Rooting device not working - but not breaking - Galaxy Note II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi all - due to certain restrictions (volume output for example) and the joy of Paranoid Android and getting the latest version of Android quicker to my device, I decided to have a go at rooting today.
I followed Dr Ketan's step-by-step guide on this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1896696 . It seemed to have worked. I got a "PASS!" from Odin and this was my text in the "Message box":

I then went to my apps list and saw that I didn't have Super SU.. so I downloaded it and it didn't work. It said it needed root access. Obviously it didn't work. Is there something obvious I may have done wrong here? Anyone got any ideas please?

No worries- 3rd time lucky it worked. and Triangle Away = amazing. Rooted and binary counter set to "no" (0)

My phone had many issue after upgrading to 4.3 , I tried to odin M919UVUEMK2_M919TMBEMK2_TMB.zip stock to fix it , now Odin fails everytime. Tried downloading new SW in case it was corrupt and using different ports same result. It also fails at different points , sometimes it fails right away and sometimes it goes all the way to the end then fails

also said something about seandroid kernal

The issue you are having has nothing to do with KNOX.
What I would do is to uninstall all samsung drivers as
well as kies from your computer.
Then reboot the computer and install the latest Samsung usb drivers.

Did as you said uninstalled all samsung drivers including kies , reinstalled , reran odin same result

Odin will work if I do a recovery , but will not load the stock firmware to completion, just run it again and this time it went further before fail

Try using a different usb port and/or cable, that has helped me in the past with random flash failures, both through ODIN and fastboot (for nexus devices).

It was the cable , used a different samsung cable went though first time. Thanks for the input that was the nudge I needed

Need help with T999 downgrade 4.3-4.1.2

Hello,
I am trying to reflash my T999 from 4.3 to 4.1.2 with Odin version 3.09 but it is not working at all.

The downgrade always FAILS (Auth) ??? I don't know what this means....Can anyone explain???

Galaxy S4 i545 Bricked! Help a guy out?

Hey all. Recently i tried to flash stock android to my i545 and it soft bricked on me. I've tried odin numerous times, every version of it I could find, with many different mirrors on the .tar. I've also tried using .pit to no avail. My odin log is as follows for each attempt:

I've also tried kies with no luck due to it never freaking recognizing the device, and yes ive updated the drivers. Ive done all these steps with many different usb's, usb ports, computers, and versions of odin. Is there anything i can do or should i just start looking for a new phone? Help would be greatly appreciated
Make sure that you are flashing the correct Odin for the bootloader you are on download Samsung info and post baseband and bootloader and can point you in the right direction

Back to stock.

Try to go back to stock using Odin.

Flash latest firmware

I believe I just bricked my phone.

So, I am really new to this stuff. I know you're going to be like oh thats another newbie. But I really appreciate any help. I was trying to downgrade my phone (SM-N910A) software back to Kit Kat 4.4.4, and I researched some threads and watched videos. I ended up downloading ODIN 3.10 and factory firmware that this fella posted on this link (http://forum.xda-developers.com/not...ble-tested-t2915915/post56230799#post56230799) So I open odin and choose the firmware from AP section. And I get the below fail message from odin. And of course I cant boot my phone because it says "firmware upgrade encountered an issue." So i really dont know where to go now... Any help is greatly appreciated.

We're you on OC5 or higher? If so you can't downgrade from that point and it will end up in a brick, there's plenty of threads on here with the same problem the only fix is to take it to att or warranty it
