tried this but it doesnt go past 73% now.... any other suggestions ?

This has been discussed many times before and I still don't think anyone has a fix yet......
The only definitive answer we have had is its a motherboard fault which was fixed by HTC replacing the board as the phone was still under warranty.

I'm not 100% but I think 2 years manufacturers warranty is the norm these days......
That means if its not the end users fault they should fix it free if the phone is in that timeframe but if they can find a way out they will, so don't send it back with an unlocked bootloader and rooted custom rom or they'll blame you even if that didn't cause the problem and it will cost you a small fortune.
Also bare in mind that this phones monetary value is not that much anymore so before forking out any money to fix it just ask yourself if its really worth it......

[Q][Urgent] Wildfire Died?

Well I rooted my htc wildfire and overclocked it.
Everything seemed to work fine for a few months
and then...
I got a text message, and I responded to it, but I did also see that my battery was almost empty, then after responding, I putted my phone in my pocket, Then like 15 minutes later, I looked at my phone and it didn't do anything anymore, so I thought, my battery ran out, nothing to worry about then I got home, plugged in my phone... led didn't turn on... phone didn't charge. I was like damn, maybe my battery died? So I went outside to someone who also has a Wildfire and asked if I could try his battery, We switched batteries and my phone still didn't work
Does anyone know how i can fix this? my phone doesn't respond to ANYTHING I've tried
These symptoms are a bad omen.
Does it pick anything up plugging it into a computer?

Than that would be the first wildfire thats been bricked AFAIK
Maybe it's a hardware issue, something as motherboard or CPU or maybe the connector for the lcd screen has become loose
EDIT: Did your phoneshowany sign of intability before you put it in your pocket; was it hot?

lol, how can it be bricked if I used the root for a few months and didn't change anything to it for a while?
also @lcd poster
if it was my lcd, my led should still turn on when inserting the phone to a power connection
also I do also think it is something with my mainboard/cpu, i've read on the internet that i'm not the only one with a phone that just doesn't respond to anything anymore (wildfire) even others who hadn't rooted their phone got this issue, although they have garrantuee :s
sorry for my bad english
Anyhow its great u r not bricked bt if u have damaged CPU so do u have warranty/guarantee?

Rooted and overclocked, I don't think my warranty is still valid?
Yes your warranty is void. But, if you were on a Stock / Sense based ROM, you *may* be lucky and the service guys may not notice.

But maybe they won't start repairing it and give me just a new one, (since it's more expensive to repair the phone then to give me a new one i guess) and then they'll won't notice either?
also, if I do bring back my phone and they find out about it, will they charge me for the repairing costs? even if I don't want it to be repaired if it will cost me? (I already bought an iphone now, but sometimes i just want to experiment back with my android xd)
I really can't answer that mate. Policies vary widely across stores and nations. But, don't hold your breath for a new one, I think that case is extremely unlikely. I guess your best bet is to give them the phone, and have them contact yo regarding it's situation, repairs, and costs (if any) after their preliminary inspection / assessment. Only after their assessment, you give the go ahead to repair / replace (If free ).

HTC and Apple don't roll the same way.
Apple's products aren't even worth repairing, thus they don't bother doing that.
it might be an lcd problem this thing also happened to me...
I know quite a few friends of mine who had similar issues with other HTC devices and they just went to the shop and they were given new ones in a short time. usually guys at the customer service are ignorant and don't check for anything, even if in your situation it should be impossbile to know which rom you're mounting.
my advice is go there and have a brand new wildfire, nobody will discover it's without warranty
Mabye its static?
Once my brothers netbook had a static build up causing a problem i dunno if the same rules apply but try: take out battery -> hold power on for around 30secs, If that didnt work try getting into bootloader holding vol down and power on when your phones off
Hope my ideas worked and that your wildfires better
I have same problems
When i trying root my HTC device ... there are something wrong... so it can't boot after rooting.
I think that it was bricked.
How to unbrick HTC Wildfire? Pls, help me resolv this problem

HTC Warranty Workaround ?

I read through few posts about people being able to claim their warranty even after unlocking their bootloader , now these people had almost the same problem ..there screen wouldn't display anything or their phone wouldn't boot up at all. So I guess HTC won't check for your warranty if your phone is not booting up ...they'll just check your bill and see if its under warranty and do it for free ...

Well I've seen people get away with this, but I still darent unlock/root.
Because I know what my luck is like and I would be the only one that doesn't get repaired !!
It took me 4 weeks to pluck up the courage to unlock my phone and I'm glad I did. I now have no warrenty but I do have an awesome phone.
Also I heard that if your phone is completely dead there is no way to tell if the phone is unlocked or not. So there is a reasonable chance you'll get your phone replaced.

lol sounds like a good plan, now everyone who needs repair will burn it's phone and get new replacement under warranty

Yeah I've been debating for about 3 weeks now, would you really say its worth it?
What ROM you using?
And, about the warranty, what does completely dead mean?
Not booting?
Or bricked etc?
Cheers mate.
I am using Cyanogen Domination 10. It is still work in progress but it stable enough for everyday use. I would also say if you do unlock your phone try roms other as well because they all offer something different.
Dead as in bricked, although if you follow unlock steps carefully there is little chance of bricking your phone
I unlocked my phone the day I bought it ... I'm not regretting it all but the little yellow spot in the bottom left corner is annoying sometimes ..
Sent from my HTC One X using xda app-developers app
lets just make this clear, its certainly posted here already in many many threads...
if you read the unlocking stuff properly on the htc website, it clearly says that the warranty will be invalid for anything caused by unlocking the bootloader
so if you have a blatant hardware problem, ie the wifi antenna problem, they still have to repair it foc
so basically, unless you brick your device, you still have a warranty.
they might try insisting on replacing the main board for a cost, which i've heard quite often. the wifi fix requires changing the main board anyway, so for at least that problem, they shouldn't charge to fix.
still, it does depend on the type of problem as to whether you could convince them not to change the main board..

Bricked Acer a100.

Can someone help me? I have an old, bricked Acer a100 tablet, Iconia. And I don't know how to unbrick it.
Yes, I am a noob, lol, because I really don't know what to do, and whenever I see a thread, or with instructions, I'm dumbfounded at the fact that I can't understand these tech words..
Here is just some general information I've seen people ask for:
Date of purchase: January of 2012.
ROM- I believe it was updated ICS or the one previous.. I can't remember, it was so long ago.
Before the brick, it updated something, and wouldn't turn back on at all.
I've attempted hard reboot. (power button, and reset button) still to no avail.
Please, no hate comments, I seriously need to fix this.
Thank you.

I'm not questioning your say so - I just rather not spend money again.

Yes. There's currently no way to fix it once it happens, as its out of warranty its up to you. In warranty Acer just replaces it themselves.

Too Much Headache!

Hello there,
I gave my htc one x to cousin and he was using it till its battery started giving problem. To change battery he gave it to someone who didnt even know how to open lid forget undo screw! well... that sucks i know but thats how stupid people in Afghanistan make their money, ripping others for nothing!
Well... The problem is the phone starts from bootloader only and keeps restarting. The phone charges well and then it keeps doing that it wont even shut so not sure how messed up can it be? i opened the cover to check if there is something lose but couldn't see anything so didnt go beyond taking cover part!
Now i need some help and maybe if someone else had such problem or ever countered or know how to fix this? well i hope to get this thing fixed asap.
Many thanks to all those who take time reading this and/or helping...

Can you post any pictures?
if not i suggest just replacing the old battery with a hox+ one yourself.
It's not hard there are plenty of tutorials around.

I guess there isn't much to do than try and replace the battery..
The fact that it keeps rebooting COULD mean that the battery has gone faulty, I cannot guarantee you that it will boot up.
If you have warranty with HTC you can try to send it to them

[Q] Bricked phone or Screen Problem?

Here is the problem. I install a custom rom. it's working properly. but a few days ago, it says weather widget stop working. and i uninstall it using titanium backup. but after a few days later, the screen is not turning on but it got sound from the lockscreen and opening app drawer. i tried few ways. then, it's working again. but just now, it happened again. screen off. the boot and lockscreen can be hear properly. is it the rom problem or my screen problem? if it is my screen problem, how do i claim warranty since the device already rooted. please help me. this really made me sad. :crying:
Install stock rom via odin then root it again then install traingel away to rest counter then remove root

when you reboot, can you see those white words(galaxy note 2 etc.)? if you cant see those, i am sorry, but it is going to be a screen problem.
you rooted it, but it doesnt matter because they wont be doing anything with your system. they will just change the LCD, so no need to unroot it.

nope. cant see a thing. ohh. but, if they fix the screen, they must turn it on and see wether it's working or not. i use joeldroid and when booting, after galaxy note 2 word, google logo will come up. will they notice that the device is rooted or not?
If your screen is dead, they can't check if the phone is rooted until they fix the screen
Even if they fix the screen, they will most likely be too lazy to check if its rooted.
I once completely destroyed my partitions on my old galaxy by entering a Motorola command in Terminal, + it was rooted
I got my money back

WOW. I didn't know someone can be an asshole this big.
I don't know man.....i don't think so :/
You could try removing the marker with something, and then try sending to the Store you bought it from.
The thing is, with a phone this expensive, no one will give up easily, if it was a 100-200$ phone you would get a replacement no doubt...
the sam but another problem...

What do you think. is the screen damage or is it the GPU chip?

yeah. i was totally shocked when i found that written at the battery slot. Guess i'll jus go fix the lcd only since there is sound coming when i push the power button. they said it will cost about 400$ to repair it. 200$ for the lcd and 200$ for the main board. i think they just want it to be original just as new. that's why they want to change the main board. what do you think?
