs in the thread for this ROM, but I'm still trying to hit 10 posts without spamming.
Three issues with v3.0 -
1. It wiped my APNs
2. I can enter new APN info but it does not save, even after I hit "Save," so I have no no phone, sms, or data
3. The Home button doesn't work
Any suggestions for fixes, particularly for the APN issue?! Rolling back to 2.7 for now.
Same to me,but only when try to flash a new RIL,otherwise apn is set right.
Flashing new RILS (various version ) got the signal lost,i don't know why.
Sent from my MP711I using xda app-developers app
Bizarrely enough, all problems resolved
Okay, so my APNs suddenly went away in 2.7, I couldn't get the phone to re-read them, and couldn't get it to accept new entries. I confirmed that the apns-conf.xml file was present and that it contained the correct info for my provider.
What the heck, I re-flashed 3.0. Still no APNs, still no home button. So I tried changing one setting after another trying to see if it would trigger a re-read of the APN file. Switching airplane mode on and off didn't do it, but whether by coincidence or not, after locking and then unlocking the phone, suddenly I had four bars AND the home key worked.
So, if you were holding off trying 3.0, give it a shot. VJ says "let it settle" after flashing -- I guess that what he means is it just takes a good long while for the system to get everything up and running.
I had issues with that ROM starting from version 2.7, and with the AOKP as well,
after some usage, the phone will freeze and restart, after that my home button will not work, all of the system configuration would wipe out, the Google play button in the drawer will vanish and so on.....
I think it is got to do with the a2sd script, I've tried using m2sd instead and the problem hasn't happened again...
so if you are experiencing the same problem try this....
Sorry but home button work on every rom wich i used. Issue of apn happen to me when try to flash another ril, i don't know a way to fix, but is a strange situation when flash a fresh rom. Have you performed a full wipe? Or better a full format except fat32?

[Q] Q & A BrokenPop [5.0.2][official] Dialer not working ?

Merry Christmas to all!
JLM, have posted similar on your other site.
Having a problem with the BrokenPop 5.0.2 on my L900 (Sprint Note2)
I can't seem to dial out with this rom. I get popup saying 'Unfortunately, Dialer has stop"
Are others seeing this problem? Is this an rom issue or a setup issue on my end?
I don't expect a daily driver from an early alpha of this rom and do expect issues but I would hope that I can at least make phone calls, after all, the Note 2's primary function is a phone
What I have done so far.
DL and installed rom twice. Both DL check via MD5 OK
Using Philz 6.07.9 recovery
1. Backup internal sdcard to pc
2. Factory reset / Install new rom option
3. Wipe/format internal sdcard
4. Reboot recovery (selected yes to restore root notification)
5. Install rom
6. Boot rom
7. Boot into recovery
8. Flash Gapps
9. Did minor setup of things like Wifi, Google Login, Play Store, DL ES File Manager.
10. Try to make phone call using dialer (phone icon) and get 'Unfortunately, Dialer has stop"
11. DL another free dialer from Play Store.. same error message.
I'm open to suggestions on how to get this to work.
I do like what I see from my little tour around this rom, but not being able to make calls is a major issue for me even for an alpha release. For now I have fallen back to my trusty Community Rom 4.4.2 which has been rock solid for me.
Thanks
bump.... a few people have viewed this posting .. anyone else having this problem? I have since try to install once again.. had some limited success with dialer, but then problem returns. even made a nandroid of when it was working.. still my favorite early lollypop rom for the l900
I installed Broken5.0.2, ran it for 24, and found it seemed to be one of the least reliable functioning loli roms for L900. I personally am preferring the LiquidSmooth 12-23 nightly. The LS rom has overcome the wifi/screen off hotboot bug, the keyboard bug, but still needs the manual GPS fix. Right now it offers hands down the most functioning options at this particular time and the phone is semi reliable??? Lol its doesnt FC but its buggy.
My two cents ... Cheers!
I've tried LiquidSmooth 12-23 nightly also.. one thing I had issues with was I have a OTG usb drive and did not find a way to unmount it. Did you find that function anywhere in LS?.. Other issue I have is no XPOSE support right now.. and I'm not a fan of the AOSP messaging pgms. Lots of things I don't like about TW .. but they make a nice messaging pgm
I did see a semi-workaround where you click on the carrier setting and it kinda resets the capability to make calls.. kinda hokey.. but it seems to work.. Lolllypop is still very early.. and I guess these are the growing pains for being alpha testers. Hopefully over time it will get more mature. Back on 4.4.2 for now.. everything works.. the thing is huge.. over 2gb nandroids using high compression.. but hey, everything works.. Thanks for responding.
