[Q] Marking a Calendar Event as Private - Sprint Samsung Galaxy S III

Hey all,
All of my email and calendar settings are correct, and I am sync'd with the Exchange/ActiveSync for work. When trying to create a calendar invite it will show correctly in my Outlook client as well. The issue I am having is when creating a calendar invite on the phone itself - it doesn't give an option to mark it as private. After you've created the event and go to view it - it shows Privacy as "default". If you click "edit" on the event you don't seem to get the option to change it.
I know there are options for rooted phones, (I searched to the best of my ability) but wanted to see about a stock GS3 (you know how it is, work phone).
Any ideas or different calendar suggestions are more than welcome. Thank you for the help.
-Kenny

Shared Calendars

Does anyone know how to get shared calendar function working on the desire, i can see my own gmail calendar and enteries but dont have a clue how to view someone elses shared calendar. Is this possible or must you add the other users account (Something which i dont want to do).
I got this working by sharing my calendar with the other person on Google Calendar - they can then see my appointments - though we both use Jorte on our Desires.

[Q] Sense Calendar Question

Quick question... I've just switched back to Sense from CM6, and I'm wondering if I am losing my mind.
Am I right in saying that it is NOT POSSIBLE to edit calendar entries using HTC calendar? That seems unbelievable to me, but so far the only options I can see are to create an entry or delete. There is no "edit" option. I'm 99% certain that the AOSP calendar has this.
Can someone please confirm?
Thanks,
Matt_TX
EDIT: Even more bizarre... I CAN edit entries created on my Exchange Calendar, but I CANNOT edit entries created on my Google Calendars. So weird!
My edit option seems to depend on where the entry comes from. If I add something striaght to the calendar I can edit it as I please. If it's something that sync'ed from lets say Facebook then I can not edit it. My work exchange also syncs and it all depends on what the event is and if it's something I originally made or not. All in all I think it depends on the type of even it is but I will also be watching this thread to see if someone has a little more info they can chime in with.
This is really very strange...
I can add, edit and delete apppointments on my Exchange calendar - regardless of where the entry was orignally made - Phone, OWA or Outlook.
I can ONLY add or delete (NO EDIT) appointments on my Google calendar(s) - regardless of where the entry was originally made - Phone or Web.
Anyone know why this is the case? AOSP calendar works just fine... Is this a bug in Sense?

[Q] Creating Google Calendar Private Events

Hi everyone,
I've been searching for an answer to this one for a while, but no one seems to have this issue.
On may old HTC magic, when I created a calendar event I could choose "More options" and set the event to private. With the one x, this option appears to be missing and all events are created as"default".
I am using the calendar app that comes with the one x (I would prefer to keep using this app if possible, I think this is the google calendar app with a sense skin). I only sync and display google calendar, but I also have hotmail accounts setup on the phone (only sync/display mail with these).
I can create the calendar event and then go to the web version and make it private but this kind of defeats the purpose of creating the events in the phone. I need to make some events private as I have others looking at the calendar to see when I am available but I don't want them to be able to see the details.
Has anyone seen a solution to this? I was really hoping that with the150odd people that have looked at this thread that someone might know of a solution.

[Q] Default calendar for new events

Hey all,
Is there a way to set the default calendar for new events you create on your phone using the default HTC calendar app?
Back on the ICS when I created a new event I selected the right calendar while creating the event (on the top-left) and after creating one event it would remember which calendar I used and use that as the default one for new events.
Now on JB that doesn't seem to work anymore, so now I keep having to select the right calendar, which I often forget.
Also is there a way to change the color of a calendar? Now it just randomly assigns a color to all the events from a single calendar, but I would like to set it myself.
Thanks in advance.
Hey there.
I'm experiencing the same issue as I'm using the google calendar, but new events get created in the pcsync-calendar every time.
Did you find a solution yet?
[@ colors: If you're using google calendar, you can set the colors over the web at https://www.google.com/calendar ]
Greetings!

The same issue. With every new entry in calendar I always have to change the calendar from default PCSync calendar to gmail.com calendar (PCSync does not sync to google account) even if the PCSync calendar is not selected in visible calendars.
I did not find any solution yet.

The default Google Calendar app (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.google.android.calendar) remembers last calendar used.
But it's not a solution if you want to use stock HTC calendar.

[Q] S Planner <> MS Exchange problem

How can I change in S Planner a calendar entry who was created in Exchange / Outlook? S-Planner show only the possibility Copy, Delete and Send. If I create the entry directly on S Planner , it is also possible to change the calendar entries.
Any idea?
I checked and I'm have the same features for events I've created in Exchange, I'm just restricted regarding other people's events.
I have also lost the ability to edit exchange 2007 calendar events after upgrading from ICS to JB (both stock rooted)
This is even tho the events are "organized" by me. As I set them up on Outlook.
EDIT: It appears S-Planner does not think it's organized by me, even tho it's under my name WTF?
How can I tell S-Planner who is "me"?
found the issue:
turns out the new S-Planner observes the default email used in Outlook to associate the "organizer".
So if you have multiple email accounts on Outlook, and the Calendar event you create is created when your default email is set to anything else other than your Exchange email, S-Planner will deem it organized by someone else.
How to fix this?
So far the only thing I can think of is using Macros to install a button, one for meeting, one for appointment, that will default the Meeting Organizer field to the Exchange Account even if the email default is set to the GMAIL account.
http://www.slipstick.com/outlook-developer/send-using-default-or-specific-account/#2
btw, if you have recently used added the registry code:
NewItemsUseDefaultSendingAccount = 1
Click to collapse
Source: http://www.slipstick.com/outlook/outlook-2010/multiple-accounts-and-the-default-account/
And your Default Email is set to something OTHER than your Exchange account, then your "Meeting Organizer" will be incorrect (as it will be set to another Email address) and uneditable in S-Planner.
