Android 4.1.2 works very well. I installed latest cyongenmod 10 alpha 2 on my samsung wonder device. Some issues;
taking pictures constantly shifting panorama of the screen and green striped screen and having.
freezes the camera is required in some programs and still having trouble with the green screen.
google maps plug-ins, but they did not set my link. tried to establish a "not compatible with your country" I got an error like this.
fm radio feature would be nice to have but not absolutely necessary.
the camera did not have any problems with the previous version of cm10. How can I solve problems, especially with the camera?

CM10 works REALLY well considering it's only at alpha 2 release....as future releases appear, the bugs will gradually disappear. On CM9, the camera bugs weren't fixed til alpha 7 or later (but they WERE fixed). If camera is that important for your needs, I'd advise that you go back to CM9 and wait until CM10 is more "mature". As far as radio is concerned, AFAIK there is no support for it in either CM9 or CM10 ROMs..... no matter who designed/produced them. There is a thread somewhere here on XDA about an app called SPIRIT FM that some people have had success with....

Just wondering if anyone else is having issues with the newly released version of Instagram for Android? I'm running Racing's Skyrocket port of ICS, and Instagram keeps crashing. I don't know if maybe it has something to do with the auto-rotation being messed up?
I've also tried it with force gpu rendering BOTH on and off, no change. Instagram lets me take the picture, but crashes when it tries to load the picture up to edit or share.
The install pages says Instagram on any android device running 2.2 or later, and it works great on my wifes stock gingerbread T-989.
If anyone else is running an ICS rom on their T-mobile Galaxy S2, and has time to download and test out instagram would be much appreciated

Well the ICS ROMs we have are not totally stable so that may be your problem. I'm running ICS on my GNex as I type this and was using instagram about a half hour ago just fine.
Clear app cache, data or uninstall and then reinstall. If that doesn't work, I'm afraid you may have to go back to a stable gingerbread ROM.

actually from log catting the crap out of instagram it seems to be a issue with the egl drivers seem to crash when trying to utilize it
going to try my open egl drivers for samsung see if it can clear some of it up.
Why dont i include them a im still building them and b 2d works flawless 3d how ever is still slow atm like with any linux open source drivers
Instagram also doesn't work correctly on my DHD running Ice cold sandwich 7. Takes images but the upper left corner shows the upper left corner of the previous image taken. The image preview also doesn't work and is a black screen unless you look at images from the gallery before hand, then the image preview works fine.
there is a bug !
on IS on Galaxy note when u try take pic from the gallery... then after u choose one photo its sending u back to the "where to take the photo" menu

As soon as the latest firmware hit I've tried all the roms and they all would end up with a unresponsive touch screen. No matter what kernel and rom, I'd have to do a battery pull, it could be less than an hour or around two days of uptime. It was weird because you can see PGM works fine. After countless of lock ups, frustrated, I just mashed all my fingers on the screen and it came back to life.
I know a few of you in the development forum are coming up with this issue, hopefully it works for you.

Bull****... I've had the exact same problem to the T man. If its not PGM then its another app. This is NOT an issue with android itself.

Wow, way to take me as an idiot. Real friendly environment here. It's actually a documented issue and you'll see a few do have it. Some have related it to the mhz setting for screen off but that didn't fix it for everyone.

So the greatness of Android 4.0+ handling memory well with backgrounded apps is now poopoo? C'mon darkavan, I'm not even talking about lag or slowness, the lockscreen (or as in the video, I bypassed the security lock, it didn't matter either way) would not register any touches no matter how long the screen was on.
Stop using pgm!!!!!!
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2
yeah you are running way too much, these things take time to load. first step to troubleshooting is start off fresh with no apps (likely being caused by one of them) and see how it works.
and watching you in the video is a lot like how my parents react. When something stalls (click click clickity click click) well these mashing your fingers all over the screen get recorded. thus adding to the lag.
Alright, I give up. It didn't matter what rom, kernel, how many apps were installed. It's happened to me on multiple fresh installs without a ton of apps or even PGM. This has been an issue since 4.2.1 first came out. So I went on a tear going through multiple ROMs trying to nail down if that was the issue.
But whatever, I'm stupid and clearly have no clue what I'm doing.
(I'm actully not a novice [even if the video shows me acting like one] if you haven't picked up on my sarcasm. 4.1 and 4.2 we're fantastic as well as 4.2.1 other than this issue)

Have you tried a bare bones stock google image? People run in to all sorts of odd issues when mixing and matching these custom roms and kernels. I've said it before, and I'll say it again - the stock google image is the best for stability.
The reason we don't beleive you is that you are literally the FIRST one to report this issue. It's an issue with PGM, sure, but not without it. There have been odd sleep of deaths reported, but nothing like this.
If the hardware on your device is in good condition there should be no issues here.
Install the factory image from Google, do NOT install any apps for a week, then report back here with your results.

you can check, in settings->developper option enable show CPU usage. it will over lay a top like output on your screen : check the blue bar (top right corner) if it's huge you fell vivtime to the same bug mentioned in the link
The 4.1.2 version is far better than the current 4.2.1 on the gnex , dunno about other devices shipping with JB on board (Nexus4)...i had used PGM on 4.1.2 and my nexus never showed a problem except the settings for PGM would be going missing and a reboot would fix the job temporarily , currently i had noticed many flaws in the 4.2.1 version that incl.s screen off delay , RAMDISK compatibilty issues (Causing SoD's +wakelocks maybe these are from the kernel) & we have to bear these small issues till we have a newer version of android , Android slows down while it installs an app since the vanilla version itself .
and for the most stable and dependable setup try Rasbeanjelly + Lean kernel these are the closest to stock with a few tweaks & patches :good: .

No relevant facts, no concrete evidence.. pure heresay...
Stick with a stock google image for the time being. Most likely if you go with a 3rd party rom/kernel combination it'll introduce some other strange bug along the side.

Stock 4.2 is definitely more buggy than cm10 stable, cm 10.1 nightlies, and many other 4.2 ROMs. 4.2 is probably one of the buggiest releases ever. There are random reboots on several devices and many other bugs throughout the os.

Can you describe what bug is present on this focal for our gnex?
Doesn't work for me. Missing a lib file?
Is the usual that affects everyone I think. Like trying to go to panorama crashes the app, video seems to be flaky. The rest seems good for the most part.
I don't think you need any libs, I installed it myself like a normal app. I'm on paranoid android 3.69 (I think) toroplus and fancy kernel.

have you been allowed to share this? you said this wasn't yours... and it still has bugs... maybe the developers don't want to share their unfinished work...
anyway tested it... i could open it with no force close but it didn't work well it could take photos but did 3 shots at a time and run slowly when saving or using functions
wait for the final version
i'm using GNex with CM10.1 28/07 nightly

This is CyanogenMod's new camera app for CM 10.2 called Focal. It's open source so of course you aloud to share it, you can modify it or incorporate it into your own rom to. Alot of rom's use CM as a base because it's open source. Can't wait for Focal to be stable & bug free, it will be amazing
So far the bugs I've noticed are panorama FCs the app and video is very buggy like others have said. Also, when video is buggy, it makes the gallery very unstable and I've had to FC it to get it working again. Lastly, when I open Focal initially, it opens just fine, but any subsequent opening just shows a black screen unless I FC the app first and that doesn't always work. And it keeps the soft keys in landscape position. It does seem to shoot faster than the stock camera app and even the Moto X's camera app and has more options than both...just need to have all the bugs ironed out and I think it will be a very good app.
Yeah cm rocks if it's completed it will surely replace my stock camera
There is no quick access to the gallery, is there?

Wondering how this new app is working for Note 2 users. The camera is very important to me so seriously wanting to get the most out of mine and this new app from the CyanogenMod team promises a lot.
Currently, I am running CM 10.1 and the camera seems to have only one obvious problem. If I close down the camera then open it back up sometimes the screen is completely black and I have to terminate the app and reopen to regain the camera.
And also, I read that this camera had, what is for me the most important functionality of all, spot metering. I don't see it anywhere I the various menus. Has anyone else found it?
Please report back how this camera is doing on your Note 2.
Edit: Focal app is no longer working on my Note 2. FC then will not restart. Stock camera will also not start while Focal is FCing. Stock remains broken after Focal is uninstalled. Running CM 10.1 July 24 2013 Nightly t0ltetmo

When the problem first started I was running CyanogenMod 11 nightly. It ran sporadically and I replaced the battery, which fixed all of the problems I was experiencing except for the camera crash. I tried out SlimRom and then back to CM but it doesn't seem to work on any ROMs. I also tried disabling the built in camera and using the Google camera, and vice versa.
There are two error it gives:
Camera Error!
Cannot connect to camera.
And:
Unfortunately, camera has stopped.
I assume that the first error is given by the application and the second error is given by android itself.
The really weird thing, is that the CamScanner app can access my camera fine without crashing.
I have just been dealing with the issue, because I have tried everything I can think of to fix it. But I would like to use my camera as I am sure anyone could understand.
If anyone could brainstorm up any ideas as to why its crashing, feel free to share.

After updating Cyanogenmod to the latest nightly, the problem persists.
For anyone who has the same problem, I did deep digging on the web and found some flashable zips marketing themselves as camera fixes, but all of then failed.
I did however come up with a work around that I am perfectly comfortable with keeping permanently. I installed the ex-cyanogenmod camera -- Focal.
Focal is on the Google play store and hasn't crashed for me once yet. Why get rid of something that ain't broke, Cyanogenmod?

I found at least 4 different ones for the Galaxy S3 but all of them failed. I'll have look into the SlimRom one though because I don't think that was one of the ones I tried.
