if you're on stock firmware and unrooted, you can just simply do a factory reset but make sure you have back up your contacts and other data.
if you're rooted, you can use CWM to back up your current rom and flash it later if any problems occur

How did it go?

Orignal Concept by: shiftedx
BUT made by : webstar1
Includes:
*Full Framework
*Launcher Pro (Themed)
*Geniewidget
*Skinned Swype QWERTY Keypad
* and more!
If you like it, please support me by donating below, ill be doing more ports and maybe even a custom rom .
Tested on a European JH1 Firmware with root
Download
Donate
EDIT: Ok so people are having problems flashing this:
The way i did it:
Downloaded Minimal Matte by webstar 1 directly to my phone
booted clockworkmod recovery and chose install zip not apply update.zip
then navigated to download/minimal matte
once its installed rebooted and voila, its worked.
im using a JH1 with root access.
make a nandroid backup before applying.
ive flashed this 5 times now and have had no problems
Just in case, THIS IS FOR ANDROID 2.1 not 2.2
EDIT: I forgot you also need a deodexed rom, here are some to flash:
Doc's RomMod
MoDaCo Custom Rom

Yup, ur free to post themed free apps (unless the developer has issues with it). But paid is always a No.
Btw:
INSTALL PROCEDURE:
just flash it with clockwork mod recovery or rename to update.zip and flash in backup mode (vol up+home+power when phone is turned off)

Black screen when rebooting. Forced to reflash in JM1new through ODIN.
What I do:
Downloaded Minimal-Matte-By_Webstar1.zip
Renamed it update.zip
Placed at the root of the SD
Launched clockwork mod from Rom manager
Apply update.zip
Reboot
Black screen! -> Reflash in JM1new + backup
What I do was the right approach? This is the first time I try to install a theme.

I know what might of happened, I have removed the bootscreen of samsung galaxy s where the S is made by tiny dots fusing. Basically if you flash this, I think it might wipe the boot screen as well so after flashing this, let the phone work for 10 minuets and the phone should definatley launch. You can get the bootscreen back by installing ryanz one click lag fix and the app had an option to restore bootscreen. Do that then uninstall app.
Try again but give phone time to work

Hi, sorry for my english i'm french
I waited for at least 30 minutes during the black screen but nothing happened. The black screen occurs after the animated galaxy S logo. The menu and return keys are lit during the black screen if I press them.
Has this worked for anyone at all

So was this theory proven correct?
I tried three times but it never worked (black screen). The last time I tried with a fresh installation: install the JM1new, root, installed rom manager, flashed clockwork mod, installed thre theme. Result still the same...
Use theme porter and see if it works
I think u must have a deodexed rom
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA App
it worked for me with clockwork recovery
here are the steps i did
1. download I9000TGYJH1
2. download root/busybox @samdroid
3. flash I9000TGYJH1 with repartition
4. apply root
5. install clockwork recovery
6. download this rom
7.flash it with clockwork recovery
so you dont need a deoxed rom...
my guess is that it needs a jh1 rom

Change battery Icon help.

Wondering if someone can help me. I'm looking to change my battery icons. Having a hard time finding them. Can I get a path and what I should do to change them? Can I just swap them out in a file explorer?
Thanks for any help.
What i am really looking to do is get calks battery percent in the unnamed rom. if anyone can help.
thanks
Sent from my SPH-D710
Ok i was able to extract the images from calks rom using apk manager but really dont know what to do from here well enough to try it. what would i need to do next to get the images in the unnamed file?
thanks
idk i extracted both and i cant seem to tell the difference however when i am using the roms i thought there was. who knows...
bump... I'd also like to know how to change my battery indicator. I want to have a numeric percentage up there. i don't want to install an app that adds a separate indicator either. My phone is rooted, and I'm hoping I can do it without installing a custom rom.
Gentlemen, all you have to do is download ROM Toolbox. Once installed, go to interface, then icon changer, there you can choose from a large variety of icons to replace the battery icon.

Awesome, thanks. I checked it out, and it gives a warning that not all the battery icons will work with all phones, due to different increments. Anyone know if the ones with 1% increments will work with the Epic 4G Touch?
It also says that I should do a nandroid backup first, so I'm gonna figure that out before I try out the icon change. The first "how to" that I read for doing a nandroid backup says that I need to install ClockworkMod Recovery, and to do that, "In ROM Manager, tap ‘Flash ClockworkMod Recovery’". I can't find any mention of ClockworkMod Recovery in ROM Manager. I'll look for an alternate way to install CM Recovery, but I thought I'd mention it in case I'm missing something in ROM Manager.
Use this to get CWM

How do I switch ROMs safely?

Hi guys,
I installed my first ROM last week, which went pretty smoothly. However I'm now keen to try out a different one.
Main thing I'm wondering: what is lost when doing this? Can I assume that my OS will completely revert to its original settings, and only data on my storage will persist? So I'll have to re-install and re-configure any apps I use, right?
Does this also apply when moving between versions of ROMs (alpha 4, 5, 6, etc)? I would assume so as technically it is a whole new ROM.
When u flash a new rom ... even if u reflash the one currently on ur phone all ur apps and settings will go back to default . Suggest u backup apps and data on titanium and then restore them aftter flashing a new rom .

[Q] problem with video chat apps

Hi,
On the i8150 (galaxy w) , I have a problem with Video chat apps.
I tried Skype, Fringe, Google+ messenger. On all of them, when the video is connected, most of the screen becomes blue and I can't see the remote video. The remote side sees well.
I was using a custom rom. So I suspected it and installed a stock rom over. I still have the same problem.
What is the issue ?
Do we have a general problem on Galaxy W which prevents usage of video chat ?
oh guys,
this phone really has no community.
I can't even get a simple reply.
let's take it step by step,
1st ur on stock rom and have wiped everythn (full wipe of data, system & cache) using cwm b4 installing it
2nd ur front cam is working fine using the stock camera app and shots from it r saved with no problem
3rd for skype (i use it mainly, never tried fringe or hangout so no idea for them) it prompts you at first use whether to allow videochat or not (u can also find it in the skype settings menu if u wanna make sure it's checked)
make sure these steps are fulfilled then tell me if ur problem persists
I am on stock rom but I didn't wipe data before installing it.
cam is working fine with stock cam app.
video chat apps work
also connection gets established.
but the screen is blue. No vide is seen.
IF you say that on stock rom you don't have this issue, I'll try to wipe data.

actually ive never had ur problem
wipe ur system and cache as well not just the data and then reinstall ur stock rom using odin (dont forget to do a nandroid backup just in case ur new stock doesnt work so u dont lose also ur data)
p.s. if re installing the stock rom works then dont restore ur backup cuz probably smthn was wrong thr
omg huge edit cuz of stupid fast reading
u cant see the other side but they see you clearly !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
i thought they couldnt c u thats y i was talking abt the cam.
if thats the problem then u shall try calling different ppl to make sure the problem is from thr side not ur phone
it is not a problem caused by remote side.
I know this because I have 2 Galaxy SIII and 2 Galaxy W.
I can make video chats between Galaxy SIII and Galaxy SIII
But when I use Galaxy W on one end, it just shows blue screen.
That also happens with 2 differen Galaxy W on each end.
So the problem seems to be with my custom rom.
I understand from your comments that if I wipe data and install stock rom, I will have working video chat on Galaxy W.
Btw, Galaxy W stock firmware is Android 2.3.6 and it does not support Google Talk Video chat. Is there a known way to enable Google Talk Video on Galaxy W ?
good luck with the wiping, hope it makes ur skype works fine
for google talk u shall try backing up ur original google talk app then installing another modded one (u can search it on xda or u can try using the stock of another phone but idk if it will work or not)
u can also try this app and tell me if it works for u : Vtok
click thanks if i help you
if u wanna use google talk video chat for 2.3.6 GB then use this http://goo.im/gapps/gapps-gb-20110828-newtalk-signed.zip
press thanks if i help you
actually the problem is not with your phone.this is the problem of latest update of skype.uninstall the latest version of skype and install previous version.u can search old version in google.

clear application data for Talk then reflash using CWM recovery
or if u know how to use root explorer (or any similer app) and copy files to ur system then u can extract the zip file then copy the talk.apk into ur system/app to replace the original app and copy the .so file into system/lib then restart ur phone

thank you for this instruction but I doubt that it will help. Because:
When I flashed through CWM, it was already copied. If it was not, I wouldn't have problem starting the talk app.
What will differ if I copy using a root explorer ?
Btw, I know how to use root explorer but my i8150 is not rooted. That's another problem. I couldn't root this ROM using the "update.zip" given in rooting instructions on the forum. Do you know another method to root ?
thx.
1st i guess u shall be rooted so u can apply the talk modification zip
2nd if ur using the update.zip from the original rooting thread then u must have stock recovery to be successfully rooted
3rd u can search the forum for an update.zip that can be applied through CWM recovery cuz i can't remeber wr its thread was

Unfortunately this file didn't root my device.
On cwm I install it from the sdcard and no error message is shown. But nothing seems to be installed. No root , no superuser app.
What else can I try ?
have you mounted the system b4 u install the zip ?
if u cant install it through CWM recovery then u have to revert to stock recovery, apply update.zip , revert bk to CWM recovery then install the talk mod

Remove theme on Jedi ROM

I am running the latest Jedi ROM and just flashed a new theme. Let's just say I hate it. How do you remove the theme? I was going to flash a new theme but every one I've looked at says not to if you are already running a non stock theme. So, all I want to know is how to remove the one I've got on.
Sent from my SCH-I605 using xda premium
Cant be done AFAIK. You should have made a nandroid backup before applying themes/mods. Good practise and you have the ability to restore your ROM to its previous state.
Now if you dont like it, you can flash any other theme over it. It will again mod the system files and idont think there will be any problem.
Edit:- Most themers do make a Universal Backup flasher or a backup of the things they mod. Which theme did you flash?
Search your Internal SD for any backup files or something similar.
Reflash the rom?
