I have noticed that the controls (volume/play button) don't work on my beats headphones with my note 2. Any fix for this? Thanks!

Yeah thats true you should use an app from the google play store called Klipsch Control then its pretty simple to set it up from there.

The only in-line device on earphones that will not work with Android devices is volume up-down buttons but single button(play, pause, skip, etc..) and mic will work.
If your going to buy a higher quality set of earphones I would also recommend buying power amp and adjusting the EQ however you like it, it really makes your music better

I'm using Equalizer with Skullcandy Hesh headphones, the boost in audio is very noticible and it offers presets along with effects like bass booster and virtualizer.

Ever since android 4.2 came out poweramp hasn't worked properly on my nexus, no matter what ROM I'm using. I've always had the direct volume control option selected in the program and haven't had issues before. But on 4.2 with that enabled whenever I first open up poweramp the music plays loud but when I change the song the volume gets real low and stays that way. So I have to turn the volume real high. Problem with that is the next time I open the app and listen to music the first song is deafeningly loud and the volume goes down once I skip the track. This problem doesn't happen if I disable direct volume control in the app but when you do that the audio quality becomes terrible. Anyone have a solution?

I'm ruining Digital karma reincarnation V8 on Sprint evo 4g I rooted my Sprint evo 4g to v8. I have skull candy headphones with volume control that was working fine, then like an idiot installed the beats audio from the market and then dsp stopped working so i reflashed v8 with full wipe and dalvik and the dsp manger works but the volume controls on the headphones don't work anymore and they used to before the beats install, now there's 3 buttons on the headphones volume up and volume down and the center button, only the center button works now, how do I get full control again
Need a little more info, what music app are you rocking?

I'm actually having the same problem on the same Rom. But I'm not using beats, just DSP which is part of the Rom. I'm using Pandora.

Please and thanks

You need some sort of sound mod that supports mono. The old Voodoo sound app is an example of a sound mod that had an option for Mono output. I don't recall seeing a mono option in any sound mod that was not a root needed app since they typically need to be supported by the kernel.
If you are on 4.3 you could check if viper4android has a mono option for speakers. I think I vaguely remember saying they added it. And I don't know the status of viper4android on 4.4 except i didn't see it in the most current 'new features'.
