Does this seem like a simple mistake from when my phone was produced from the factory in China or Korea, where ever our phones where made. Or does it sound like an employee from T Mobile did, for whatever reason.
So I purchased my Note 2 from T Mobile last Friday. While loving the phone for the first couple days. I finnaly pulled my S pen out for the second or third time. And ever since I put it back inin, I noticed a simple tap on the back of phone. The S pen would just fall out. One time it even went in sideways, so turned 90 degrees then it should be. And had a tough time getting out.
When getting the box ready to exchange for new at T mobile. I looked at the s pen on the box, then looked at mine. And its not even the same S pen. I'm guessing the one I had was from the Note 1.
I just found this really odd. And there's no way mine got swapped with one from note 1, cause I don't even no anyone who owns the first note. Actually I've never even seen one. And no one I no has the note 2 either. And I haven't had anyway touch or hold my phone. Especially with all these posts of everyone cracking there screen lol.
So I don't no what to think about this. Just think its really weired. Has this happen to anyone else?

The Note 1's S-pen is round. Unlike the N2's pen which has a 'flat' side to it.
Pics would help a lot here OP. Because right now you sound like a crazy person. Just take a pic of the pen. Upload to imgur or upload it on here.

Actually I did wait days before using the s pen. I didn't buy the note for that. I bought it for the multi screen. Which is why I rooted day 1 and after playing with all the settings I got to the s pen last.
The only reason I new it was the wrong s pen. Is because the logo was on the side but on the box its not.
I already exchanged for a new one. But my new s pen can only be inserted one way. The other one could twist around while 3/4 in

I have no idea whether or not Samsung makes two different models of the s-pen. It seems unlikely that they would, given that the phone has only been out since the last of September/first of October. The only logical reason that I can think of for them to redesign something that they'd already gone to market with would be if there were something functionally wrong with the original device. Nowhere online do I see any indication that they've made such a change. I got my GN2 on October 29th, which would be several weeks before your stated purchase date (according to your initial post, you purchased yours on "last Friday" and that post is dated November 30, so that would put your purchase date on November 23), and my pen design matches those in all of the ads and all of the photos I've been able to locate online (for a few examples, look here). However, with that said, I suppose that it is possible that Samsung has redesigned the s-pen and is now including a different pen with their phones.
As an aside, you might want to begin proofreading your posts for spelling, punctuation, and grammatical errors before posting. Well written messages lend credence to your posts, whereas poorly written messages can call the veracity of your message into question.
Good luck with your new GN2 and s-pen. It's a great device and I'm enjoying mine more and more as time goes by and as I learn more about it. As a matter of fact, I ran across an article this morning that taught me even more about this great phone. It's a couple of months old, but there is still meat there for the taking. I never said they came out with a new s pen for note II. I just posted when I bought my note II, it came with the first notes s pen. Anyways I exchanged it awhile ago. All is fine now. My s pen fits perfectly in now. And for sure is not the same s pen then I had before.
But thanks for the link will check it out now

Thinking of getting a Note 2 here in Dubai, just a quick question for people who have a Note 2 or Note 1.. do you get used to the huge size? How long did it take you to stop thinking "damn, that phone is big!" I've played around with the Note 2 and love the screen but have trouble imagining myself using it everyday, but I'm hoping it could grow on me (pun intended)
I'm coming from the Galaxy Nexus if that helps, anyone else made the same transition?
I used Galaxy S1>Galaxy S2>Galaxy s3 and Now Note 2. 5.5 is not a very huge design. Honestly it fits perfectly in my hand and pocket just like Galaxy s3. I can easily operate it with my 1 hand too and my hands are NORMAL. Even if you have small hands or small pockets, you will get used to it within a couple of days. Grab it man , its just Awesomeeee
Have come from a G2, which is way smaller but haven't found it too hard to switch. Have to use two hands for browsing and stuff but it's worth it for the media experience.
If you use your phone mainly as a phone, the Note isn't for you. If you use it more for Internet and media, go for it. You won't regret.

I too am coming from a GNexus and the GN2, to me, feels better in my hand. This is gonna sound funny but I used the GNexus for about a year and it progressively felt like it was too small. haha! I prefer texting and writing emails with both hands so the GN2 obviously gives me more real estate to make that more comfortable for me.
The problem I have now is deciding what I want to read my books and Flipboard articles with...my N7 or my GN2...
Damn I hate you guys! You just made me order a Note 2 32GB which is arriving tonight Now I have to get my SIM cut quickly!
EDIT: Spoke too soon.. they're "out of stock" on the 32GB, got the 16GB instead+ 64GB MicroSD
It is more of a question of 'how did i ever use something so small?' when you pick up your old phone after using the note for a week.

This!
coming from iPhone 4 it took me all of 1 day.. actually more like 8 hrs or so to start wondering why other phones are so small...
it really surprised me a ton as I was dead set on getting the 2gb s3 lte but changed to note 2 at last second at the store counter ... I was pretty much sure I won't get used to the huge size but subtle changes in dimension from note 1 to 2 made a world's difference in handling...

When I was using my GNexus for months people were asking how I could possibly like using a phone so huge. Most of them are iPhone users minus a few that have seen the light that is Android. I seriously don't know how people can be very productive with anything smaller than 4.7" screen. Blows my mind now

Not long at all. I always wanted a bigger phone, and most importantly - I realized right away that I shouldn't bother trying to use it one handed.

Too big? Nope nope nope. Got used to it immediately, mainly because it looked soooo much bigger in all the videos i watched.
Once i actually saw the box it came in i was like, wow! Thats perfect. So watch all the videos you can BEFORE and it won't seem too big at all...problem solved : )
I love this phone sooooooo much, it has inspired me to invent a new word: This phone is, "unputdownable.".. get Webster's on the line...lol
Not big. At all.
GNexus feels now like smth way to small.
Only one thing that annoys me, that battery cover is kinda slippery.
I had no idea how used to the big screen of the Note 2 I had become. I bought my wife the Galaxy S3 for Christmas and was amazed how tiny a 4.8" screen now looks after using the N2 for a month. I can't even imagine using that phone now, much less a miniature IPhone 5. Strange how the mind works.

Definitely agree with this. Went to do something with my old iphone the other day and felt like I was using some strange ancient device. Or maybe more akin to a child's plaything

Because staying small isn't practical for a lot of people, me included. When the iPhone first came out, it was the first mainstream device of its kind, and technology didn't support anything bigger. As time has gone on and technology has grown, we're making larger screens feasible. A big complaint of mine for a long time, was how small various device screens were. But, again, anything larger wasn't practical so you accepted it. I would never want to go back to 3.5" - 4.3". I would cry a million tears if that became the norm. I need the screen real estate for all the games, internet, and video I do on my phone.
This phone ruined every other phone out there for me lol
I went to an ATT store the other day and i couldnt believe how tiny every other phone is.
I agree with everyone. My old phone is a HTC HD2 and when I pick it up to look at it, it looks so tiny. I love the Note 2. I think people who bypass the Note because they see it and are like "that's way to big for a phone" just need to spend a few days or a week with it and I bet they won't go to back to a smaller phone. Also agree with the tv comment. I had a 32" and thought it was perfect size. Then I was looking for a new tv and thought I would get a little bit bigger tv. Was looking at the 52" tv thinking that is way to big. Guess what? Looks completely normal. And when I go to someone's house and am watching something their tv seems so small, even if its in the 40" range. Weird how our mind can change your way thinking and make you into a hypocrite. Ex. Me saying I would never own or want a phone that big as I type this from a phone this big lol.
I think in the near future you will see people with a 7" phone. Don't know if it would go past that but who knows.
My entire gs2 is smaller than the screen alone on this thing. Awesome.
-Easier than it sounds, harder than it looks.-

Is it really that good? I keep hearing good things about it. But then I heard lots of good things about SGSII. Then I found out about the fluttering phantom key presses, the cheap- plastic back cover, the poor support by developers. For a "super phone" I'm really pretty jaded with this phone. Cheap plastic cover still there, but if you have a case, you can't tell. Dev support is awesome for the device, the dev teams are actually very prompt in helping and replying. People use my note 2 and fall in love with it. The screen size is great for watching videos and editing word documents. It feels good in the hands contrary to what people may think. Web surfing and researching stuff online is easier with no need to zoom in. Everyone who owns one or used one has different opinions on y they like it, but they all love em

No phantom key presses on the N2, but as mentioned earlier..the plastic cover is still there. I'm running MIUI on my N2 right now and it truly kills anything you throw at it. Just a great overall solid phone.
I converted 4 people and they love it btw 2 were iphone lovers
I converted 2 of my partners. 1 got his on Tuesday. The other one is waiting for his tax check and he'll be getting 2 for him and his ol lady. They both had Droid Razrs. My third partner is an Apple fan. He didn't want to look at it. Maybe afraid that it might convert him. Lol
So far I've converted 6 people, 2 from blackberry, 3 from iPhone and 1 from whatever Nokia was using back in the day. I also helped a couple people make their choice when they went to a smartphone for the first time.
I found older folks really like the note 2 for the screen size and the keyboard size.

Then they complain about how android doesnt have apps, then i show em every damn app they have, and how good the devs made em to fit our screens. 3. My other cousin. He had a Samsung infuse 3g. Said the note 2 was too big. One day after a trip to the mall I got something to eat. When I met back up with him an hour later he had the note 2
4. My girlfriends step-mother. She too said it was too big and that she didn't like it. Lo and behold she ended up with a note 2 about 2 weeks later. I asked her why and she said she could see better on a large screen.
What I get from a lot of this is that even though people say they don't want it, deep down they are jealous inside lol

I got that same response from some of my hardcore iphone co-workers. Their iphone was like the savior of the masses... that is, until I showed them how i can have text and browse while watching videos at the same time. That's when I see their jaws drop to the ground.
The other thing that gets ooohs and aaahs is when they stop by my cube and question my nfc tag that I have by the entrance - and I tell them that with a swipe of my phone I can set up all my preferences without fiddling with the settings.
Pic of what it feels like holding those itty bitty phones. I also got a co worker who gave me the it looks your "holding a phone book to your face"..two weeks later she has a note 2. Lol.
Ps I dont see too many note 2 in the wild which I kind of like. ..makes it more a "unique club" but we'll see how long that lasts. Do any of you peps see alot of note 2's around?

Haha I always make fun of my friend (actually everybody) for having a iPhone, I'm trying to convert her.. She actually caught me using her iPhone the other day and snapped a picture of me and put it on Facebook letting everyone know how much I love apple lol.. *****
I didn't have a chance to reply to this thread thats why I wanted to continue it. I have been playing with a demo of this device for about two weeks now. Its not for t-mobile but for another carrier (not international). Please take a look at the screen shot you guys were asking for. The home button is a finger print scanner and has the USB3 port.
Wait really? A fingerprint scanner!?!? Thanks for the pic btw!!

No body is forcing you to believe anything. The housing of the device Im using is not the final product so even if I uploaded a pic of the device you still wouldn't believe is the Note3.
I wish they hadn't closed the other thread started by Admiral Sir Manley Power. He has a pretty good rep in the Note 2 forums and I give him the benefit of the doubt. Besides, it's been know that Samsung has shipped units of the Note 3 to carriers for testing. From what I've read, they shipped 3 or 4 different versions so the final product hasn't been decided yet.
Also forgot to mention, the speaker is now on the bottom, between the pen hole and the usb port!!!!!! Very excited about that!!

I'm sure we all love to see pics of the physical device itself!

It doesn't matter; please upload a picture with your username written on a paper by the device. This is standard procedure for proving you have/own a device.

BTW if all of this true, including what the OP said in other thread...it will be the phone to have for quite a while.

My job will be compromised if I do that. Please understand that I signed a confidentiality letter from samsung. Believe me when I say that the housing is not the final product, so posting a picture is pretty much worthless.

Do you own a Note 2? The Note2 has the speaker on the back, not the bottom.
Im assuming the final product is going to look like a big GS4. Since the Mega already looks like that, I really thing the Note3 is going to follow that look.

Can you list specs of hardware and software... N2 vs. N3(the prototypes that you have)?
In the past thread you guys asked for a screen shot of the app provided. I took the screen shot and posted it, but now thats not good enough. I don't need to proof nothing to no one. If you guys want to believe that the release of the Note 3 is near fine, if not, then fine with me as well. As for me, this thread can be closed as well. I don't even know why I tried.

Mr. Moderator - PLEASE DON'T CLOSE THIS THREAD. I'm interested in hearing whatever I can about the Note 3 that isn't conjecture. If some can't understand why pictures can't be posted then **** them. I'll take what ever cab be provided.

I wanted the screenshot and its enough for me. I believe this guy 100%. Specs and the fact that it identifies the device in the app is genuine. No he should not compromise his job for a stupid pic.
I have the iphone 5 ios 7. And carry around and people dont believe me when i tell it is the actual ios 7. They ask all these questions with tangible evidence in my hand and they still wont believe me. All you need is evidence mate. If you have evidence and they still wont bite... then they are ignorant

This, a million times. A mod should just lock the thread because:
- OP is breaking his NDA (Non-disclosure agreement) ---> Legal issues
- It could or could not be fake; we have no way or proving either
- It's just going to start a war between people who believe and those who don't
Seriously, just wait for the damn thing to come out. When I worked for Sprint and Verizon, we'd have reps from every manufacturer come in to show us upcoming devices. I once asked an HTC rep if they (the company itself) were behind the numerous and convenient leaks out on the internet, and the guy said "Yes, some of them."
This thing is going to leak one way or another. So just lock the thread.
As this is not a Note II it can be discussed in the other device sticky
Although I do not see the point
Stating you have something that you cannot prove or show or talk too much about is taunting not development
It would be different if there was a near release date but there are no release dates as of yet.
So, a, 'friend' appears to have taken my S-Pen as it was in my Note when I left it at his house, but was not in the Note when I picked it up a week later. I recall he mentioned losing his a while a go but I'm now being told that never happened...
Does the Note store the serial number of the S-Pen used with the device? I have no pictures of my one, nor did I ever keep a record of the number etched into the side, so am hoping one of you clever folk could point me in the right direction to get my pen back, as when I say I remember it was definitley with my device he gets all shouty, just like a thieving sh*tbag would...
Any help is much appreciated.

I have 2 Note 10.1 (2014 Editions) . . .Mine and my wifes. When I purchased them I also purchased two extra S-Pens as I thought they could get lost easy. Sorry to say ,all 4 have the same number on them.

Thanks for the info buddy :good:
Thought they might have a standard product code, but was hoping more along the lines of within the system logs if the devices have any coded id that the Note sees/stores anywhere? Or if you remove the button cover to access the pots... I'm going to have to just smash his Note to bits so he can't use my pen, I doubt he bought it anyway, why do people steal **** man, what scummy creatures humans can be
