[Q] Allshreplay does not work - Galaxy Note II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

My problem is the connection to my pc in the allshare play app on my note 2 is always grayed out, and when i press on it says;
"unable to connect to the device. Check the connection status."
The same issue whether I am using Windows 7 or 8 and I tried the following method but no use. The strange thing is when I click on nearby devices from my note, my PC appears in the list, however, it shows empty content.

Hey out there I finally got the allshare play to work after spending most of 2 days pulling my hair I called Samsung
We've got the new Samsung Galaxy S3 (SGS3) so we've tested it on 2 seperate units. Maybe it also works on other models.
I order for allshare to work proberly you need to assure that your pc or SGS3 isnt running any background internet application like downloading torrents, updating Win or other bandwith stuff..
So if you follow theese steps it should work (it worked for me and my wife)
1: Take your SGS3 and goto settings -> programmanager -> press the ALL tab
Now go in to all that have allshare in it. Like "Allshare controller", "Allshare play"... Anything with "allshare" in front press it and then press clear data and/or clear cache.
2. Take your SGS3 and goto settings -> accounts and syncronising -> press the one with your samsung account and press remove account
3. Goto "Allshareplay.com" (on your pc) and log in. Press settings (top right) -> press Registered devices (top left). Remove ALL your registrered devices. LOG OFF and LOG IN again. Goto Registered devices once more and register your pc FIRST!!!!
4. Take your SGS3 and run allshare play. Log in. Register your SGS3 and voila your allshare works :good:

What I can do to fix the problem? Thanks in advance.

If nobody is able to help me, can anybody tell me whether the app is working for them and on which platform?

Blackberry Connect WORKING on 8525 and new Official ATT WM6 ROM (uncooked)

Ok FINE! After being ignored for two days, I thought I would help the New folks out here get this working!
I got it working and all is FINE! Here is what I did. I will not post links so I do not violate any sort of TOS in this site.
After I upgraded to the new ROM from HTC's site (the official ATT ROM not anything cooked) I upgraded my Activesync to 4.5 (must have this version)
Then I downloaded BBC Desktop 4.0.0.18 (google it)
Then I downloaded BBC for the PPC 4.0.0.91 (google it)
Install the Desktop stuff first then the one on the PPC. Once installed, REMOVE THE USB.
Once it is installed on the PPC, let it is come up on it's own. If it does not reboot it, go to Start -> Setting and click on the System tab. Click the BB icon. It will ask what services, select Cal for now. Click Next through until is restarts. It will then tell you that it is ready for first use. From there, you may need to reboot your device.
You should now have the BB icon in the bottom part of the Today screen. Click it. It will take you the BB settings sections. Let it spool and get a PIN. This may take several minutes. You will then notice it connects and gets an IP. You are almost home at this point. Once it says Connected in the Status tab you are good to connect it back to the USB cord.
For BES applications, make sure the computer you use for work is connected to your MS Server or network or whatever you do to ensure you are getting emails on your work computer. This will ensure your BB Desktop software can "see" your server. Once you know you have "LAN" connection, open the BBC Desktop software and let it find your device. Click on the "Configure Device" button on the bottom center of the BBC Desktop app and VIOLA!
I hope this helps!
I am not able to find BBC Desktop 4.0.0.18 version even after googling , just to make sure is it 4.0.0.18 or 4.0.0.84. Is this desktop component mandatory , can i skip it . I am new to all this. My company gave me a number to call to activate the service . It was a sort of *56436 ;just an example. But i cant call this number as i have AT&T service , it says check the number.May be this number is callabe from a blackberry device ? Please let me know if you are aware what setup they have.
I have At&T unlimited data plan . Do i need to switch to BIS plan from them .Is 3G internet available on BIS. My company asked me to add my company email (and provided me with a temporary password) and asked me to click on activate button . does this mean they have Black berry Enterprise server ?
The BB network is available on my phone but the PIN and IP are pending. Is this due to taht i dont have BIS enabled from them?

[HELP]Tablet Talk Error 1

I just bought Tablet Talk for 2.50 and the only way it works is via WiFi. When I try to use Bluetooth, I get a connection error code 1. Please help me.

If no one knows or replies, you could try contacting the developer. They are meant to be very quick at replying.
Sorry I couldn't help you further.
(Think I explained what I meant better this time )

Make sure. Both devices have their Bluetooth turned on then open tablet talk on both devices and make sure Bluetooth connection is selected. On the phone hit the red Bluetooth button and select enable discovery, on the tablet it should ask u to setup devices and find the phone via Bluetooth
What Rom are you on? You might want to test it using a different Rom. There were a couple of times out there in which Tablet Talk doesn't work.
I am currently running CodeAndroid and both Bluetooth and Wi-Fi connections work.

I'm on the latest cm10 and I had it working the other day with blue tooth just fine but I can't get it to connect today. I was able to unchecked the option to share Internet over blue tooth before in bt settings but it won't unchecked now. The only consistent connection I have been able to maintain is off the hot spots on my galaxy nexus but it won't reconnect without me manually pushing the connect button. Has been inconsistent for sure but just attribute it to the romantic and flashing nightly.

I ran into this this weekend... I ended up UNpairing through the the bluetooth settings in the ROM itself (not the app) clearing cache / data on tablet talk on both phone and n7, then repairing through the ROM and setting up through the app. Pain in the *** and took me a few tries but now it's working great.
Unpairing and pairing again works for me.
An alternative for the app but works a different way is TabletSMS by koush. I use it more often than tablet talk https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.koushikdutta.tabletsms

I can vouch for TabletSMS. It works very well. I also have tablet talk but I use that for car connectivity by tethering it with my phone when in my car. The tether connect is flawless.
Tablet talk working fine for me.
I ran into the same issue
The only way it works for me is to press the connection button on both devices
I haven't found a way to trigger the connection from one device only (CM9 phone / stock JB tablet, bluetooth tethering on)
Email the developer, he helped me out. Awesome service.

For those having a problem with Tablet Talk relating to pairing/connecting your devices, here's a quick fix reply from the developer posted on Androidcentral.
I am the original creator and main developer of Tablet Talk. Someone emailed about this thread, which prompted me to make this account so that I can offer better support and obtain feedback.
First, mrgdr57: the app is for Android tablets and phones. Please send an email to [email protected] with the subject "Refund." Either send it from or provide the email address your order is under so that I can locate and take care of it right away!
Next, if you have not done so already, please install the update which was released very early this morning. It will help with the connection problems.
Regarding port: this setting only affects Wifi.
Wifi
If Wifi is not working, then please do the following:
Change the port to 8080 on both devices. It can be found under "Setup."
Under "Setup" on your tablet, enter your phone's IP address. Your phone's IP is displayed inside the phone app ("Phone IP: 192...."). Almost always the app finds your phone automatically; however, sometimes it is unable to. The tablet app keeps track of each network separately, so you should not have to do this every time.
Bluetooth
Sometime when Bluetooth is not working, a simple restart of either the tablet or phone fixes the problem. Once Bluetooth is setup, it should work without any problems. The previous version appeared to be having Bluetooth problems, and this morning's update (1.5.3) should help with these.
If Bluetooth has not yet worked for you, then uninstall and reinstall the app on both devices to get a fresh start.
When the app first opens, it detects whether you are using a phone or tablet. A popup appears asking you to confirm. Make sure that you confirm the correct device type. You can always change the device type in Tablet Talk's settings ("Misc" in phone, "Appearance & Behavior" in tablet). If you are texting from a Galaxy Player linked to a phone, then you will need to tell the app that the Galaxy Player is a "tablet." Also, if your phone is a Galaxy Note, the app might think it's a tablet, so be sure to identify it as a phone.
The standard solution for when Bluetooth setup is not working is to do the following:
Open Android's Bluetooth settings on both devices. If they are already paired, unpair your phone and tablet from each other.
Toggle Bluetooth off and then back on (both devices).
Pair your phone and tablet within Android's Bluetooth settings.
Phone: open Tablet Talk and press the connect button. If it asks you to enable discovery, press accept.
Tablet: open Tablet Talk and press the connect button.
Quick & Automatic Connecting
Once Tablet Talk is setup, connecting can be made much quicker and automatic for future use. Check out the Automatic Settings on both devices for the options. There is also a widget. You can tailor it to your specific needs.
Also, whenever you connect, the app will sync any newly sent or received messages on your phone from the last use.
Example configuration: When you get home from work, simply enable Wifi or Bluetooth on your phone, and then turn on your tablet. The app will take care of the rest. Automatic settings:
Tablet: auto start when app opens. Auto enable Wifi or Bluetooth.
Phone: auto start when Wifi or Bluetooth is enabled.
I will be subscribed to this thread and try to reply to new posts as often and quickly as possible. You can also email [email protected]. Feel free to send questions, feature requests, comments, etc. Feedback--good and bad--is always appreciated!

I managed to get it working by creating an ugly workaround with tasker: my tablet sends a connection request (via the autoremote plugin) to the phone who launches tablettalk (with auto-connect at startup turned on) and then the tablet launche tablettalk too with the same autoconnect option. As the two devices are trying to connect simultaneously, the connection is established correctly. That's the only way I found to get a connection (other than manually pressing 'connect' on both two devices)
contact names not consistent between phone and tablet.
This may sound strange but when I send a message on my phone and a tablet syncs, the contact name on the tablet does not match the contact name on the phone. The phone shows the name, but the tablet just shows the phone number and also when I have two people with the same last name in my contacts the phone shows the correct name but the tablet shows the other person's name, even though the phone's contact list contains completely different different information for each of the contacts

Verizon FiOS Remote App and Jellybean

I may have a way to get it running for you if you try my method below (it's super easy), just please read the whole post please...
I am curious, I know everyone seems to not be able to get the FiOS remote app running since Jellybean.
I am running ParanoidAndroid (4.1.2) and think I found a "fix" that gets it working. I am going to post what I did and would like to hear back from others who try this and let me know if it works for you.
Ok, so I installed the app just to see if it was updated, and it did it's usual freeze at the scanning window (the indicator freezes, but the pop-up on your TV does flash (may take a refresh if you get the connection failed message on the TV). Then anytime you open the app after that it just force closes unless you clear it's data or fully reinstall it.
After that I installed the Verizon My FiOS app and logged in with my user account (to at least be able to manage my DVR schedule and recordings), and got curious because they added the remote icon to the right hand side of the toolbar in that app, so I tapped it.
All of a sudden I saw the remote apps scanning routine startup and groaned but in a couple seconds it actually listed my DVRs (this is new never got to the selection before). I click my DVR and the remote fully loads and works! I was also show to click the listing in the upper right hand corner let it scan again and change to another DVR and back successfully).
Now, I can open the FiOS Remote App itself and it all of a sudden works as it should it took like 2-5 seconds to connect to the last DVR you used, and it fully works!
I am not exactly sure as to what makes the difference here because I have had both apps installed before, but since I had forgotten my user info unable to login and the remote app would ALWAYS freeze. Now that I have logged in and launched it via the My FiOS app (even after it was freezing like normal multiple times, and without clearing it's data or reinstalling it) it loads and functions as it should even if I open it directly without going through the my FiOS app first.
Again, if you have time and FiOS, please try this out and see if works fire you and please reply.
Steps
----
Install Verizon Remote App from market
Open it and follow the directions to connect to your set top box. It should freeze on scanning network for DVR, and reopening the app sheet killing it's task should result in force close or restarting the setup and scan.
Now install Verizon My FiOS app from market.
Open My FiOS and it will ask you to login, do so (even sub accounts with the TV access open enabled work).
> may make a difference I did tap the check box when I logged in for it to save my login info
select TV and DVR option from first menu and select Manage My DVR from next one. This will bring up a loading window and after a few seconds it should list your DVR.
Now tap the remote icon in the top right corner of the app window (next to where it has the name of the currently connected DVR and is a drop down to change to another DVR if you tap it)
The Remote App should now load and bring up it's scanning for DVR screen, but now it should connect and be fully functional.
You should also now be able to open the remote app directly from your app drawer and it should work as expected without going through the my FiOS app first.
I have tested controlling my DVR in both live TV and watching prerecorded shows. So far, there are no problems and everything is super smooth as far as me tapping a button and the box's reaction time.
I hope this works for everyone, it's not a deal breaker (hence using Jellybean even though this hasn't worked for me since upgrading), but is very handy for text input, or if you happen to temporarily misplace your remote

[Q] SideSync not working properly

I have installed SideSync in my Samsung Galaxy Note 2 LTE and in my Windows 7 computer but it doesn't work properly.
They connect successfully but in the PC I see a window with the proportion of the phone screen in portrait mode and then the image of the phone screen appears appears rotated 90 degrees, occupying all the width of the window in the middle and the rest is black. Also, the blue circle that you move with the mouse and represents the finger doesn't act properly, as if the coordinates were messed up.
I tried with another Note 2 (this one not LTE) with same results. I also installed the app in my Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 tablet and the same happens here. The image appears rotated and the phone can't be controlled with the tablet app.
Hi:
Did you ever figure this out. It just started happening with me as well.
Thanks.
Same here with rooted stock ROM 4.4. 2 N7100XXUFND3 on Samsung Galaxy Note 2.
SideSync 3.0 version shows 3.2.7.1215 and works via USB connection under Windows 7
me too.... was ok the last time.. really hope there is a fix for this.
same here
hi, i have the same issue. I have Windows 8.1 and two phones. Note 2 has the same issue as described by jedikalimero .
Second phone is galaxy S4 and that works just fine on the same computer (with the same cable).
I have found an article about enabling USB debugging, but that did not help.
Any fix to this yet?? funny enough I installed a custom rom on my Note 3 which was a port of a Note 4 and it finally started working but I left that ROM for another flavor and it's back to this stupid issue.. Such a shame..
Same problem here!
Did anyone find a fix for this?
Thanks!
still ni fix
for real? no fix?
what are other Mirror cast that I can Use on my PC??

You can use TeamViewer. It works great and it comes in different flavours, depending on what you want to do. There is a host app and a server app. The server app lets you control your Android/IOS/Windows Phone or tablet with your Windows/Linux/MacOS PC and the host app lets you control your Windows/Linux/MacOS PC with your Android/IOS/Windows Phone or tablet. And with the desktop app you can also control another PC.
Sometimes I have left my Windows PC turned on in London and have controlled it with my Note Pro tablet or my Note 4 phone from Tenerife, even downloading files from the PC to my phone.
I just want to see the phone screen on the PC, to play some games
team viewer I already try but there is not this option

There wasn't. It is a new feature. you have to install Teamviewer in your PC and create an account.
Then install TeamViewer Host in your Note: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.teamviewer.host.market
You have to log in in your TeamViewer account when you run it so your phone can be associated with your account and appear in the devices list of your PC TeamViewer.
The app will also ask you to install an add-on, so allow it and you are ready to go.

There is now also a TeamViewer Host app for Samsung that allows not only screen mirroring but also control from the PC (or Mac). But if you installed the original Teamviewer Host, it probably has already asked you to install this special version and remove the regular one so chances are you already know this
SideSync works but I can't control the note 2 from my PC when you click on Phone Screen, I use my mouse to swipe and try to unlock the phone and it don't work, the drop down menu works only if you click on the the button at the top in the middle ,the button thats hidden with 2 lines in it and can't click on anything, the back and menu buttons at the bottom don't work too.,any ideas..?

*SOLVED* Factory reset grayed out cannot reset

I have original sprint s20 ultra, sim unlocked, currently running stock unlocked firmware. I am STILL unable to perform factory reset due to it being grayed out. To make matters worse, my screen is not working so I'm viewing everything thru TV HDMI, but cannot see download mode screen/recovery, I do some guessing to navigate thru those.
I've tried:
- putting in another sim
- reset via recovery
- setting up phone without logging in or internet after recovery reset or flashing via Odin - still factory reset grayed
- flashing unlocked firmware (U1)
I know that it isn't FRp locked because I am able to skip thru logins and internet setting at setup after flashing firmware.
I still have no clue why the factory reset is grayed out.
*SOLVED* the phone grays out reset due to the HDMI connection. I confirmed using another samsung phone that had a good screen.
An app set as Administrator may be blocking it in security.
Package Disabler for one will do that if set to.
Possibly a rootkit.

Thanks for the suggestion. Only "find my device" from google shows up under the list device admin apps. Is there a possibility that any others may not show in that list that is causing this?
I see an app called work profile - but I do not think that is a culprit since I have the same app on my other samsung and am able to reset that phone. I also disabled the work profile app as it didn't allow me to uninstall, but the factory reset was grayed.

I figured it out! My inspiration came from a youtube video about the reset being grayed out on a samsung tv due to an app being opened.
In my case the reset was grayed out because I was viewing my phone screen on my tv via hdmi; i purchased this phone with a totally busted screen. I tested this theory with my good s21 ultra. The reset was active when not connected to HDMI, but grayed out when it was connected.

If present it should be listed there.
Is there a work around for this? I'm having the same issue. The screen is completely black. But touch still works because I can feel the vibration feedback and when plugged in to a monitor, it registers my touch. However, since I can't see anything on the screen, I can not do a factory data reset on the phone itself. Being plugged in to a monitor disables the option....
I hate this phone. (ㆆ_ㆆ)
If anyone has a work around or suggestions it would be much appreciated.
I had the same dilemma. I found a workaround using TeamViewer quick support app on the broken phone. Was easily able to remote into that broken phone from another Android phone via the regular team viewer app from the other working phone.
More details: My broken phone was one that I wanted to reset: Screen didn't display anything, touch still working. Connected to phone via USB-C USB HDMI hub so I could see my screen on a TV. Reset settings grayed out because it is connected via HDMI to the TV.
I needed a work around because every time I unplugged the HDMI using for example AirDroid, my accessibility settings got disabled within a couple of seconds, and I was no longer able to remote control my phone that I was trying to reset.
Finally, I installed TeamViewer quick support app from the Google Play store onto the broken phone. Then I installed TeamViewer regular app (pretty sure it wasn't quick support, maybe it doesn't matter which you use) on a different fully functional Android phone. I'm sure I could have installed TeamViewer on a PC instead. Anyway, I punched in the identification code of the broken phone TeamViewer quick support and remotes into and controlled the broken phone. At that point I was able to disconnect the HDMI from the broken phone and still see it and control it from the working phone! With that control, I browsed to the factory reset function in Android settings on my broken phone. And it was not greyed out / disabled anymore. I selected it. And the phone factory reset! After a few minutes when I plugged that broken phone back into the HDMI, the hello welcome language selection screen displayed. Displayed. The phone had reset! Super smooth process. Thanks to TeamViewer quick support and the USB hub.
