I haven't had this problem with PMTR3's, Jovy23's, or Rushing's ROMs. As long as you skip the credit card entry and wipe good, you shouldn't have those problems.

May I present some pure speculation?
After flashing the new ROM did you restore the Android ID? Now, I have no idea what this Android ID is, but when I use Titanium Backup to restore my apps after flashing a new ROM, it always warns me that my Android ID has changed and that it may affect the ability of the play store to know that this is the same phone as it was from before the flash. My speculation is that the play store has the billing tied to a specific Android ID.

Probably, as they're just gonna push the OTA like they normally do, but its not available yet... Pushing the code to AOSP and releasing the OTA are two different things.

Nevermind. Found it in Settings - Apps - All - Google Services Framework - Clear Data.
Didn't help however. Maybe I'll just repeat the procedure a few times and report if anything happens...

So I tried this earlier this morning since there's all the talk of Jelly bean coming out, it didn't work and now I've got problems with the Play store, whenever I try to update an app or install a new one I get this error:
"error while retrieving information from server. rpc:aec:0"
I've done some searching and cleared data / cache multiple times as suggested, but no luck. Does anyone have any idea's?
Thanks.

Strange, I did the same and now the error appears to me while updating or downloading apps... I think we just have to wait a bit an it's working again (hopefully).
After having restarted the device, I could successfully install a random app from the market.

Well that's strange, but I'm glad I'm not the only one
I also noticed when you tell an app to update on the Google Play website, it doesn't get sent through to the phone...
I feel the only fix for this may be to do a factory reset, or wait for the OTA which should fix it...

I did the same and got the same problem as you, then I tried adding a second account to play store (my wifes) and I could add apps using that one. So I then deleted all Google accounts, and re applied my account and its all back working again.
Still no Jelly Bean yet though, I am resisting the temptation to root at the moment and applying the update manually, trying to stay with a vanilla Google Nexus.

Though I might just root it

Yeah ultimately I deleted my google account from my phone and re-added it, I think that's what did the trick however I followed all the various techniques in this thread (http://forum. xda-developers. com/ showthread.php?t=1632890&page=4)
All good now, but still not Jelly Bean :-( I'm doing the same, I'd really like to keep it vanilla at the moment, it's painful though as I'm now waiting for Jelly Bean on the Galaxy Nexus and my Nexus 7 to be delivered!!!
this trick helps did the whole procedure repeatedly like 5 times or so, and Voila!! there it is 4.1 JB
Downloading now 144 mb
Does this method delete any important data on the phone? Just curious. Am flashed to stock yakju 4.0.4 with an unlocked bootloader. Debating if I should a) Flash b) wait till I get it - Canada (Bell Mobility) or c) Do this method but don't want to start from scratch.

This worked for me! I did a little happy dance when it happened!
As you'll see, this is my first post gents, I honestly have no idea where to ask this question so I'll try in here and hopefully someone will know the answer or direct me to an appropriate thread...
Now that I've got JB I really want my Nexus to just have the basic JB settings, so like it was fresh out the box but with all my apps, pics, contacts texts etc already on it. I am unrooted but was running go launcher and some go widgets which I've deleted but I really want to go one step further but at the same time short of a factory reset as that will lose everything!
That make sense??
I was trying this procedure since yesterday and did repetitions of 5 to 10 back to back and no luck totaling up to 50 times approximately. Just ended up unlocking the boot-loader and flashing it using CWM couldn't wait lol. Best thing was that because the device is from the Play Store when unlocking the boot-loader and didn't erase anything.
I've had instances when i clean wipe and install a new version of the rom and I'd have to install all the apps again, but then there were instances when the apps were auto-downloaded from the play store.
For example, clean installed CNA 3.65 and it remembered my apps from 3.6, but when I clean installed to 3.66 I need to redownload all the apps again. What makes it do that? Should I be syncing something?
Thanks,
Theoretically your apps should always re-download from Google when you enter your account into the phone for the first time on a fresh device.
Unfortunately, it doesn't always work properly.
There must be only one device visible on Google Play (PC) for it to automatically restore apps.
Sent from my AOSP Android 4.1.1 Galaxy Nexus.
I always open up my apps, aborted the auto download n install, install back my titanium n key then used titanium to restore my user apps.
Only a few rare case where apps are broken from playstore but market doctor in titanium does the work. Worth every penny!

That's what I meant. If it shows the same device more than once it won't work. This happens a lot if you flash Roms constantly. Hide all the identical devices except the most recent one.

Hi....I have what to some may be a basic question.....I want to buy an app. If after I've done so, I change ROM (from CM9 to CM10 for example) I'll obviously have to re install it. Will I be forced to purchase the app again, or will play store recognise that I've already purchased it and allow me to re download it without charge?.......

Most of the time the Play Store will recognized your account and you don't have to repurchase the item.
But sometimes I do get this weird issues where in some roms the Play Store doesn't recognize my account. But it's all good after I reflashed the 2nd time. I don't know if anyone else got this issues.
OK....so bearing that in mind, what location in phone memory does play store download my apps to? And is it possible to make a backup copy that I can manually re install after flashing a new ROM?....
From my Galaxy W on CM9 and CWM6 with Tapatalk 2
putting in mind that you really purchased it, you don't want to lose it because of changing a rom. so perform a backup (titanium backup) and when you go to the playstore again they will automatically find your purchase . after restoring the app

Lol...we're not all freebee seeking pirates here.....I commented to a dev about improving a theme, as a result of that communication, he provided me with a link to get his tapatalk app for free.....he asked me not to share the link...and I haven't.....and out of respect for him and his work, I won't either.....
The reason I asked that question is I want to legitimately upgrade from rom toolbox lite....to the full version....but when I upgrade to CM10, I want to make sure I can get it back without paying for it again....

When changing generations (e.g., GB to ICS or ICS to JB), I strongly suggest to not use any backup, but instead download fresh from Play Store.
Backups might save some prior-generation binaries, rendering the app unstable or worse.

As long as you login properly to Play Store, all purchase status will be restored.
Heck, I even can purchase something using my W, but via web Play Store push it to my Ainol Tablet. One purchase for all devices... even though the Ainol is running JB while the W is running ICS...
A (slight extreme) anecdote: I purchased ADW Launcher EX for my GB Galaxy Ace last year. When it's finally updated a couple of weeks ago, I pulled it on my ICS W. Earlier today, I pushed it (via web Play Store) to my JB Ainol Tablet.
One purchase, three devices, three generations
A less extreme example: When I was still using stock, I purchased Tasks+. Then, I changed to Bionic Cow 2, and somehow I managed to clobber my backups. No problem, I just download Tasks+ again (no repeat purchase necessary). Then I installed CM9b1 'Pristine'-ly, and downloaded Tasks+ again. And about one month ago, I went mad and installed CM9b3 Pristine, and of course, Tasks+ is still listed as purchased (but, this time, I restored from TiBU).

Here is LT28i Stock Roger JB: Deodexed, Prerooted, Debloated and DeGoogled with Nakedbrowser integrated.
All Roger bloatware removed. All social apps, facebook, twitter etc. removed. All Google apps removed. Google Services Framework removed. Google one time initialization removed. Sony update removed.
This rom is deodexed by me, unlike the previous one that was just prerooted and therefore moved to general section. Rom is very light (only 355mgb in zip) and battery conscious. K9 mail and Textsecure can replace stock SMS and Conversations. Gibberbot can replace any messaging app. All three are open source and freely available on the internet (gpl license).
You must be rooted and have CWM recovery, as is always the case with CWM flashing.
Instructions:
1. Start recovery, mount system, cache and data. Format each (you can do instead data erase/factory reset, but that won't get rid of everything).
2. Flash the rom.
If you were on JB LT28h, you are all set, just reboot. If you were on ICS, DON'T REBOOT. Instead do the following:
3. Turn off your phone and flash Roger stock JB FTF with flashtool. Untick everything but kernel; exclude everything, but baseband. You need LT28i basebands, as it has been reported that ICS basebands produce crappy results on JB: problems with H/H+ and/or LTE. Also, if your LT28at is simunlocked, by flashing Roger basebands, you can restore T-Mobile's H and H+ (1700), which is blocked in AT&T firmware.
WARNING: If you were on ICS and you don't do the third step, you will end up in a boot loop.
After boot, you will have to reinstall Busybox and CWM, which were not incorporated in this rom. Remember, without busybox, you won't be able to install CWM.
To lovers of Google apps: you can install them on your own. They are freely available.

Would you please tell me the benefit of using Rogers instead of Generic International firmware?
LT28i has a different hardware: radio and frequencies. It has lte, which LT28h doesn't.
LT28h has better H+ upload speed. This requires software changes. I had problems with lte conection when I installed LT28h rom (and used ICS LT28i radio): breaking down, loss of packets and improper switching. Those problems went away with Roger, which is the only officially released rom for LT28i.
Will try this rom out. Have no problem getting Google back on here so thanks. Well report back.
Can you add pic if u cant ill add it when i flash.

this is better for at&t ion? I have lt28h with ics baseband and it is crappy the signal is very bad.
Just flash Roger's baseband and you will see improvement.
I will try your rom, sounds real good.
Edit-
Had problems with google. Since it is degoogled. Can you add a version with google? Or a gapps zip or something like that? Thanks
You should have no problems installing Google apps. Just search xda forums or the internet. They are freely available. But if you install them, your phone will become laggy again and your battery will die in 10 - 12 hours.

Flashing wouldn't do. This rom does not have Google Services Framework. I would try direct install starting from Google store. Googleplay may install GSF, but keep in mind that GSF is primarily responsible for lagging and battery usage. Through this your phone is almost always connected to Google servers and transmits info about everything you do including keystrokes etc. Without mentioning privacy issues, this makes your processor work overtime and kills the battery.
Android is the best OS around, because it is based on Linux, but only so if you deGoogle it. Yes, you will lose Googleplay, but I am yet to find a single application that cannot be downloaded from other sources. Note, I am not talking about getting paid applications. I am talking about free apps that are available at Googlestore. They are all available elsewhere.

I no longer have deleted apps, but I would look into Spetre's deodexed LT28h system/apps and look for googlesync adapter. I would then put it into your system/apps (with appropriate permissions) and see if that helps. You may also need to install google account (also in that rom), but I am not sure if it would work absent GSF.

Try this:
http://yadi.sk/d/sfsmY8IJ7vsNW
It contains 4 files: Google backup transport; Contacts sync adapter; Calendar sync adapter; and Google Login Service They are from Roger's rom.
I would start with contacts sync, if still doesn't work, add google backup and then google login. They have to be installed in system with usual permissions. That's all I can do. Good luck.

So I just been contacted by a rep of my service provider, stating that they just locked my number / service because extra data traffic, in amount of ~100E.
As it seems, in the last 3 days I have been doing LOTS of data traffic over WiFi and 3G.
Looking into DATA USAGE, I can see arround 4 Gb of data traffic comming from Google Services > Background.
WTF is this why does it require for so much traffic?
