[Q] S Planner <> MS Exchange problem - Galaxy Note II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

How can I change in S Planner a calendar entry who was created in Exchange / Outlook? S-Planner show only the possibility Copy, Delete and Send. If I create the entry directly on S Planner , it is also possible to change the calendar entries.
Any idea?

I checked and I'm have the same features for events I've created in Exchange, I'm just restricted regarding other people's events.

I have also lost the ability to edit exchange 2007 calendar events after upgrading from ICS to JB (both stock rooted)
This is even tho the events are "organized" by me. As I set them up on Outlook.
EDIT: It appears S-Planner does not think it's organized by me, even tho it's under my name WTF?
How can I tell S-Planner who is "me"?

found the issue:
turns out the new S-Planner observes the default email used in Outlook to associate the "organizer".
So if you have multiple email accounts on Outlook, and the Calendar event you create is created when your default email is set to anything else other than your Exchange email, S-Planner will deem it organized by someone else.
How to fix this?

So far the only thing I can think of is using Macros to install a button, one for meeting, one for appointment, that will default the Meeting Organizer field to the Exchange Account even if the email default is set to the GMAIL account.

btw, if you have recently used added the registry code:
NewItemsUseDefaultSendingAccount = 1
Click to collapse
Source: http://www.slipstick.com/outlook/outlook-2010/multiple-accounts-and-the-default-account/
And your Default Email is set to something OTHER than your Exchange account, then your "Meeting Organizer" will be incorrect (as it will be set to another Email address) and uneditable in S-Planner.

Quest for the ultimate PIM...

There are a lot of Personal Information Managers available, and i have looked at many, but none of them fill my needs completely. Currently, I'm using many different apps to maintain my appointments, contacts and email, and still this is not perfect.
Currently, i'm using :
Improved Email (http://www.mwebster.us/) for my email needs (great subfolder support, handy overview of different exchange accounts, but no google account support);
The built In Gmail app (obvious only Gmail support)
Calendar Pad (the only calendar app which has the one-and-only useable week view (this one. All other month- and week views are totally unuseable in my opinion)
Android Agenda Widget (great customizing options, integrated view of appointments in all calendars with colour coding)
The built in appointments app when it comes to editing appointments
The built in contacts app
And still, this doesn't do it all:
- can't change exchange contacts details with the stock contacts app (only name)
- can't edit a lot of exchange appointments because they show up as meetings instead of appointments
- bugs in the built in Agenda app when opening all day & recurring events from an exchange account (events skipping a day forward, events becoming stretched over days).
My needs are:
- supporting two (or more) Exchange accounts
- support Google Calendar(s)
- widget showing apointments from all calendars in one view, showing the calendar colours
- email support for subfolders also
- contacts from Exchange and Google linked to the phones telephonebook
- full editing support of exchange items
- a week view of appointments like Calendar Pad
Touchdown brings back (bug free) editing of exchange contacts and appointments, but lacks a useable week view, and more important, only supports multiple exchange accounts by switching profiles (so agenda widgets like Pure Calendar only show appointments from one profile at a time and contacts in the phones telephonebook can only be edited if the appropiate profile is selected first in Touchdown. 2 dealbrakers IMHO). Also, searching the GAL (global adress list) on the exchange server doesn't always work.
Roadsync does support multiple exchange accounts, but only by editing the server credentials (which isn't real support imho).
So, Android is still lacking in business PIM support for me. Who knows of a PIM, which does it all?

[Q] Marking a Calendar Event as Private

Hey all,
All of my email and calendar settings are correct, and I am sync'd with the Exchange/ActiveSync for work. When trying to create a calendar invite it will show correctly in my Outlook client as well. The issue I am having is when creating a calendar invite on the phone itself - it doesn't give an option to mark it as private. After you've created the event and go to view it - it shows Privacy as "default". If you click "edit" on the event you don't seem to get the option to change it.
I know there are options for rooted phones, (I searched to the best of my ability) but wanted to see about a stock GS3 (you know how it is, work phone).
Any ideas or different calendar suggestions are more than welcome. Thank you for the help.

[Q] Default calendar for new events

Hey all,
Is there a way to set the default calendar for new events you create on your phone using the default HTC calendar app?
Back on the ICS when I created a new event I selected the right calendar while creating the event (on the top-left) and after creating one event it would remember which calendar I used and use that as the default one for new events.
Now on JB that doesn't seem to work anymore, so now I keep having to select the right calendar, which I often forget.
Also is there a way to change the color of a calendar? Now it just randomly assigns a color to all the events from a single calendar, but I would like to set it myself.
Thanks in advance.
Hey there.
I'm experiencing the same issue as I'm using the google calendar, but new events get created in the pcsync-calendar every time.
Did you find a solution yet?
[@ colors: If you're using google calendar, you can set the colors over the web at https://www.google.com/calendar ]
Greetings!

The same issue. With every new entry in calendar I always have to change the calendar from default PCSync calendar to gmail.com calendar (PCSync does not sync to google account) even if the PCSync calendar is not selected in visible calendars.
I did not find any solution yet.

The default Google Calendar app (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.calendar) remembers last calendar used.
But it's not a solution if you want to use stock HTC calendar.

Calendars mirror each other. need advice

The native calendar and one I downloaded called Calendar seem to be in sync with each other regardless of how I set them. I set the native one to my sync with gmail calendar and the new one has a folder/calendar I created. No matter which account I select, the other calendar changes to it. I can't use them as two different calendars. Hope that was clear enough! Any thoughts?

I can't help you directly but have you tried Agenda Widget Plus? It lets you choose which calendars to use (e.g. exchange or google calendars). It's not really a calendar app but has nice widget options
Android basically collapses all calendars into a single view. Depending on the app or widget, you can select which calendars to view, as well as to which calendar a new entry should be saved. The data is kept within each calendar, so if you delete one the other calendars will stay. If you use Outlook, its very much like the overlay view.
Hope that helps clear the confusion.

[Q] Displaying separate unread/new counts for different email clients

[Not sure if I should be posting this in the general Themer forum or Zooper forum. Mods, please move if in the wrong place.]
I am using Zooper which came bundled with Themer, and was editing one of the themes I downloaded when I ran into this problem. Some backround info then:
I use Gmail (personal email). Setting Themer's default mail app to "Inbox" (the google app) or "Gmail" accurately displays the unread count if I'm using #SUG# or #UEmail#
I also have Lotus Notes Traveler (work email). I am unable to set the correct variable. However, if I set the default themer email app to "Mail" (the work email client), it shows the unread count if I use #SUG# or #UEmail#. Similarly, if I define default SMS app as my work email client, and set the widget to show #SUSMS# or #USMS#, it also shows my unread work emails.
Where I run into a problem is having the widget show separate counts for personal and work emails. I thought I'd be clever and swap the themer default app to my work email, and use #UEmail# to show work email counts, and #SUG# (and all variations e.g. #SUG^all#) to show personal emails, but it seems Themer/Zooper does not differentiate between the two, and the unread counts only show work email (where work email client is set as default mail app in Themer).
Something I think might work would be to set #Upkgname# where pkgname is the package name for the work email client. Unfortunately I have no idea what the package name is. Googling around shows that it could be com.lotus.sync.traveler, but change the variable to #Ucom.lotus.sync.traveler# does not work either.
As additional info, the default variables provided are #USMS#, #UEmail#, #Upkgname#, #Ucom.whatsapp#
There should be a workaround to this but I'm just not seeing it. I understand people have had success showing email counts in different clients using a combination of Tasker and Zooper, but I'm going to use that as a last resort since I don't want to pay for something only to find out it doesn't help with my problem.
