[Q] Installed unrooted fk09 and went back to ff18 need help! - Samsung Epic 4G Touch

Yesterday I tried out the stock leak of fk09 I liked it allot but the one issue I had was i could not make phone calls. Therefore I found the below link and went back to the unrooted FF18
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1903252
Now that im on FF18 everything works fine but I have not been prompted to updated OTA to F127 Anyone know why?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
minusbfold

It can take up to 72 hours (saw this from multiple users) for the OTA to hit back on the latest. Besides, who's to say they don't have their source down for maintenance, maybe they're on holiday.. A lot of variables..
Did you happen to try Kies to update?
Why not just go here and get the latest. Your choice of rooted/unrooted as well. Won't be anything different than accepting the OTA.. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1903252
:edit: Oh, and Questions go in the Q&A Section..

Why don't you just flash the official FI27 build that's in the link you posted? Or am I missing something?

Have you watched qbking77's videos on "How to return to stock"?
No, you haven't. You still can though, and I would suggest that. They are great vids and easy to follow along to. You can pause, stop, even rewind them to keep up
All kidding aside, check them out. It will get you where you want.

You might wanna try to flash eb13 and after you use odin to flash to eb13, connect to wifi and manually update your software via ota to ec05. Go to settings and click about phone then system updates and select update android. This should get you back on ec05. I had the same problem when i wanted to go back to ec05. But i gotta say the second time i flashed ef02 all my functions that didnt work previously now work flawlessly. Although i did redownload the ef02 file again so maybe my original one was a bad download...Good luck to you...Dont forget to update us....

still didnt work...and idk if its just my epic but every rom ive tried the battery is off really bad...it would take me a half an hour just to go up 3%...also i backed up my stock 2.2.1 tw and i tried restoring it but it wouldnt restore through clockwork(i have the purple cwm)it would just stay on the samsung bootloader and vibrate constantly. I would have to use another rom just to fix it...i just want to restore it back to stock with root but i have yet to sucessfully achieve that....would appreciate that i looked at the videos but none showed how to restore back to stock

[DUMP]EK02 Update.zip - EK02 Rooted ROM, Radio, and Kernels OH MY!

HUGE thanks to kingsway8605 because without him, we would NOT have gotten this done. He spent hours getting a hold of this .zip, flashing this, odin'ing that, please appreciate what he did for us!!
Thanks to everyone else for getting the constant help - shabbypenguin, chris41g, T.C.P, graffixnyc, digits, and everyone else who helped out!!
No one but you is responsible if anything happens to your phone!
Please read everything before flashing and proceed with caution!
New build information
Android 2.3.6
EK02 Baseband/Radio
EK02 Radio
You can flash this right over your current ROM right from recovery but ONLY IF YOU ARE ON EG30 RADIO!! This is an update for that radio and that radio only! Don't be alarmed, it will take a few seconds to flash it. PLEASE KEEP IN MIND that we don't have a stock EG30 radio, only EG12 or EG31. You can flash those if you want to get off of the EK02 modem, but hopefully this radio will eliminate LoS!

Thanks, once again, to kingsway8605!!
Just a note on some of the posts I am seeing in the thread:
(1) I haven't had the update long enough to say if it fixes the LoS for everyone, but since I received it yesterday I have not received an LoS when I used to get them all the time. Your mileage may vary. The screencap below shows what you should have if you install everything correctly.
(2) I am not a dev, I am just lucky. The great devs viper mentioned in his post spent a lot of time helping me get the update off of my phone. Methods of extracting the update.zip that worked with older phones did not work with this phone, which only complicated the process.
If you cannot install it, it is not our fault. You knew the risks when hacking your phone. I only received an OTA and the great devs were able to help me extract this OTA from my phone. At this point, it appears that even when the official OTA update is pushed to your phone, that it will still fail. The moden update only works on EG30 phones, period. Unless a dev can pull some amazing hackery or Samsung gives us a full tar, you are just going to have to wait. The kernel update should work just fine. If you are not EG30, I recommend Calk's EK02 ROM in another thread.
(3) As pointed out in (2), you hack your phone at your own risk. While this is an official OTA pushed to me by Sprint, it was pushed to ME by Sprint and not you. I have a person to call if this OTA screws up my future update path, but I have no idea how this will affect your future update path. INSTALL AT YOUR OWN RISK.
(4) The update includes some very minor UI enhancements and minor bug fixes in addition to the LoS fix.
yay we did it
cant WAIT to see what comes of this. thanks!
Awesome work, everyone!! Kingsway8605, Viperboy, all the others who helped. It was cool to see it happen. Cant wait to see the results.
Nice. Thanks Kings.
Thanks king for yur hard work, I followed the whole thing in the chat and it was epic...
Great to hear. A couple of questions. Does it break root or is the update rooted? Also do we need to be on a stock rom for it to work?

You have to be stock EG30 as Chris said, but still working on it.
Flashing the modem .zip returns an error... file is 170kb? Possible upload error?

I believe you have to be stock EG30 to flash the update.zip - you should be able to flash just the modem regardless of what ROM/Modem you're currently running. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong.

Help going back to stock ff18

I used the odin OC to update to the leaked FH13 and am having all sorts of problems that I've seen others are having. what is the best way to go back to FF18 stock or rooted if I have to. Can I use another odin OC or do I need to do something else?

can I get a link since all I've seen is the rooted version?
Also, can this be done with the newer FH13? If so could I use it to back to a previous version like GB?

Several different options with the questions you're asking. Without knowing your end goal, it's a guessing game.
And I guess i should say - back up any data, files etc prior to making changes unless you don't care about losing what's on your phone. Sync your contacts, save your messages, etc, etc, etc.
You can use the rooted ff18 (reset data) and then use the autoroot package to unroot if you want to be on ICS and don't care about trace files or folders being left.
If you want to go back completely stock, no root, and clean up your storage - Use the EK02, Rest Data, One Click. Don't apply the OTA update to EL29 just yet, do a factory reset and option to format USB, restart and let the OTA process take you all the way to FF18.
Yes, either way, with one clicks, it is safe to do from FH13. Do NOT perform a factory reset until you're back on GB.
FH13
Hey,
Similar issue to OP but I'll be specific. I had FF18, not rooted, and used ODIN (for the first time I might add) to upgrade to FH13. Now I'm having issues and just want to revert to FF18. How can I accomplish this? I might add, I didn't get FF18 OTA, I went to qbking's instructions to update it manually. Easiest way to get back?
Thanks.

If you are just looking to go back quickly, and don't care if you have root or not, just use the FF18 Reset Data One Click from Sfhub. (Some say using the No Data within ICS to ICS isn't an issue, but I always reset data to avoid any issues that may arise..)
If you want to go back completely stock, no root, I'd recommend the post above yours starting back at EK02. Just the easiest in my mind, although others have different steps. Less user actions needed that way, just longer in the automatic process...

If you go back to EK02, how long does it take to get the ota's? also will you get each update, or just the FF18?
Is this any different than the FF18 OC then unrooting?

Takes me probably an hour for total reset. If I want the phone to be pure stock. I don't try to rush. Bad things happen then. And yes, its an incremental update process. Some people stop and don't chose the ff18 update and use the notification killer. (if you don't have a great connection, then this wouldn't be the ideal way.)
I would say that the one click would be the same regardless of current build. (I don't use cm builds) Its suggested to go into recovery and wipe all by some prior.
I usually pause on el29 and do a factory reset. That's just the way I do it.

FH13 Root?

I think I have the leaked version of FH13. What happened is I received the ET4G as an replacement for the EVO 3d. The day that the ET4G came in (sometime in July) I saw qbking post a thread about FH13 ICS. So I immediately followed the instruction and updated to it. The phone has been running great with no issues but now I want to root the phone but can't find any updated info on how to root FH13. Can someone please direct me or let me know if there is root for the FH13?
Thanks-

Need help Downgrading

I just recently ungraded this glide to 4.0.4 and rooted it so its bone stock other then root and removed some bloatware. I hate this 4.0.4 and would like to just go back to 2.3.6 GB. I seen a few posts about doing it with INC3PTiON but INC3PTiON_v1.zip is no were to be found. I would think there would be a more easy way to do this. I would like to take it back to STOCK STOCK, even remove root in need be. Thankx

This should be in General not Dev.
Go find any one of the CWM flashable Gingerbread Rom's that exist and get a working downloadable... Nardrom or whatever the others are (search it out in the Everything Captivate Glide thread)
Flash it, reboot
use odin to go back to stock
get stock from samfirmware.com..
smack that thanks.
So I donwloaded the Nardrom with 0.2 and 0.4
I Downloaded I927UCKI3_I927ATTKI3_ATT.zip and Odin1.85
I should do the Nardrom First, then use Odin1.85 to install I927UCKU3 correct
