Has anyone gotten the GV notices to work correctly on the SIII? Can you get VM to pay in the call log?
I upgraded from the Epic 4G (CM10) to the SIII, installed GV (always used lite on the Epic) and things seemed fine. Sent my old GV# to a different gmail account and tried full GV. I started missing calls/calls wouldn't come through, no notifications, & had trouble making calls. Undid the full GV and went back to lite. Uninstalled and reinstalled the GV app. Calls seem to be coming through (I receive calls now & when I call from a different phone things seem to work) but I can't get VM playback in the call log and I don't get VM notices. Any help is appreciated.
It's a known issue. GV not communicating well with JB for some reason. Anyway, you have to go to GV site online. Read this http://forums.androidcentral.com/ht...-new-htc-one-x-today-issues-google-voice.html
It worked for me.
Good luck.

Thanks, I tried it but no luck. Phone calls work, miss call alerts works, no vm notifications, and no show in call log as the app is supposed to do.

Uninstall, reinstall Google Voice, then don't turn on the switch for integration into the call logs. I've read that it doesn't work and borks vm notifications when it's on.

I cannot make calls but I can make calls with my EVO, but I can receive them. What is going on??????????? It worked earlier today and all of the sudden it just stopped!
I am also going through the same thing. I was able to make calls earlier today but now I can't. I do receive calls. Anyone else also experiencing this. Im using the Synergy rc1 supersonic rom. What rom are you using?
Are you getting any sort of error code when you try to call?
No just no dial tone. it hangs up after 20 seconds followed by beeps.
Seems like there are maj network errors going on. I had a ton of network busy errors, trying to make calls this week, and my buddy, with Verizon has had the same problem.
I would say this is probably a service issue. I am not rooted and the same thing is happening to me. I can receive calls, but not place calls. Just started happening this evening about 6:00ish. At least that's when I noticed it.

I think you are right. The google voice - sprint integration is the problem. I disable it and now it work perfectly. Thanks!
Yeah I had the same issue today, I called sprint and they killed the Google voice on there end and problem solved.
I don't have G voice, but still had the call problems

I am having the exact same issue, and it began sometime this last evening, about 7-9 hours ago. I have had Google Voice, but after upgrading from Hero to Evo on Wednesday, Google Voice can't locate my Sprint number to integrate it on the Evo, and so I cannot disable it, either, which prevents me from working the "easy" fix by removing it.
I did have a rooted Hero when I got GV, but I've yet to root the Evo, hoping Gingerbread keeps it running okay on stock. But this issue is persisting, and it doesn't matter to me if it's GV related or not, I don't want to have to send the device back.
I did call tech support, and did soft/hard resets and they refreshed the device and tier 2 tech resent services and it seemed fixed for 5 seconds, then went right back to the "20-sec dead air before fast busy signal" issue. I even work for Sprint and am having this issue! I've never seen anything like it, and I've been in Sales Support for a good while. I'd ideally like to use GV, but if it's gonna be like this, no thanks.
Other than disabling GV (as I cannot at the moment), any other suggestions?
P.S. - Hi, new to the forums, thanks very much for any help!!

I had this exact issue and resolution. Turn off G Voice integration, call Sprint to turn it off if you need to.
One major problem I'm having on all ICS builds is the voicemail issue.. Visual voicemail always crashes and i have to dial out to retrieve my voicemails. Ive tried the clear data and force stop method but once you receive a new v mail the problem repeats itself. Has anyone found a solution? I refuse to use google voice..

Sprint VVM is borked in the ICS builds. I believe its a bug with the notifications. Uninstall it and use Youmail until its fixed. Youmail is a nice standalone alternative and easy to activate and deactivate.

Why all the hate with Google Voice? Im just curious. Its come in handy a few times.
Ok thanks Ill give youmail a try.. And i google voice is just to much for me.. It records your text messages and everything uploads all your info online.. It comes in handy but that's too much control. I don't need google knowing everything about me lol.

Can you use Youmail as a replacement for regular sprint voice mail?
I have elderly parents that if they can't reach me on my cell will leave me a vm instead of texting.
On CM9, if you push visual voicemail to system>app and set permissions, it'll stop it from crashing. The new problem is that it keeps retrying to "get your information" every time you open the app then.

I luv you Mail and swear by it...
Heres how to drop Sprint Visual and use You Mail...
Also gives you the number to connect the service...
Download the app to your phone ...
Its not too pricey either...
The Visual Voicemail is super accurate most of the time...

Why do you refuse to use Google voice? I set it up without integrating it with my sprint number and telling it not to be used for any calls. Then, I see it as the ultimate vvm because I can get messages on my tablet, desktop chrome browser, etc. If you don't let it have the additional functionality, it behaves pretty much the same as the stock vvm... Unless I'm way off base?

Okay this is weird, I had a Galaxy S2 that I must have flashed new ROMS on at least 50 times and reinstalled all my software but this is the first time I've ever left my phone stock and now Google Voice doesn't work.
I've disabled Visual Voicemail by freezing it so it's not in the picture.
Voice is installed it's all signed in, background sync is on but when a call comes in it goes to TMobile's voice mail instead. Checked settings and voicemail is set to Google Voice.
Maybe because I never stayed on stock before I'm missing something?
Perplexed,
Kevin
try uninstalling and reinstalling it, that will probably work.

Same issue here. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling voice, but still no luck. It's not a huge deal, but still kinda annoying.
Make sure your conditional call forwarding is set to forward to googles voicemail and not tmobiles. Did you just get a new sim card by any chance? The forwarding settings are stored on the sim card and I've had ROMs that simply wouldn't save the new voicemail forwarding settings... If this is the issue then go back to stock, reprogram your sim then reflash your desired ROM. Voicemail isn't handled through the "my carrier" or "Google voice" setting, its handled through conditional call forwarding.

Try deleting app from phone. Log on to Google voice on your computer. Will give u a "deactivate" code for you to disk on your phone. Then reinstall app & run setup on phone.

If you are on T-mobile prepaid plan, you do not have conditional call forwarding so you will not be able to use GV instead of T-mo's voicemail.
Problem solved. Just manually set the forwarding numbers (when busy/unreachable/unanswered) to your Google voice phone number. If ur like me and don't remember what it is just go to Google voice app settings and scroll down. Also make sure your voicemail is set to Google voice. This is all done under call settings. Ezz pzzzy

I solved the problem by calling TMO customer service and having Visual VoiceMail removed from my account. Nasty stuff, that app. It hijacked my voice mails, so that when I accessed them through normal voice mail retrieval, I never had any new messages...they were all automatically marked as "saved." :silly:
Came here after searching... Same issue. I changed conditional call forwarding and will see if that works. Silly question, no additional charges for call forwarding?

I had this same issue. It appears that Google Voice no longer sets up the call forwarding for you. I had to go into the conditional call forwarding and it worked after that. I believe they're there for unanswered, unable to reach and unavailable and they forward after that.
I had the same issue as everyone - go through the online setup from voice.google.com again and it will give you the magic # code that will update all your call forwarding and that does it for me - in addition to the settings menu that allows google voice to handle my voicemails.
Now i see voicemails in the call log and google voice is integrated there.
dont recall the hascode - but it will contian your google voice number as the end portion - this will forward all calls (from the network side) based on the status of your phone (out of range, no answer, and rejected) - you could have them each go to a different number if you really wanted to
This is my set up.
I have native phone for regular calls, and Talkatone app for WiFi calling. I also have GrooveIP, but seldom use it.
In any case, whenever I get a call on Talkatone, both it and the stock phone rings. I can answer Talkatone, but the stock phone keeps ringing, and vice-versa (answer the stock phone, but Talkatone keeps ringing. Just silencing one is no good because it still shows up on the home screen as an incoming call. And personally, I use the Wifi calling feature 90% of the time at home or when I'm near a WiFi signal.
Both have different numbers as well.
Is there anyway to have them ring independently of each other without enabling & disabling every time I go out?
Any ideas?
Probably more of a talkatone issue I'm guessing. Do you have some kind of call forwarding set up on one of the numbers.
I.never even knew this was possible, so I'm just not sure where you could start troubleshooting.

I was just hoping it was encountered by someone else that had found a solution. It is a forwarding issue, but I followed the steps sited at Talkatone website to solve it, which it didn't. I've also sent them a email, but like I said, I was just hoping someone had had it before.

Trying one more time, since sending emails to them has produced absolutely nothing.
Talkatone number should not be forwarded. On Google Voice settings/phone you should have Google Voice forward to Google Chat "only". Google Chat in turns forward the call to Talkatone. If you click forward GV to your carrier number too, yeah there's your problem.
So in a nutshell you should check only one of the box. If you have both of them check then both of them will ring.

That is the setup I have, yet it still rings both numbers.
Try unchecking the two texts box under forwarding number. Also try alternating between the two forwarding option (chat and T-Mobile). Maybe that will reset it.

I ran into an error setting up my google voice as well. When I got to the end of the setup, from what I remember, I chose to just ignore the error. I think that all the errors come up because Verizon wants you to use their paid visual voicemail service. If you ignore all the errors through the installation and get to the end, it does end up using google voice as your primary vm. At least mine did.

You sure you set it up correctly? Sometimes I notice I think I did, but it didn't stick. Settings/call/Voicemail service/
My service still said my carrier. Had to confirm twice or something like that.

If the VZW VM is still picking up unanswered calls it means you have not activated call forwarding for no answer (what sends the calls to VM). Dial *71+your GV number and hit send.
Thanks for all the suggestions... I've tried everything posted and it still doesn't go to GV. I even checked the Verizon Web site and it shows the call forwarding set to my GV number. It seems as though Verizon VM is picking up before the call forwarding to GV jumps in. Is there a way to disable Verizon VM? Thanks again for the help.

Ok, I've got a question about GV. My voicemails are going to GV, but under "call" settings it says my voicemail is still my carrier. Is it supposed to say Google?
Also, are we supposed to get some sort of notification of a new voicemail with GV? Because I don't.
Thanks
