Needs to work with my wife's iPad mini. I tried WiFi Tether which (IIRC) worked fine with Galaxy Nexus and iPad 3. Now that I have the GN2 and she has an iPad mini it doesn't even see the GN2 SSID in it's available wi-fi networks.
Any suggestions?

WifiTether was not working for me either. it would show that tethering is activate but it wouldn't broadcast the SSID.

If I were to tether my phone to become a hotspot for anything, namely the Galaxy Tab, would that work?
If so can I get some links on how to easily tether my Evo?
Thanks!
I tether my coby kyros 7" android tablet, to the evo all the time.
Use the access control setting in wireless tether, to secure the connection.
Yep, I tether my iPad all the time. If you're rooted, just download wireless tether for root users from the market or use whatever tethering app is preloaded in your ROM.
Using Evo to tether my iPad and laptop. Works like a charm.
I am a noob so take it easy on me. I owned a stock G2 for 2 years and never had an issue with T-Mobile's wifi hotspot tethering. A few weeks ago I upgraded to a Note 2 and ran into immediate issues. I rooted the phone (still running stock JB) downloaded Titanium Backup Pro and I have SuperSu. I downloaded TrevE's modified wifi tether app and was able to get it to work after freezing the tethering provision and tinkering with my ASN, the problem is that I am only able to wifi tether to Android tablets or ipads, I am having issues tethering to my laptop and my Xbox. I get the T-Mobile upsell page when I connect to my laptop and my Xbox finds the hotspot and connects but is unable to download any updates or access the marketplace (I have already tried assigning the Xbox the same mac address as my tablet, no dice). I was wondering if there was an easy work around so I can tether to my Xbox and laptop or an idea I had was is it possible to tether to my Asus Transformer to my wifi hotspot (which does work with the tablet) and then run an Ethernet cable from my tablet (I saw usb Ethernet adapters are available for my Transformer) to my Xbox or laptop to get past the block. I would appreciate any suggestions, thanks. Also I am on the T-Mobile unlimited data plan.
I'm on a Gnex lte with a verizon unlimited plan. I'm running CM 10.1. the rom's hotspot shows up to connect, can't connect with my laptop, can connect on the ipad but dns error and no internet.
also the WiFi tether app, both from playstore and beta3 version doesn't seem to broadcast a signal recognizable by either my laptop or the ipad. I'm wondering if the app just isn't working right or if verizon is blocking my tethering. any help?
I use Splashtop on my Asus Infinity TF-700 to remotely connect to my PC at the office. When I use Wifi, it works great.
However, whenever I try to tether the tablet to my Galaxy Nexus, Splashtop kills the hotspot connection and I must reboot the tablet and disable/re-enable hotspot on the GN. I am running AOKP 4.2.1 Build 2.
I say it "kills my hotspot" because while tethered before I starting Splashtop my tethered connection on the tablet works great. As soon as I open Splashtop on the tablet, my internet connection on the tablet is killed. Splashtop fails to remotely connect to my PC and no other apps can connect.
I've switching my connection from LTE to 3G and it has no effect. I contacted Splashtop support and they say that my tether probably cannot support the bandwidth, but I responded that I am able to get 7-11 MBPS on the tablet over the tether using LTE, streaming YouTubeHD. They basically have no answers and told me I should try upgrading to Android 4.2.2.
Anyone else here use Splashtop tethered thru your GN? Any ideas?
I just bought a chromecast and I'm trying to figure out if I can get my GNexus to host the hotspot and be the chromecast remote.
In more detail:
I do not have internet from a cable/satellite company. The only internet connection I have is through my cellphone hotspot.
Chromecast will be connected to the internet through my cellphone hotspot (SSID: AndroidAP).
When my cellphone has the hotspot running it does not show up on its own network (AndroidAP).
I need the phone to show up on the network (AndroidAP) so that I can see the chromcast and use the phone as a remote.
Is this even possible?
Try Foxfi?
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2
Honestly don't think this is possible.
It would be like trying to connect the phone to it's own Wi-Fi hotspot that it created?
