EFS backup question using the Toolkit - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy Note II

OK, I want to backup my EFS before I start messing with my phone too much.
I am stock rooted. Only thing I have done is add CWM recovery and rooted.
When I get to the option to back up EFS, it asks me the following:
"Are you using a Custom Rom with insecure boot image or an insecure boot image flashed via odin or recovery?"
I don't know if to reply yes or no. I did use Odin and the file cwm6-recovery-n7100-121014.tar to root. Then flashed CWM-SuperSU-v0.96.zip
Also a separate question. I want to flash TWRP and get rid of CWM recovery. Is there anyway to do that? Thanks.
Side note: I posted this in the toolkit thread but haven't heard from anyone. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I use this simple backup EFS http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1922473 . Never pop up such thing like you said.
If want go back to stock recovery simple run CF-root or flash stock rom again will put you back stock recovery.

[Q] Recovery?

I have a question about how the recovery works. So I am a bit new to this, but does anyone know how the recovery mode works on the T989. So I understand that there is a Download mode and one can use this to flash just about anything such as a kernel or an entire rom. Now what I am confused about is CWM when one installs this using this method : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1639673 does it overwrite the built in revovery (I actually am not sure if there is a built in recovery menu, I was looking at the ATT captivate and there is an e2/e3 recovery menu where one can flash things similary to CWM). And if it does overwrite this revocery menu is there a way to get it back? Also one more question, with odin are we able to flash CWM at all?
Thanks

Download mode is the mode you need to be in to use odin ans yes flashing CWM via odin overwrites the stock recovery allowing you to root. I would follow this guide...
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1311194
Odin is a program you will need to flash your CWM recovery...and you can use Odin to revert to complete stock if needed so yes you can restore stock recovery.
Hope I helped

Firstly, what's going wrong with the TWRP process? If you're getting a "status 7", and you flashed TWRP using Goomanager, you have a d2can TWRP image instead of a d2att TWRP image, which is causing the problem; go here for the d2att image and instructions for its use.
If you still want to go back to CWM after that, just flash a CWM image in the normal fashion; it will overwrite whatever recovery image you currently are using (TWRP in this case).

[Q] Flashing / rooting custom rom troubleshooting

Hi everyone,
I had just rooted my stock i747 (Telus) now, and it was all going well until I couldn't boot into CWM. I read this thread (scroll down to bottom where it talks about "What to do if Phone Boots into Stock Recovery (Android Recovery) instead of CWM"): androidtelegraph.com/guide-install-clockworkmod-cwm-recovery-on-samsung-galaxy-s3-gt-i9300/
In short, I had deleted the two files: "recovery-from-boot.p.", and "install-recovery.sh" in attempt to solve my issue to boot into CWM. Once in CWM, I followed this guide to install a stable CyanogenMod ROM: galaxys3root.com/galaxy-s3-roms/how-to-install-custom-rom-on-rooted-galaxy-s3/
This is where the trouble begins. First, when I attempted to wipe data/factory reset, there was an error. If I recall, it was an error dealing with the mounting of something (probably the stock ROM). Nevertheless, it continued to wipe the data. Next, when I browsed to find the ROM inside the directory and pressed Yes to start installing the ROM, this is where I could not continue. It gave me an error and I do not know how to fix it. I was wondering if it would have to do with the fact that I deleted "recovery-from-boot.p." and "install-recovery.sh" previously.
What went wrong? What do I do? Any feedback would be appreciated! Thanks in advance.
If you can boot into your phone then just use ROM manager to flash CWM again. You also use ADB.
Your other option is to go into Download Mode and use ODIN to install TWRP.

Do the 2 files I deleted affect the flashing of any ROM? If so, how do I get those 2 files back? What is the point of flashing CWM again?? Sorry as I am totally new to all of this!

Basically I would do what the guy told you above. I would also download the ROM you want to flash again and try again without modifying anything. You shouldn't have to modify anything unless the Dev told you otherwise.

[Q]How to restore STOCK recovery?

How to go back from CWM to stock recovery?
Is there any CWM flashable stuff which reverts the original recovery?

When flashed back to the original stock rom through odin, you get prompted in CWM (once you load it) that when upon leaving, stock recovery will be present. You can either leave cwm with YES to accept or NO to decline and continue rebooting. Note that if pressed NO cwm would be still there. Next time you launch CWM you'll get the same question when trying to quit.
As far as i know flashing back to stock is the only way to get back to stock recovery.
Hope i could be of assistance.

URGENT!

Hey guys I was recently trying to flash back to stock so that i could carrier unlock my device, but when I was trying to flash using cwm, I kept getting status 7 error, so I read up on that and learned that cwm doesn't like certain roms.
After reading that, I used twrp, which allowed the rom to flash.
Now's where it gets bad..
the rom was booting fine, until i realized it was stuck at the boot animation for about 10 minutes.
I went back to the thread and asked how long it should take on first boot, they said 4 mintues...
I can't get back into recovery mode.. (actually i could never get into recovery mode using hardware bottons, i had to use apps such as ROM Manager)
I'm trying to use odin to flash recovery img, but no dice..
Can someone please tell me what I should do?
You can't go back to stock through recovery. You have to flash the stock image through Odin.

It was a custom touchwiz rom. I thought that was possible.
Could I flash stock through odin in my current situation?
Fash the latest frimware using Odin
Can you get your phone into Download mode? Power whitle holding volume down, if you can then flash CWMR using odin
Download CWMR touch or non touch from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2405433
Doing this help me skip some odin errors from previous failed attempts to flash stock frimwares (I don't know if you're having the same problem)
If you successfully flash CWMrecovery, you should be able to flash official 4.3 firmware(T-Mobile) and put your phone back to stock.
create an account with sam mobile for faster download this download can take 1-4 hours SamMobile was like 20 minutes for me, this is the link for the latest frimware for
(T-mobile SGH-M919 !!! ONLY !!! ) http://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/3/?download=22280
If you can get your phone back to stock this is my advice to you: root your phone right-away so you can reset your flash counter using triangle away.
I suggest the following rooting method is safe, it worked for me and did not affect my flash counter
Safe root --> http://www.w0lfdroid.com/2013/12/Safe-Root-Android-4.3-Galaxy-S3-S4-Note-No-Warranty-Void.html
use triangle away to reset your flash counter to Zero

Good Luck

Did oyu make a nandroid backup of your stock rom before flashing a custom one?
If so, just restore it.
If not, use Odin.
