All the roms appear to have touchwiz, which i hate, are there any stock roms out there with touchwiz removed?
Touchwiz, like sense is not just the launcher but a part of the framework. If you remove touchwiz then it is no longer stock. There are a few roms that include Aroma which give you the option to not include the launcher on install and instead include another option of your choice. I believe Note Cards has it and probably others as well. You could also just install another launcher from the market and set it as default. There is a cm work in progress but I'm sure it will take away from the s-pen user experience to an extent.

If you haven't before try miui

Use apex launcher
Sent via TCP/IP
thanks but i don't like the ios style, too. And i don't want to use any third party launcher for this :-/
it would be great to have a mod for all aosp roms.
but i think i still have to.use apex :-/
You could try GMD gesturecontrol
Gives system wide gestures

Is there any way i get touchwiz features (smart stay, swipe down to view notifications in full screen apps, etc.) in a non-touchwiz ROM like aokp or cm10?
It would have to be incorporated into the rom. The most helpful thing I can say is to just poke around in the dev forums and see what you can find, its just a matter of finding one that has this
And if you want those features, why dont you just flash a TW rom? I mean the extra things apart from those features that comes with TW wont make a significant difference than if you had put those features on an AOSP rom

Good point. I have been hearing good things about FreeGS3 lately
Yup, I've heard/read that its a good rom with lots of customization options
TPR is good too apparently

I've only seen TouchWiz ROMs that use a different launcher that way you don't have the look of TouchWiz but you still have all the TouchWiz with menus and settings. There are a couple out there that use the apex launcher or you could just use a stock rom and download the apex launcher from the play store.

Had anybody encountered a flashable zip of a touchwiz launcher for use on 4.2.2 aosp? I've searched everywhere and it doesn't look like it's been made yet. Anybody have a link?

That's because it doesn't exist.
And why would you want it? There are not super special features of the touchwiz launcher. It's a pretty bare bones launcher. All teh features of the stock phone are built into the rom, not the launcher.

Because I like it. Same reason you want to use whatever launcher you use. I like the weather widget too, don't like any other ones as they just look like cheap imitations. I had one on the s3 but I guess nobody's made one for the s4 yet.

The widget adds ons aren't part of launcher. And those are even less likely to be ported.
What Im saying about other launchers is that TW is kind of basic so you could take a nova or apex and customize it to look just like a TW launcher.
But the widgets arent going to be available outside of touchwiz.
Sent from my SGH-M919 using xda app-developers app
Yes it is possible, because I had the S4 launcher AND weather widget on my S3 running liquid smooth. It's just a matter of time before somebody makes one. I personally don't like any other launcher because they don't have that subtle smoothness that the TW launcher has no matter what you customize on them.
Also, nova and other launchers don't have the same transitions as TW.

It's A LOT easier if you just take any ROM that you like and just put a theme over it.
Like for example I am currently running patwip's Unofficial CM 10.1.3 latest release, and there are themes available like this : https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.tmobile.theme.HTC.EleganceX
21Mb download and everything, icons, status bar, colors, settings look like an HTC Sense UI
If you prefer using the stock ROM, simply download a good launcher like Go Launcher EX Prime, it supports and has 1000s of themes, several of which have Sense UI.
But this theme style will be restricted only to your app drawer and homescreen, so not as thorough as in CM.
SenseUI can be ported, but only to devices with similar hardware. You can't just port the launcher because it has many dependencies including the kernel. You pretty much have to port a whole sense ROM which would be a pain for any dev to undertake, several have tried and failed on other devices. So it's just easier to theme a launcher.
EDIT (found some more info) : Apparently, the framework for HTC is closed source which means devs can't use it and make it public fearing legal consequences.
Hope that helps answer your questions

I get that, but I like mentioned in my last post. SenseUI launcher cannot be ported because the framework is closed source and has strong dependencies on the hardware of HTC phones, so I was suggesting alternatives.
Besides, CM themeing is not restricted to just icons and looks of the launcher, depending on the theme/version the following things are themed : frameworks-res, systemui, settings, contacts, mms/sms + widget, phone, trebuchet, browser, apollo + widget, keyboard.
So it gives a pretty good feel of a ported launcher without compromising much memory or functionality.
New to Samsung , coming from LG. I have looked at a few TouchWiz roms. Didn't look like they have themes. Does stock TouchWiz based rom just not have theme engine ?

Stock Touchwiz does not have a theme engine, but you can flash one of the custom Rom's that do have it, such as LIquidRom.
Liquidsmooth v3 ? Yea I know aosps are gonna have themes but don't really like the non-stock look

Put the Galaxy launcher (Play Store) and use the theme engine for a samsung touchwiz theme on an AOSP ROM. Looks just like Touchwiz.

The reason I hope to use themes on TouchWiz is to use something other than TouchWiz like LG skin. Thanks anyways

Your best bet then is to use a 3rd party launcher like Nova and put an LG theme on it.
But with that I'll lose TouchWiz ... s pen and stuff
The 4.4.2 stock roms have a theme manager built in with the S-5 launcher. I know the eZKat-BS rom does as I am running it right now. I cant remember if eZ's eZKat has a themer in it. I honestly came across it by accident when I was playing around with random settings. It's a pretty good themer.
Ezkat probably doesn't it. I don't see it anywhere

This rom does:

The s-pen works with ALL ROMs but you have to use third party apps for notes.
