Looking to keep stock software but flash something that allows me a custom status bar on the note 2... battery % numbers only, no icon. Centered click, change text colors but I don't want to flash an entire rom. Any ideas?

Wondering if someone can help me. I'm looking to change my battery icons. Having a hard time finding them. Can I get a path and what I should do to change them? Can I just swap them out in a file explorer?
Thanks for any help.

Ok i was able to extract the images from calks rom using apk manager but really dont know what to do from here well enough to try it. what would i need to do next to get the images in the unnamed file?
thanks
idk i extracted both and i cant seem to tell the difference however when i am using the roms i thought there was. who knows...
bump... I'd also like to know how to change my battery indicator. I want to have a numeric percentage up there. i don't want to install an app that adds a separate indicator either. My phone is rooted, and I'm hoping I can do it without installing a custom rom.
Gentlemen, all you have to do is download ROM Toolbox. Once installed, go to interface, then icon changer, there you can choose from a large variety of icons to replace the battery icon.

Awesome, thanks. I checked it out, and it gives a warning that not all the battery icons will work with all phones, due to different increments. Anyone know if the ones with 1% increments will work with the Epic 4G Touch?
It also says that I should do a nandroid backup first, so I'm gonna figure that out before I try out the icon change. The first "how to" that I read for doing a nandroid backup says that I need to install ClockworkMod Recovery, and to do that, "In ROM Manager, tap ‘Flash ClockworkMod Recovery’". I can't find any mention of ClockworkMod Recovery in ROM Manager. I'll look for an alternate way to install CM Recovery, but I thought I'd mention it in case I'm missing something in ROM Manager.
Use this to get CWM

Oooooooooooohhhhh.... just realized that the app that I keep reading as recommended to install CWM Recovery is ROM Manager and not ROM Toolbox.

if you're on stock firmware and unrooted, you can just simply do a factory reset but make sure you have back up your contacts and other data.
if you're rooted, you can use CWM to back up your current rom and flash it later if any problems occur
How did it go?

I just update KA15 ROM. Evything ok, but no have status bar and wallpaper. And missing flash on camera. Help me pls
Did you do wipe & clean dalvik cache?
It's can be simply a mistake in KA15.
systemUI or framework is guilty.
Battery Mod
Hey,
check the attachment for a zip file named KA15_Battery % mod...
Download that to your SD card...
IMPORTANT: PLACE IT IN THE ROOT FOLDER OF SD CARD AND NOT WITHIN ANY OTHER FOLDERS.
Now reboot your phone in recovery mode...
Choose "INSTALL ZIP FROM SD CARD" And select the Battery Mod zip file by navigating using VOLUME UP N DOWN keys...
After installation is complete, reboot you phone...
Now you ll find the status bar in place...
Enjoy
Did it work mate ?

I've been trying to figure out how to change the battery icon and get it to stick. I tried earlier with rom tool box and it installed it and it was there for a minute or 2 before it was replaced with the one before I don't know how that happened. Every once in a while i see the new one flash up there but that's it. How can I get the icons I install through rom toolbox to stick or how do I make a zip file able to flash them through recovery? Thanks!!
Have you tried using Morphology? Users have reported it has worked for ma7 odex roms.
Edit:
Here is the link to Morphology...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2096547
One way would be to flash "mack's updater" first. You can find a link to if in the themes section under Morphology 1.5 thread. It tweaks your system ui and gives you the center clock mod as well as a round battery with the 1% increments. Then the battery mod from rom toolbox should work. But it's not perfect, so make sure you make a back-up first. If that doesn't work you'll have to manually transfer the png files into the system ui recompile it and install it.
I used those apps too download battery changer from play store but it sucks whenever I close the app the battery changes.

Or... In the mods section, I have a writeup how you can mod your own SystemUI.apk file and add whatever icons you want AND the 1% battery display instead of the default 10% countdown.
