[Q] How do I find my CID? [SOLVED] - HTC One X

I've been looking at the JellyBean ROMs and see that they require you to have the right CID but I'm having trouble finding mine. I've tried both CID Getter from the Play Store and "getprop ro.cid" from a terminal prompt but neither show anything. The terminal entry just acts like I hit return and there isn't an entry for CID listed in the information CID Getter shows me. I'm about to restore an ICS Sense build as I'm using a CM10 nightly and see if that helps but in the meantime if anyone has another method please let me know.
I searched and the only results of note suggest CID Getter or using the terminal command which I've already tried.

In fastboot, use
Fastboot getvar all
Or
Fastboot oem readcid

That did it, thanks! Getvar showed "cidnum: None" but I know it's a branded handset. The second gave me "T-MOB005" so I'm now stuck waiting a few years to see when T-Mobile get around to releasing the update.

I think you cannot, but I just saw information over here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1967980 an update for x.xx.751.x is spotted (3.14.751.20). So just check for updates or wait a little longer.

follow these steps
Relock your bootloader using the commend 'fastboot oem lock'.
Go into fastboot mode and type 'fastboot oem rebootRUU'.
Flash the new firmware using the commend 'fastboot flash zip firmware.zip'.
On first time running the commend you will see FAILED, don't panic and just run the commend again.
Reunlock your bootloader via HTCDev.
Flash custom recovery using the commend 'fastboot flash recovery recovery.img'.
when you're done you can install a JB rom remember to flash the rom's boot.img

Are you starting the whole process over every time it fails to flash the new firmware?
i know it usually fails the first time the command 'fastboot flash zip firmware.zip' is used, try this command again straight away after it first fails without starting the whole process again and it should work

Issue getting CID

Hey, I'm trying to get CID so I can upgrade my firmware but I can't get the CID of my phone. I've tried 'fastboot getvar cid' and CID Getter but neither work. From what I understand, CID Getter is supposed to show the CID above the 'Exit' button but it doesn't. I've attacked the screen shots of what it shows. The bootloader is unlocked but not S-OFF.
fastboot oem readcid
Also, more usefully:
fastboot getvar version-main
'fastboot oem readcid' did it. Thanks!
just out of curiosity what was your cid?
HTC__621

[Q] Question regarding versions

My version under cidgetter says 3.14.401.31 while in bootloader, with the adb command says my software version is 3.14.708.28
CID: HTC__622.
Where can I find the latest JB RUU for my phone? Seems like something is screwed up with my phone, hence why I have issues with it. Dang auto JB installers.
do it with fastboot command
phone in the bootloader/fastboot usb mode
then fastboot getvar version-main
this is the real version !

HTC One X (HTC__203) cannot find suitable RUU

Every shipped Rom I downloaded prompt "Installscript has stopped working". Now I'm stuck at custom Rom and Hbot 0.94. Radio 1204.104.14.
I want to return to stock but cannot find my version of RUU. Can your guy help me out, I'm really frustrated. My Cid Number is HTC__023
http://www.androidfiles.org/ruu/?developer=Endeavor
Post the output of the following:
Code:
fastboot getvar version-main
We will find an appropriate RUU or nandroid backup for your device!

CID/MID is wrong you can clearly see that, so why ask Get S-OFF with Sunshine S-OFF $25 for it, then you can change your cid/mid as you need(Convert device to and from...)

Get SunShine s-off. It costs $25, but it's worth it. After that you can go SuperCID.
Here are the steps to go SuperCID so that you can use firmware from any carrier.
1. Have adb and fastboot set up. There are guides all over xda and google
2. Connect phone to PC and open terminal
3. Type "adb devices" to make sure phone is connected to PC
4. Type "adb reboot bootloader"
5. Once in fastboot type "fastboot devices" to make sure fastboot sees your device
6. Type "fastboot oem rebootRUU"
7. Once in black screen that says HTC you are in ruu mode
8. Type "fastboot oem writecid 11111111"
9. After a successful cid overwrite type "fastboot reboot-bootloader"
10. Profit! You are now supercid!!

No method, you just don't have to go into RUU mode for it. In fastboot/bootloader you can just use the command fastboot oem writecid 11111111
No need to mess around with RUU mode. Especially if that guy doesn't even know how to read the problem he has, it's a disaster in the making for him...

Nice to know. Thank you. This was the method I was taught though. Good to know RUU isn't necessary.
